How awesome must it have been to have such a beautiful, musically talented grandmother? I can’t imagine. Taylor would have known her until she, Taylor, was 12 years old. That’s old enough to have precious memories. This may be why Taylor seems like such a natural in the spotlight, she’s well and truly grounded. Fabulous legacy.❤

This is absolutely beautiful. The song starts with what sounds like advice that her grandmother gave her and we get more advice throughout the song. You get the understanding that Taylor’s character comes from her grandmothers guidance and life experiences. The line “all your closets of backlog dreams” is so bittersweet as Marjorie had all these dreams as an opera singer and now her beloved granddaughter is achieving things beyond her wildest dreams - That Marjorie never lived to see. Marjories memory shines through Taylor and Taylor is the way she is because of the way her Grandmother moulded her.
