I'm glad you liked her song. If you listen again, when you hear the opera singer in the background that's her grandmother singing. She wrote one about her grandpa's experience as medic in the war called Epiphany and tied it in with the pandemic. She has an amazing talent for lyrics! I enjoyed your reaction!

as a blues /rock/jazz fan, I have listened to this young woman, and her music speaks so powerfully to me. I admire her work intensly.

I’m really happy to hear that you were impressed by this song. Yes, this song is very intimate and personal to Taylor. Her maternal grandmother was not only a veteran but a very accomplished Opera singer. Taylor was very close with her. To include true background vocals of Marjorie was beautiful.

Thank you for your reaction! Will be using something that might sound like irony/sarcasm/cynicism, but it’s all well intended. I accidentally put Taylor Swift into the category of “ordinary pop-singers”, and was even reserved to listen to her newer songs. But when I did, I realized that her storytelling and lyrics are very well done, and it completely smashed the image of her as a typical trending singer. It just proves to me that I have to keep staying open-minded. Just because it’s a genre I usually don’t listen to, it has very little to do with whether it’s good or not. Since realizing that, I have discovered so many new talents, and honestly, many of them would have been on the list I would simply had dismissed because I was not into that kind of music. Talented musicians put a lot of energy into their songs. They just happen to be sharing it in different languages and styles, genres etc, but when it’s good it’s good:)

Taylor also lost Marjorie (spot on, she was her maternal grandmother) quite young. Marjorie passed when Taylor was about 14... Probably two or three years before Taylor hit it "big" in the music industry. It's so sad that her gran didn't get to see her become such a big star... But Taylor still clearly feels her influence, love, presence whether she believes in an afterlife or not. It's really a special song. Her rational mind says one thing, but her love for her grandmother superceeds everything. I remember feeling the same way when my own last living grandmother passed. We were packing out her house and I kept every single note, every recipe, every concert ballot she'd made notes on, everything I could find with her handwriting on it because I felt so bereft of her. It's an incredible song and an incredible testament to that love.

You should listen to her other song for her grandpa's. The title is "epiphany. Or " Ronan" About children who died bc cancer

Hello Vet, I know you must have had plenty of abuse from Lucy Thomas fans otherwise you play her music some fans of hers are not very nice , nasty in fact, but this out of Lucy's hands it is not her fault. I know deep down you like Lucy, she has covered the most beautiful song of all time " Unchained Melody " made so famous by Bobby Hatfield from the Righeous Brother's, it is worth watching Lucy's cover it's just beautiful.
