To avoid any confusion... "The 1989 World Tour" is just the name of the tour. This performance happened in 2015, as it is stated in the description and on the video itself (0:13). Why is that the name? Taylor named her fifth studio album, "1989", after her year of birth, therefore, that was the name given to her forth headlining tour, in support of this album. 27 & I actually remember vividly having my iPod passed around in math class in 7th grade and everyone making fun of all the Taylor swift and Train songs on it & going home and crying and deleting them and then rediscovering her at 18 (& Train they are amazing idc) and she was my hidden artist like I only listened to her in the car alone for years because i thought it was so “uncool” lol so random but yeah kids are mean 😂 now me and my 4 year old daughter rock out to Taylor daily on the way anywhere

I live in India, as a teenager we didn't have access to buying original records here, i also didn't have internet. I remember listening to her songs after downloading them from an internet café. And i became a huge fan without ever watching a single music video. My mind was blown when i saw the video of "Girlfriend" on my friend's computer(who had internet), I remember literally buying a blank CD and running to her house the same evening to burn the song on the CD. Gen Z would probably blanch at my comment. Lol.

Hearing their songs in the late-00s and early-10s, it didn't even register to kid me that Taylor and Avril had debuted years apart. Looking it up, Taylor was 12 or 13 when Complicated came out in 2002, so I guess it makes sense this song would be nostalgic for her. Ahhh I can see where major Swiftie (at least before?) Olivia got her inspiration, since she was too young to have grown up with Avril (I think). So cool to see women singers honor their influences.

If I was here, I don’t think I will be able to sing along. I’d cry my heart out while screaming. All the songs of these two iconic singers made my whole teenage years😭
