@@ellaknight5597 noo.... It wasn't a full stadium tour but the last show of fearless tour was a stadium show a sold out one.... Reputation was a first all stadium tour
That's Taylor's prologue to 'Red' album, the reason she chose the name: "There's an old poem by Neruda that I’ve always been captivated by, and one of the lines in it has stuck with me ever since the first time I read it. It says “love is so short, forgetting is so long.” It’s a line I’ve related to in my saddest moments, when I needed to know someone else had felt that exact same way. And when we’re trying to move on, the moments we always go back to aren’t the mundane ones. They are the moments you saw sparks that weren’t really there, felt stars aligning without having any proof, saw your future before it happened, and then saw it slip away without any warning. These are moments of newfound hope extreme joy, intense passion, wishful thinking, and in some cases, the unthinkable letdown. And in my mind, every one of these memories looks the same to me. I see all of these moments in bright, burning, red. My experiences in love have taught me difficult lessons, especially my experiences with crazy love. The red relationships. The ones that went from zero to a hundred miles per hour and then hit a wall and exploded. And it was awful. And ridiculous. And desperate. And thrilling. And when the dust settled, it was something I’d never take back. Because there is something to be said for being young and needing someone so badly, you jump in head first without looking. And there’s something to be learned from waiting all day for a train that’s never coming. And there’s something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn’t fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it. But this album is about the other kids of love that I’ve recently fallen in and out of. Love that was treacherous, sad, beautiful, and tragic. But most of all, this record is about love that was red."
The fact that just seven years later she wrote Lover, and closed it off with "I once believed love would be burning red, but it's golden, like daylight" just SENDS ME. She finally found that perfect love.
"real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn't fade or spontaneously combust. maybe I'll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it" Reputation, Lover, Folklore and Evermore are typing... "Just one, sis? really?"
By Red she means that it’s very intense, passionate etc, but now whenever she uses a color to talk about her love with Joe she uses Gold. If you listen to her song Daylight she also explains that and in invisible string it’s talking about the folklore about a red string tying you to your soulmate but she says it’s a gold string.
Red is 2012 Taylor Swift (2006) Fearless (2008) Speak now (2010) Red (2012) 1989 (2014) Reputation (2017) Lover (2019) And folklore & evermore 2020 obviously
I think that was her first pop single on pop radio. red was the first single on country radio from the album. Not quite sure though. I remember hearing red on country radio.
React to Daylight, it's a response to Red's lyrics, "i once believed love would be (burning red) bur it's golden like daylights,,,,, and Please react to picture to burn
Also, RED is the album title she said because of all the emotions she experienced being intense; intense happiness and intense heartbreak alike. Jake Gyllenhaal is the believed inspiration for a lot of the record, but not all.
Don’t know if someone has already mentioned it, but she actually makes a reference to this song in “Daylight” on Lover. She said “I once believed love would be burning red, but it’s golden like daylight.” The shows how she’s matured and how she went from think love was all passion and excitement, to realizing it’s actually warm and welcoming and to find real love is like having a beautiful treasure that you want to hold on to.
This is a video of clips from the RED tour performances. She has done it with every tour she’s headlined minus “reputation” which she gave us the tour documentary. The songs for each tour are “Fearless” “Sparks Fly” for “Speak Now” “Red” and “New Romantics” for “1989”.....
Red was a transitional album, it was labeled a country album but it was mostly pop and pop-country, she worked with swedish pop mastermind max martin on Red (2 songs), then 1989 and Reputation had lots of Max Martin production on them. You see him working in the studio with Taylor in some of the making of a song videos you've been putting out about Reputation album.
"Losing him was blue like I'd never known." - Really sad "Missing him was dark gray all alone." - Depressed and lonely. "Forgetting him was like tryin' know somebody you never met." - Impossible "But loving him was red." - Burning passion and desire. A love like you'd never known. She stated in the forward of this album that this album is all about all the shades of red love. She also stated that one day, if she found true love, (which she states is the color gold), she would write an album about it. But for now this is about all the shades of red. In the song Daylight from Lover, she states, "I once believed love would be burning red, but it's golden, like daylight." She found her gold love in Joe, and wrote a whole album about it, as she promised 7 years prior.
Explanation for the RED color: “[...] moments of newfound hope, extreme joy, intense passion, wishful thinking, and in some cases, the unthinkable letdown. And in my mind, every one of these memories looks the same to me. I see all of these moments in bright, burning red. And there's something to be learned from waiting all day for a train that's never coming. And there's something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn't fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it. [She did btw. It’s called Lover and there’s a song on there where she literally says she used to believe real love would be red, but it’s golden. It’s one of my favorite lyrics of hers ever.] But this album is about the other kinds of love that I’ve recently fallen in and out of. Love that was treacherous, sad, beautiful, and tragic. But most of all, this record is about love that was red."
Read the Red album prologue (you can find it online) it really explains what she means by "Red feelings". I'd suggest reading all the prologues before getting into the album, they add to it.
