I've been using them since 2013... 6 years of awesome golfing. It's time for me to upgrade myself with some blades. Thanks Mark!

I still play with these and have a 7 handicap. I don't think upgrading my clubs will make much a difference, maybe fitted clubs, but in 2024 I'm still happy with my rbz irons and RBZ driver. M4 3-wood.

I do believe the RBZ are a game improvement (GI) set, which would gain the user extra yards on their shots, maybe why it feels different to someone more experienced, but for someone like myself who's only played 20-30 rounds it's probably a good confidence booster, if nothing else. Us newer or less-practiced golfers may not always choose the right club for our distance or swing the right speed for a club, so the forgiveness of these irons is likely welcome. I think if that is their intended purpose they did quite well, as most amateur or newer golfers' main goal is to gain a slightly better score than their previous game. If that is what happens with these clubs, then bravo to Taylormade for catering to all segments of players.

Thanks for this vid....just picked up a set of RBZ's at Sports Authority close-out sale, so I got a pretty good deal. At my stage of the game (56 years old, mid to high handicapper), this set seemed like a good fit. I was right. Prior to this set, I'd been playing with quite literally my grandfather's set (Titleist AC-108), which I love (still carry the PW from that set), but the RBZ's are very forgiving, and since I tend to launch the ball pretty high, I'm happy with the fact that the 4 iron is spec'd closer to a 3, and so on....I've also taken to hitting a harder, less spinney ball, and that has helped too. Nice to know that the irons feel decent in the hands of a pro....

I was already breaking 90 most times I played with an assortment of old 15 year old irons(Dynamo, LVS). I also Already had the Rocketballz Driver from last year and so I figured let me try these irons as well; they were only 150 bucks at Play it Again Sports. I instantly went from high 80's low 90's to mid 80's to high 80's and even shot an 82 and an 84 the last two times I played. Amazing to me was the impact that the technology of these irons has over those old irons in terms of feel, distance and also soft spot on the club.. I would recommend these to anyone with a mid to high handicap or someone who shoots 85 to 90. I bet that they would really notice a difference if you are using older irons like I was.

Mark, thank you for the video! Highly recommend these clubs! Have 6-SW iron set, including approach wedge with 50 degrees (as sandwedge has 55 loft and pitchwedge 45). 6 iron has the same distance as my old 5 iron. All the balls jump from the club face. Unbelievable!! All the shots are stright, high and long!! I also have RBZ driver (HL), 5wood (19) and rescue (25). All are very forgiving!! For sure, my hdc will get lower very soon!!

nice and informative, I bought a set getting into the sport. I bought them thinking they were a good overall club, and could continue to use them as my skills got better.I have been to the driving range now for the past three days trying to get my swing down and still haven't hit a single good shot with the fairway woods but the iron are good.

Well I've played for the past 5 years with callaway big bertha04 irons(10 handicap), went for an independent fitting, tried quite a few clubs ,mizuno jpx800,Calloway razr, Wilson di11, Cleveland cg16 and the rocketballz. The rocketballz came on top, could hit them longer and straighter than all the others and with the stiff shaft the shot dispersion was a lot tighter. For the price they were perfect for my swing.all I suggest is get custom fitted!

Although I would say that since I've just paid £300 for them! Outting is next Sunday, I'll report back on my performance with them.

I hit a few balls with the 6 and the 4 down at the range and loved the feel. I realise the 6 is playing more like a 5, but I got 185 with it 10 balls in a row, all straight and consistent. That's amazing for me. :)

@KZN7 you can find these irons for $339.99- $499.99 for a beginner I would use something more like the burners if you like taylormade, they are game improvement clubs that offer alot of help no matter what shot. Good luck and enjoy your golfing

Also don't worry about the look or the name of the rocketballa, hit the club and then judge them! I fell in love with the look of the Wilson ci11 black irons so brought some of the shelf, couldn't hit them for toffee. Probably not suited to the shaft rather than the club itself. Ended up selling them for a big loss on Ebay, but like I said on the other comment get a fitting! Especially if you 6ft 4 like myself.

This totally makes sense, i tee'd up for a 165 yard par 3 with my seven and hit it over the green by quite a bit. I couldn't believe it haha, i though it was the magic shot. That is until i came home and pulled up this video to find the 7 hits long... still cool to bust your friends butts you can out hit their 7 any day :)

I'm torn between these and the Burner 2.0. Mark's review of the Burner 2.0's had less "if's, but's and maybe's" than this review. So I'm not sure. RBZ's are £50 dearer than the Burners, but Burners are 3 years old now. Any advice?

I recently purchased these and Mark is correct. They average a half inch longer and 2 degrees stronger than my previous 2012 Mizuno JP825 irons except for the 9-GW which were exactly the same. Being 6'4" I needed that little extra length on most of the clubs. Forgiveness is a little better on the Taylormades, too.

I picked up a set of Burner 2.0 irons at Edwin Watts not too long ago, when TaylorMade put out their RBZ irons, I thought that they looked just like the 2.0 irons I had. I tested out the RBZ irons, literally no difference, in feel or distance. They'll even say on their website that the difference in the 6 iron distance is maybe 3 yards. The 2.0 set was on clearance for $350. So if you want to save money, go with the Burners, if you want the name and want to spend an extra $400, go with RBZ.
@neova2
@neova2 12 лет назад
I know the distance claims ate bogus as Taylormade takes a 6-iron and puts a 7 stamping on the sole, but then again credit must be given to them for making a 6-iron as easy to hit as a 7! Psychologically we all feel more confident hitting our shorter irons so it helps.

What is the difference between the HL and HP models of these irons?
@winstonharrington2753
@winstonharrington2753 8 лет назад
+Villmark69tron HL clubs mean they are High Launch. This makes sense as Mark discusses he is getting a higher trajectory on the seven iron than expected but sounds like he is still getting the distance of a traditional six iron. HP simply means High Polish. Same club, just a polished finish vs. the standard matte finish. I just bought a set of these after reading reviews and after three trips to the range, I am extremely happy with them. If you are replacing an existing set, Mark is correct in that you will need to learn the clubs before hiting the course. They do travel higher and farther than the same iron from a standard set of clubs.
@Villmark69tron

Only issue with these clubs, is the durability. Don't get me wrong, in 2016 these irons are a bang for your buck if you can get them, however they do go through the wear and tear factor more quickly. Also rusts easy to be sure to keep them clean and dry.

@Mububban23
@Mububban23 12 лет назад
Because TaylorMade are marketing geniuses, and they understood that Rocketballz will be so bizarre and different that it will get people talking, just like we are doing now. "There's no such thing as bad publicity" and it's true with TM and RBZ, it's a name that sticks in the mind easier than Di11 or CG16 or MP-53 etc.
@Mububban23
@Mububban23 12 лет назад
If you have the money and are happy to spend it, the RBZ would be great. But if you are more budget minded, the Burners are still a great club, and in isolation you'll never know the difference as you won't be hitting back to back. Plus with the money you save, you can buy other clubs, get some lessons, golf shoes, different types of balls to try etc etc.

Marketing junk aside, and let me say now I hate the jacked up lofts on modern GI/SGI clubs - why would you ignore TM as a manufacturer? They make solid products that work well, if not as magically as marketing would have us believe. Why ignore them completely when shopping for gear? It's not like the clubs themselves feel or perform like rubbish. p.s. I use Wilson, Cobra, Cleveland, Callaway and Odyssey so I'm no TM fanboy.
