I don't think the timing spoils the result of the debate for Kamela. I think it spoils the news-cycle-grab that the mad don always does after loosing such an event. He is much more ruthless about throwing any dead cat on the table (or grill/plate/pan), just to steal the headlines for the next 24 hours. This neatly skewers that cat... I mean plan.

Considering she previously backed Joe Biden before I don't think surprised anybody, it just made an additional headline. Even The Mooch thought while she gave a great sign-off on the post , the fallout from the debate itself had far more political resonance.

What happened to Biden at the last debate, just happened to Trump. Only this was a righteous win. She came armed with so many great attack lines, delivered them with aplomb. She reduced Trump to an agitated, rambling fool. A plus.

Taylor Swift's post, just like Kamala's interviews and responses are all scripted by a team, there's no reason why a pop star would have any particular understanding of political dynamics. Although her opinion is just as valid as anyone else's, I'm not sure that making a meal of out this is really that helpful, and it's kind of self-invalidating in that it validates everything Trump says about the political manipulation game being played, so the obvious and sensible thing to do is not pay too much attention and focus on the quality of the policies.

Watch her documentary. She’s been disturbed by Trump and Maga’s actions for years and has fought her team to say something . She may not feeling inflation or Hannibal Lecter coming over the border, but she is a woman who cares for others and considers Trump to be a danger specifically towards women and the LGTBQ community. Usually people/brands this big stay out of politics and she probably wanted to. But she is smart, knows what is going on and realizes the threat is too big to not say anything.

There's also no reason that a pop star _wouldn't_ "...have any particular understanding of political dynamics". I don't see how the converse is a meaningful statement. It's nothing to do with how much she does or doesn't understand political dynamics: she's using her cultural visibility to make a statement regarding the candidate she supports, in the hope that it will help that candidate's campaign. How exactly does that "... [validate] everything Trump says about the political manipulation game being played..."? In the US, celebrity endorsements are common, and have a long history. Do you think people like Tucker Carlson or the so-called pundits on Fox News have (and, more importantly, present) a more nuanced understanding of politics when they endorse Trump? And do you think what Fox News does is somehow _less_ of a "political manipulation game" than Tay-tay saying she support Kamala? If you do, there's this bridge in Brooklyn...

Nothing validates Trump's stream of consciousness grievance and conspiracy rants. Like any voter she chooses who aligns with her priorities best. Americans resentful of the return of inflation after 40 years and who don't understand macroeconomics hope Trump can bring back lower prices miraculously. Then there are 20% religious nutters and about 10% virtue signalers. That's the American electorate.

Ok She's a pop star but of a different order to most with 283 million followers on Instagram alone! Do you really think she needs a team to write an instagram post? This is a very smart, well read woman who writes some of the most articulate lyrics in contemporary pop music. Kamala Harris left the stage to her song 'The Man'- I would recommend a listen.
