Best monologue of the night? As in? The best cold open by late night hosts? You still watch late night? It's not that they aren't funny anymore - they're not - its more that they have become literal puppets for the machine. It's not even: 'this comedian leans left so the show leans left' or vice-versa, that is something most people (both sides) can look past and appreciate the comedy. Rather, this generation of late night hosts literally read scripts given to them and they have zero autonomy, zero latitude; talking heads and the glaring transparency makes it cringe beyond measure. Id have thought they'd canceled late night by now as it is a public health hazard, death by cringe is something modern society shouldn't be allowing. PS - not only are these guys not funny, they have *teams* of writers who actually wit down, write this garbage, hand it to a supervisor who, after auditing it, sends it to an editor, who sends it to the PR team, who in turn, forwards it to both the ESG and DEI task force divisions for the mandatory minority audit, the final stage before each joke can make it on the final script for the night. So, I guess to each their own? But you should know what you're watching, and so zealously commenting in favor of.. It's also just not funny, I probably jslust wasted my time replying to a bot ahaha no way a real person could find this garbage to be comedy..
