Something that I never see pointed out and the genius of Taylor's writing comes through at the end when the male is showing his emotion by wailing like he's really unexpectedly lost something and she's more meloncholic because she knew the breakup was coming. Just genius.

Taylor did the Folklore and Evermore albums during Covid. Long Pond is in upstate NY and Bon Iver was elsewhere. What a voice that man has! She knows how to pick her singing partners!

Bon Iver is Indie-Pop.Justin Vernon usually uses a more falsetto voice.You will be surprised. Taylor is a big fan of his band. He was playing in London and he had just started singing this song...when Taylor surprised him...walked on stage and did her part. The pianist you saw here..was there ..arranged it. So good. There is a fan video online

I don't know if you are aware but Joe Alwyn(Actor and Taylor's boyfriend) was randomly playing this melody while making up lyrics! Taylor heard and they decided to write the song! Both of them are Bon Iver fans! Joe also co wrote Betty - the piano and the verse he was singing when Taylor heard him! He also orchestrated the piano in Champagne Problems (one of my favourite songs). Always enjoy your reactions 💖

It was during COVID. He wore a mask for the people filming him. She was at home. Justin Vernon has a wide range. Love his lows. The live video in London was not as good for me. I don’t think Justin could hear himself in London. So this video is after the actual recording. She did her vocals in Calif. his in Wisconsin Live. This long pond is the first time Aaron and Jack Antonoff Could play the songs together. This is Taylor’s New York cabin upstate where she built this studio for Folklore !!

Hearing Bon Iver on this song made me think I'd like them for their own music.... I didnt. Which is a shame since he had a great voice that low register of his is just unbelievable. In so many vids I've seen of Bon Iver performing as a group, it's more of a religious experience with little regard to the quality of singing. Lots of hooting and hollering. But this song is a masterclass.

She also has these Kellyoke videos She does on her show where she sings covers. For Album reactions, maybe react to 4 or 5 songs in one video and do the rest in separate video parts.

Heyo I'm sure you probably already have a comment like this somewhere in here, but country and folk music aren't quite the same genre despite having overlap. A lot of people I know find they love folk (at least the indie folk genre) even if they hate country with the passion of a dying supernova! 😂❤ I feel like folk music is a lot more versatile sonically than most country music, but I might just be biased.