I LOVE her color-coding in this song: - Blue = sadness - Dark Gray = emptiness - Red = passionate and dangerous Also, in my opinion, some of her best lyrics ever are in this song: - "Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street/Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly" - "Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free-fall" - "Like the colors in autumn, so bright, just before they lose it all" - "Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met" - "Fighting with him was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there's no right answer" - "Regretting him was like wishing you never found out love could be that strong"
I always thought that the line "losing him was blue like i'd never known" meant that it was just sad, losing him was sad and heartbreaking, the saddest thing she's ever experienced, like before you fall in love you never know that you can be this heartbroken when the love is gone
This music video for the song RED really captivated me as a 14 tear old and was when I started being a fan!! The story telling in this song is so incredible, and it's really fun, and really romantic. I didn't understand as a kid that the performances weren't all from RED and it was clips from different songs, but now I think that was such a great move for a video - it lets everyone see the high quality show TS puts on, her concerts are like huge stage plays with music, and also you can see the amount of people showing up for her concerts and going crazy, which makes other people interested in what the hype about, and her costumes and appearance as a 22-23yr old is incredible. She just looks sensational :)
Fun fact. John Mayer has synaesthesia so he describes music as colours. He describes rock as grey colour. This track is thought to be a bit of reference to him. She subsequently uses colours to represent emotions a lot. Also uses blue for politics and painting a wall with Joe so they’ve drifted over time but interesting how it likely started.
red wasn't the lead single, we're never ever getting back together was... the album red is pretty much a breakup album. taylor said this on a interview this year: "I look back on this [Red] as my true breakup album, every other album has flickers of different things. But this was an album that I wrote specifically about pure, absolute, to the core, heartbreak.”
Dude I suggest you have the lyrics pulled up on another tab or something, ESPECIALLY during a Taylor Swift reaction. There are so many good lyrics that just goes through us.
Agree with all comments below regarding colors. RED is not a love song, it’s a breakup song and a breakup album. The entire album is a breakup album. She references this song in her song Daylight in that, written nearly 10 yrs later, she sings how she once thought love was burning RED, but it’s golden. She now often refers to love as gold or golden. Blue can refer to sadness and hurt, like in this song. But she also now uses the color blue when she sings about Joe who has very blue eyes, and often refers to blue now in that way instead of sadness.
Red is for intense love, and the danger of getting hurt by it (driving a new Maserati down a dead end street). Blue is sadness. Like someone saying “why so blue?” when you’re sad- not that many people say that anymore haha. And you’ve got dark grey right- if someone leaves you, the feeling of missing someone can send you into a deep depression. I love your reactions!!❤️❤️👏🏼
So for every era she does a tour video (a compilation video of moments during tour). For RED it was this video. Sparks Fly was the tour video for Speak Now tour.
Red as in it was emotional in a young immature hurtful way in the good and bad part, it was an extreme on both ends of the spectrum and it burned her out to the degree that it was better to end it despite the fact that there were good things about it. The blue and dark grey are about the sadness. While now she compares love with joe to golden like the daylight that shone upon/ along with her changed improved self and life and surrounded her with warm peaceful love that was the opposite of the young red love that wasn’t healthy for her. That’s how i see it
I don't understand why people are always tryna categorize her sound??? Like she doesn't have a genre she's just herself and she just makes whatever damn music she feels like. Also dude this video is just random clips from the RED tour there isn't really anything deeper lol and Red the song is the title track but it wasn't the lead single, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was the lead single
This was great, I always watch your ts reactions. Love them! You should react to the reputation tour on Netflix, her lover live performance at the VMAs, Cornelia st live, and more. You should react to her live more, she tells a story with facial expressions! Thank you for making reactions to her music! :)
Think about the colour red. It's associated with love and nice roses and passion... But it is also the blood the rose thornes give you and red is also a warning sign. It's both.
I think the word red is an analogy for everything the color stands for: passionate and incredibly strong but also hurtful and cruel and for her I guess, like she says in the song, very intense right before it suddenly ends ("like the colors in autumn" lol). Probably also anger and fury but she doesn't mention it specifically. And a lot like fire (fire = red), fascinating and beautiful and burning very bright but dangerous and flickery and unpredictable and so hot it can burn you up. And all in all not very healthy even though it draws you in and it was so intense you can't forget it. And not cupids. No cupids. "I used to believe love was burning red but it's golden, like daylight"
Will you react to the album Red and her other albums as well? I really like to see that. I think it would be interesting if you would go backwards till her debut. Wait. You haven't reacted to Lover have you?
Please react TAYLOR SWIFT - LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO REPUTATION TOUR it gives you a goosebumps and many reactions!!! THANKYOUUUU I HOPE YOU READ THIS...
You're messing up the lyrics which is why they're confusing you. Love is not blue, the lyric is "losing him was blue" because love ending or missing someone can be depressing or blue. There's a reason an entire genre of music is called the Blues. It's really cool to see the progression of how Taylor views love through her songs. Love Story came out in 2008 and it's a fairy tale. Red in 2012 and it's fast like a Maserati, passionate and fiery. And now in Folklore and Evermore it's golden, warm, safe.
