Good-bye’s are hard when the love is still there along the way, but alas one sided to the alcoholic who chooses the booze and you have to walk away. This is my first time listening to this song. I have liked some of TS since she began. I will admit I have gotten more interested in her and her music especially the past 6 months. This song had me in tears. When I want to listen to a song closely., to hear every word I always have my headphones. I am listening this at 4:26am on a rainy JanuaryWednesday morning. The white horse took me back to one of her earlier songs. What late 2000’s I think it was. I like the way her music comes full circle. It tells how there is a time in your life that you do believe in true love, you are on top of the world. Many this could be their first true love. Some people marry their first true love however people don’t stay the same, we change everyday. Some couples can adapt to the changes in relationships. However some feel that people out grow one another, the love is there but it changes. When that happens I think we tend to find things in our partner that we didn’t notice before, if we did we just put it to the side no one is perfect right??? That we get to a point in our lives that we ask do we continue living the way we’re doing and sacrifice our own happiness for someone else’s happiness or do we do what we need to and search for our happiness. People want to feel they accomplished something in life and they wasn’t something that people can see that represents that. When people get into their 40s I think people start looking at more. I think that is one reason why people who have been married I will say 15-20 plus years whose children are now adults living their own lives. The parents are like what do I do now? I think this is where a lot of marriages do dissolve because they are not the same people, now they are rediscovering themselves. I think that is one reason quite a few divorce couples do end up being good friends. They still have kids, now possibly grandkids. The mutual love that they have for their family is still there. I think TS songs can relate to the kids, then the teenagers in high schools….. from there the 20s, 30s, 40s, so on……her music is more relatable to people who thinks she is just a teenage bopper…. No she writes and articulates her stories into music……. Okay enough let me go own to the next song!!!!
I've never heard this song before, i'm not saying it's not sad, but one of the saddest songs i've heard about "losing a love" is Sarah McLachlan's 'I Don't Know How To Let You Go'. It described what I was feeling so perfectly I couldn't cry when I heard it.
