Single by Sara Bareilles from the album The Blessed Unrest official music video: • Sara Bareilles - Brave... Edição: Anderson Lopes Label: Epic Writer(s): Sara Bareilles, Jack Antonoff Producer(s): Mark Endert
I just saw the video where Sara does a cover of "Clean," and tells the story of how she "sang horribly" here, and Sara, I can't hear it, girl, you kicked butt! I know the beginning you couldn't hear over the crowd, but you recovered so well, and Taylor, you're so kind bringing out these super talented people and exposing YOUR crowd to their talents, and hopefully winning them new fans. Super generous of you, and Sara couldn't speak more highly of you if she tried. Love you both.
Sara wrote about this in her book. Apparently, she couldn't hear anything when she first started singing, so she was singing off-key because she couldn't hear anything and was definitely freaking out about it.
I remember Sara writing about this in her book, how the crowd was so LOUD she couldn't hear her feedback or the music at the beginning! She was embarrassed, but said Taylor was super kind about it. It hurts my heart seeing how thin Taylor is, and knowing how much her comment about 'bad self esteem days' was real. As someone who is recovered from an ED, I hear exhaustion in her voice, not lack of strength. When she started feeding and nurturing herself, her vocals grew to what they should be. You can hear it on her Reputation tour. So proud of these ladies, they've both come such a long way in loving themselves, and I've come a long way listening to their music. x
thank you for explaining that. I was worried that the feed into her earpieces were sabotaged or something, and apparently it was just the crowd. Which is not a bad problem to have, but yes I was so worried why she began with a lower key
I’m amazed that Taylor was able to keep up at all. She’s great, but I mean Sara is an absolute power house. When Sara wrote the song she loved it and then was like, “shit, I have to belt this beast out every night.”
@@hannahremmel9550 No need to compare them. I am a massive fan of both of them and I'm glad two incredible songwriters exist to fill our lives with beautiful music. They're both special in their own ways.
This is one of the reasons I am a fan of Taylor Swift. She isn’t the best vocalist alive - but her spirit and her intelligence and her compassion and goodness shine through. She isn’t intimidated by Sara’s talent - in fact she lets her shine. That’s why people love Taylor. She writes from her heart. She tried to live and be authentic and you can feel that.
I just watch Sara give a hauntingly beautiful cover of Clean. She talked about how she thought she sang horribly here. Afterwards Taylor came to comfort her and told her she did amazing.
The song fits her. She "braved" through the technical glitch. Sarah is a pro. Taylor was such a huge help. She was all there for Sarah for the unexpected. The duet came out well enough.
I saw the reaction on her face that she totally embarrassed when she started off the wrong key. Well it’s live, anything can happen and it’s normal. The show must go on.
It seems Sara didn't have any piano in her in-ear monitors. You can see her pushing on them and hear her hunting around to find the right key as she's entering. They fixed the problem by the time she got down the stairs, but it's no fault of hers. The sound man dropped the ball on sending a proper mix that she could hear to start the song. She corrected it damn fast. She's probably used to starting this song off on piano herself. It's tough to get in key when someone else is playing you can't even hear them!
nsantore She had all the sound in the piece but the audience was so loud there was no way she could hear it, even when she took the ear piece out, she still couldn’t hear the music. She mentioned it in her book and it’s an amazing recovery!
Well, her mic wasn't broken when she hit her note at the 4:18 mark, and then again at the 4:40 mark. Those two oughta work on a duet . . . it would be a killer compilation! You go girls!
@@davidrose5566 Iam really sorry to say this but it's not her fault and please stop commenting and judging the artists be kinder, the planet needs more of those kind of people. And the reason, that you are here.....listening her singing is proof that you listen to her songs too
@@davidrose5566 Since you made that comment, she wrote and released 2 albums, recorded at least 1, and broke a record previously held by the Beatles for 50 years. You’re just mad that a powerful woman like her exists
It’s unfortunate that she started on the wrong key poor Sara! But she handled it like a pro! Both amazing women who are great song writers. So glad they’re both friends!
Just watched a video where she said she went to her dressing room and cried after this performance because she was off. I thought she did AMAZING!!! (She said the crowd was so loud she had a hard time hearing through her ear piece, that’s why she was holding it at the start) Love this song!
