If you have a blow dryer and some tweezers you should be able to get that sticker off your book. Just heat up the sticker with the blow dryer and slowly pull it up as the glue melts with the tweezers. After that use some rubbing alcohol applied to a cotton ball to remove any lingering sticky left on the cover of the book. Since the alcohol evaporates so quickly it won't damage the paper of the book.
