Same! I love both songs, but totally lost it when she started playing Red. I also love how she totally noticed that she was being accidentally self-referential when she said, "long story short."
There's so many things that show that she's a veteran performer here, starting with the fact that she knew that something was going wrong in the first place. Then the fact that she figured out that the keyboard had gotten screwed up from the night before. The way that she talks the audience through the entire thing, in the best way, to let the audience in on the whole thing that she's been experiencing for the past 24 hours. Describing the underside of the stage as a water park? Brilliant. But I especially love that she makes the executive decision to pick up the guitar, and then does what she was prepping to do since she was 11 years old... Plays the same song on guitar
@yunacarman I don't think you quite understand. She had started playing, and there was an extra note in the background. She probably has the rest of the band in her ears, and I'm just guessing that a lot of the times, she hears stuff in her ears that aren't supposed to be there. Everything from someone putting down a guitar, to someone talking in the background. Usually, the performer makes is different from the main mix.
I mean I get that Taylor is very talented and amazing performer but what you have mentioned isn't something special or could be proof of her being a veteran performer. I think these are basic, primary things that every performer knows. Also, during surprise songs the band is not there on stage at all so no question of Taylor getting confused if the extra notes are coming from them or anything like that. And to decide to play the song on Guitar.... What's so special about that? What other option did she have ? Asking to bring up the Evermore piano would have been time consuming, she never cancels or skips anything, in fact that's precisely why she did the show in pouring rain the previous night, Guitar was the obvious option. She plays songs on Guitar all the time. She must have played almost all of her songs on Guitar. Red especially has always been played on Guitar until this performance, she mentioned it here.
@@amrutakarve92 "And to decide to play the song on Guitar.... What's so special about that?" How many instruments do you play? Heck, look at your favorite vocalists: Beyonce, Demi Lovato, etc... how many times can they switch from playing their song on piano to guitar? And I don't mean with a days notice. I mean, like, now. And you're just making my point that the previous night, in the pouring rain, she spontaneously switched to guitar. Which makes sense, since she writes a lot of her songs on guitar, and she was practicing guitar 4 hours a day since she was something like 12 years old. I don't think that most folks realize what it means to switch from one instrument to another on the fly. You have to really know your song on both instruments... not just the chords. I'm curious: how many instruments do you play?
Absolutely amazing. beautiful demonstration of her talent, Taylor is able to improvise on the guitar in front of 70,000 fans a song planned on the piano, it's amazing. She does not lose her cool, she is sure of herself, what confidence. She proves once again that she is at her peak of her art. She's a VERY GREAT artist, I think she's the most accomplished since Prince and Mickael Jackson (she writes, sings, produces, composes)! message from France
Losing him was blue, like I'd never known Missing him was dark gray, all alone Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met But loving him was red (red, red, red, red) Loving him was red (red, red, red, red) ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤
Do you think she'll repeat red? Cause this might count as a mess up. And she's gonna need to repeat a lot of songs anyway. But this one could count as a 'make up'
@@spidermirr but not ALL of them. Because she's still got a dozen left unplayed right now. So she won't have to repeat all of her songs. But that wasn't really an answer to my question. I was asking if she'd introduce red as a song she had previously messed up, so she's playing it now.
@@RoseETempest didn't she announce that she's gonna reset all the surprise songs tho, even she's repeat red now because it had previously messed, i think she will repeat red again, idk tho
If you can do that I have so much respect for her and Sia too. These are real artists, I don't see Beyonce, Madonna, or other great artists doing this live.