I can where she felt she screwed up in the beginning, sometimes mistakes you make in the moment feel longer than the moment they actually last. She started off shaky and off-pitch bc she couldn't hear, but holy crap she literally recovered so quickly and killed it. Sang every high note with as much passion and confidence she can put in and honestly, it can be hard to recover when you start off on the wrong foot, it can affect your mentality. I think she did fabulously here, way more than how "poorly" she thinks the whole thing went. Taylor was amazing for being so warm and welcome and kind to Sara, she really shows her respect and appreciation to another fellow artist that's such an icon. Lovely performance.
she had a hard time singing cuz she wasn't used to sing in big crowds...she wasn't able to hear her voice bcuz of the fans screaming... anyways she's awesome ❤️
This is what I love about Taylor she brings other singers on stage with her. This is awesome. She has a heart of GOLD. That's why her birthday should be a holiday. SERIOUS. She is amazing.
This is literally one of my favourite songs of all time. Always gives me a lift when I'm feeling down. I'm a father of two and not afraid to get the groove on (mainly in the shower) when I hear it. from London, UK
Sara is amazing, her voice brings me chills. I have loved her for years and years. She has been with me through all my heart breaks and bouts of depression. And so has Taylor. I loved seeing them perform together. One shaky performance would never have anyone doubting her abilities that have ever heard her sing any other time. ❤️
Even accomplished singers like Sarah may sing off key sometimes due to nervousness or not hearing the music. Nice to know they're just like the rest of us. 🤩
SARA is one of the most Underrated Song Writer, singer.. of all time.. this Women wrote a musical for Broadway.. have been nominated for grammys and never won One... RIDICULOUS..
Their voices are so different, it is amazing they pulled this off at all. Sara Bareilles is a phenomenal talented songwriter, Taylor Swift is a phenomenal performer and a very good writer.
Two incredibly amazing powerhouses on the same stage... this happened so many years ago but it still gives me goosebumps every I see this performance. Queens! 👑
I had a big problem saying what was on my mind. Actually, I never used to say what I felt. When this song came out, it felt like it was sang for me. And Taylor Swift is my favorite musician, so just imagine the chills I got while watching this.
Taylor is so kind that she exposes her fans like myself to other artists like sara to get some recigistion and it really shows me how kind and humble taylor is and that makes me respect her even more and sara did incredbible as always
I love how Taylor Swift celebrates and elevates others, especially other women. Both of these women are so incredibly talented, accomplished, and genuine and we are all the better for their contributions to our world. This collaboration made me smile. Bravo!
Sara, you didn't sing badly. You were incredible, I know you weren't listening because of the crowd, understand, you are a queen and I love you and his voice. ❤
You are going to think I am a weinie, but I am crying righ now! I absolutely love this song! It makes my heart soar. I really can’t find any words to adequately express how powerful this song is to me, much less that Taylor loves it too! Heart swelling!
I looked for this video because I read about it on Sara’s book. I have never really appreciated Taylor’s “talent” but after I read how cool and kind she was about this concert , being so nice to my heroine SB, I kind of love her now LOL! :) #SistersSupportingSisters
Sara, you sound amazing here! I never even noticed back then when I watched this that there were issues. I thought it was done on purpose. Don't beat yourself up. You're incredible and inspiring. You made the choice to continue singing despite the technical issues. If that isn't brave, I don't know what is! :)
I'm currently learning this for a choir. As much as it must pain the artists, like Sarah, who want to get a great performance and who wouldn't, for us mere mortals it is encouraging to hear even the top musos struggle with pitch when they can't hear a tune to follow. There is hope for us yet.
Ohmygosh for all these people hating on Taylor u should applaud her for wanting to bring out underrated artists instead of big names because she can very well get way more famous artists to play alongside her.
Exactly. They're hating on her because she isn't as good at singing as Sara, but she's a better SONGWRITER!!! Music isn't all about singing. Who said she has to be as good as her? Can't she have her own talent??
@@sabhyata2655 I don't mean to hate but Sara is just as good of a songwriter as Taylor, if you really listen to all of her albums( she wrote all songs by herself too). But yes we shouldn't compare them as they're both great at what they do
