It’s the fact that she was gaslighted so much in this relationship that at the end of the song her repeating those lyrics was for her to reassure herself that she was not crazy and that she remembers what she remembers.

It's amazing how quickly you recalled the lyrics from other songs where Taylor mentioned not being funny enough for him. 'now joke's on you!' 🤣

And the fact that Jake's current girlfriend is actually close to Taylor's age back then. Taylor dated Jake when she's 21 and him 30, and Jake dated his current gf when he's 38 and her 22 ☠

Can we all agree that if Taylor submit all too well 10 min for the grammys and it doesn't win, that gives solid evidence that the grammys is rigged, cause this is the best written song ever

I understand completely how you feel in this video. I was left speechless (and sobbing) at the end of my first listen. I cannot get over the fact that she wrote this when she was 21!! Just 21 years old, and yet she had the emotional maturity to translate her devastation, confusion, pain, and anger into this. POETRY. The lyrics are an utter masterpiece and absolute poetry. All of her songs are outstanding, but this one for sure takes the cake for any song that she’s put out. It’s like reading a book every time you listen to her music. And it’s the reason why I do on a daily. It’s rare for an artist to have as much skills as she does. To write a 10 minute song describing exactly what they went through start to finish. I couldn’t imagine coming up with lyrics like these. It’s insane. Loved your reaction to this by the way. The film will definitely leave you just as speechless.

You look beautiful! And I love how much you understand on your first listens and how honest you are! My fav lyric would be " 'Cause in this city's barren cold. I remember it all too well" because it pretty much sums up the whole vibe of the song - what now is lifeless and empty was once beautiful and enchanting, and you can't quite forget it, so its hard to move past the trauma.

I'm sure others will say this, but you should definitely react to her live performance! Actually, now with the ten minute version I would love for you to see her *grammy all too well performance* vs the *live 10 minute premiere*. for a long time the grammy performance has been a fan favourite and one of her best, but it was right after red came out so it's beautiful and *emotional*, versus the 10 minute live which is beautiful but recent and different!

Yep, this song makes me sad but the ending of it is the most haunting for me. The way it ends with a repetitive echoing of the words: "Wind in my hair... I was there, I was there... (fresh air as in the start of something new and exciting) Down the stairs... I was there, I was there... (now you're in their personal space getting intimate) Sacred prayer... I was there, I was there... (the words spoken and promised to each other) It was rare... (being faithful to them with your mind, body, heart and soul) You remember it all too well...." (the memories is all that's left) That's how I see the ending of that song. It must have been such a hard time for her. And the breakup must have been on repeat in her head just thinking about how the relationship started. Its ups and downs til it finally ended. It's that still silence of you and your thoughts and the memories that are left behind. Just like we see in the music video with the snow gently falling down almost like slow motion. Omg, just remembered the lyrics to The Moment I Knew: "It's like slow motion, standing there in my party dress..." I can picture her being still and just going over her thoughts. All Too Well has my favourite TS lyric of all time "You call me up again just to break me like a promise". I didn't think anything could beat that for how much understanding that one line gives you of a whole relationship. That was until I heard "You kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath". The simple poetry in that comparison... secret (dishonest, embarrassing, shameful) Vs oath (pure, treasured, revered). It just breaks me!
