Is honestly such a gut punch of a line. 3.5 minuets of her explaining how much he hurt her...how it literally broke her to have him leave her, all for her to say that if he changed his mind she would still want him. And let's not ignore that the chorus starts with the word 'help'. She's literally begging him to help her because she can't do it herself!

This song doesn't need a MV. It's already playing in everyone's head when they hear it.

The best song Taylor has ever written, just so spot on about all stages of adult heartbreak, feeling like everyone is moving on but you, that everyone around you minimizes your pain - 'breakups happen everyday, you don't have to lose it' -, replaying the same scenarios in your head over and over again, asking what have you done, because it has to be you, he moved on, you're the one still stuck. Absolute perfection.

Or a partner or ex-partner who’s out there moving on with his life, and you’re stuck right where they left you. It’s difficult to keep everything the same way you wanted when the world revolves to anybody else’s time and you have no choice or control but to see them moving forward without you. Outgrowing somebody is the same as heartbreak. You can’t force them to be around, or ask how things weren’t the same way as before. You’ll move on, too. But, what’s more painful is when you have to build another form of relationship just for it to be outgrown again.

Back in 2012, I experienced my first heartbreak at 21. A three year long relationship, high school sweethearts that just grew up. He said I'd find someone better. He's married with a family. I'm still searching for what better is. I have moved on, but I'm still stuck.

I sobbed when I first heard this song… Because I was the person she is singing about. It has taken me 1/2 decade to get over a break up. It felt like forever … and thinking about it now, it really didn’t need to consume my life back then, but it really did. Especially when the person left you for someone else, which means they found someone better than you. It absolutely shatters your self esteem, and you have to work so hard to get it back. The lyric “help” - it says so much for someone living through such thing.

I love how at 2:21 the perspective changes from her sitting at that restaurant broken up, to a flashback where she used to sit there with her lover when everything was “just right”. It’s haunting.

Been listening to this song since the day it released but I never thought I'm gonna relate to this song until... I fell inlove with this girl, I love her so much that I am willing to do everything for her pursue her and everything. We've been talking for about almost 3 months ig? (I know it's not that long.) I love everything about her even her anger issues HAHAHHAHA I want to give her everything because I know she deserve it. It's their finals right now and they'll be having a face to face exam on Saturday so I decided to surprise her (but she found out about the surprise so it's not a surprise anymore), I made a handmade paper flower bouquet, a handmade plushy, and bought her favorite snacks and drinks but I never got a chance to give it to her. Today, at exactly 12:16 am she chatted me and asked me to please not go to her school on Saturday because she didn't want me to see her in her most vulnerable and messy state because she said that there's a chance that she might treat me badly 'cause she doesn't have the energy to deal with people. I’ve been in a dark place for a little over a year and the stormy skies are finally lifting I think. I’m going to trust how I’m feeling and focus on being happy again.

I think for me this is Taylor's most terrifying song or one of. Imagine being stuck in a moment or a feeling while everyone around you continue with their own lives and grow.

This song hits hard when you’re trying to get yourself out of depression caused by a traumatic event. I feel like the girl who got frozen, and the girl who lives in delusion. Everyone around me has simply moved on and is living their life but for some reason I’m still stuck in the traumatic moment. I can’t do anything or go anywhere. The “help I’m still at the restaurant” part really hits every time. Thank you Taylor for this beautiful song and for making me feel understood, I don’t feel as crazy after I listen to it.

I’d like to thank Taylor for this song. Taylors music was there for my daughter in a time she really needed help, but wouldn’t let me in. We dropped a chunk going to you concert in Glendale, but seeing her heal was worth it 1 million fold. Thank you!

I still can't believe how gut-wrenching this song is. If you've ever lost someone extremely close to you, you know exactly what she's talking about that feeling of never being able to move on even the idea of moving on is unrealistic because you're literally frozen in time. The world keeps going about it's day but you're right where you were when your heart shattered into a million pieces, the pieces shattered so abundantly that no amount of time could possibly heal or put them back together ever. In my case, it's been a little over a year since my beloved mother passed away but it genuinely doesn't feel like it's been even a day since that happened. Which is ironic because I remember just freezing when I got the news I didn't even tear up until of course a couple hours later when it all hit and I broke down crying but those couple hours they seemed like an entire lifetime your whole life flashing before your eyes knowing you're never going to hear that voice or see that smile. The person that raised you, that shaped you into who you are, that endless amount of love and appreciation it's all gone in one quick second just like that, your world shifts and it's never going to be the same again. I think this song is the closest thing that has encapsulated that feeling for me. So thank you Taylor for this beautiful piece of art.

I can relate to this song so much... all i see in life is people constantly growing up and knowing what to do next whereas you have people that are struggling to move forward because they're not over a specific moment in time. Maybe regrets on something you wished you could've done back then or just yearning about how carefree the past is then being consumed by melancholy... its a rly scary thing to feel about

This song made me realize that I've been living as a ghost all this time. Haunting places, people, and moments that are long gone. They've moved on while I'm still here, stuck in the places they left me remembering them in songs... Edit: It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this, made me feel less alone. To all those going through the same thing, it does get better. It takes time and pain but it get's better. Take solace in this song and take care of yourself.
