fun fact, her love interest in this vid is actually one of her backup dancers, and he's now opening for her on tour for some of the dates! hes one of the openers for the show im going to 😊
This is her most underrated album. I think partly because the fans really did not like the first 2 singles. The song most loved was Cruel Summer didn’t even get performed live until the current tour. FYI gents, the John Mayer diss tracks are in the Speak Now album. Thanks.
I'm sure they don't get mad at y'all! People get too excited with correcting but they just want to share all this lore. Y'all should never worry about getting things wrong
This one, Death by a Thousand Cuts, and the newly released one called All the Girls You Loved Before are the best ones from the Lover album. Well, in my opinion!
We love the normal guy with the beard lol Nathan and Ryan really are one of the best reactors on YT, I'm glad they actually LISTEN to the song and not blab on and on during it. Y'all's banter is hilarious ❤and it's actually natural
Some fans don't like the first two singles, not songs on the album.. I personally like both ME! and You Need To Calm Down...do I think they are her best songs? Absolutely not. BUT, I don't know why people hate it so much, they are both fun bops with great meaning. Anyway Lover has cool pararels with other songs by Taylor: The first line "We could leave the Christmas lights up till January" could like almost connect with New Year's Day from reputation. "I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover" connnects with Gorgeous from reputation "You should think about the consequence of your magnetic field being a little too strong" And then "All's well that ends well to end up with you" is kind of like a good ending compared to not so good ending in ATW10MVFTV "They say all's well that ends well, but I'm in a new hell Every time you double-cross my mind".
I'm so happy that you are reacting to Lover stuff guys, when I saw in your miss americana reaction that the first thing you read about the album was that "its her worst album" I was like, okey that's a really strong and damaging statement. For a more unbias opinion (Lover is in my top number 5 of Taylos's 10 albums) Lover is more like a 50/50 album. Some fans absolutly adore it (because they're more into Pop Taylor, she has a lot of lyrics that make references to her previous works, specially Red, and finally thanks to the concept itself of the album: the differents forms of love). And somes fans doesn't like it at all (one of the reasons are the poor choises of the Singles, the no cohesive sound across the album and some people thought that Taylor was "triying to hard" to get the success she had before the reputation fiasgo and that "it felt forced" how much she promoted Lover). But the best way of form an opinion is to listen it, so I hope that in the future you can react to other Lover songs ;) Thank you if you read this whole "Lover Ted Talk" LOL.
If Taylor has a child and ever writes/releases songs about them… I will never recover. Just thinking about songs like The Best Day and Never Grow Up, which you will hear eventually(!), ugh it’s gonna be so good. I understand if she never releases songs like that though
This is about joe Alwyn the love of her life also as much as I want to hate this song because it reminds me of my ex fiancée we’d dance to this all the time this and heaven by Kane brown actually Kane brown heaven was his choice to dance too for our wedding which we never made it to and lover was mine anyway I can’t hate it at all I love the hell out of it her voice is beautiful and the lyrics ugh ❤️🩹😭one day I’ll find that kind of love and this will be one of the songs we’d dance to hopefully great reaction guys 🎶🙌👏🏽
You're right that it's based off of an older sound! Jazz influenced '50s/60s torch songs! Think Billie Holliday. I HIGHLY recommend Cruel Summer from the Lover album! Cruel Summer, Paper Rings, and London Boy are by far the best of the album with the title song.
She despises John Mayer with passion. You can tell not only from Dear John but from Would've, Could've, Should've, She might dislike Jake but she hates Mayer. She wrote the songs abt Jake in 2011 after their relationship, but Aaron Dessner said he and Taylor wrote the song WCS in 2021 the night after the grammys when she saw Mayer there.
A lot of fans love Lover and that always tells me what kind of Swifties they are 😂 There are some incredible songs on there. Some of her best. But it’s too long and has no focus. It’s all mixed-up genre-wise. The sequencing isn’t good. The first single was not only bad, it’s one of the weakest songs in her catalog. But it’s the first album on her new label so of course they weren’t going to say no to her. Taylor suffers from an editing problem and thinks more is better and that is often not the case.
@@WelpHereWeAreOnRU-vid I haven't gotten all the way through yet. It was dinner time my side 😬 I tend to comment as soon as I think of something. I have adhd and if I left my thoughts to the end of the video, I would never remember what I wanted to say 😅 Glad someone on Discord/Twitch could help you out so quick. I was thinking in that moment that it was a super unfortunate mix up to make in light of the utter douchecanoe Mayer is 😬 Enjoying the videos as always, thank you! I am not able to sponsor on Patreon at the moment, but I hope someone nominates some Florence and the Machine music videos to you guys soon. It's the one component I think you've yet to experience of their work. They are gorgeous 😍 Free has a stunning one, and if you get into their older catalogue, the music video of the song Big God from their last album will blow your minds! Have an excellent day!
Taylor is notoriously bad at picking singles for her albums! The main single for Lover was Me and in my opinion is the worst song she’s ever released 🫣 Cruel Summer is the fan favourite song from Lover and definitely should have been the leading single for the album!
