I hope you love A Man Called Ove!!!!! Okay I’m seeing This is How You Lose A Time War EVERYWHERE!! I think I need to give that read a shot! These books all sound great! I hope you enjoy them all!!!
@@subhareadsbooks Thank you 😊 I haven’t gotten very far in How you lose the time war, and so far I’m very confused, but that might be a me thing 😂 Go for it!
I found Parable of the Sower in a free little library a while back. I feel like it’s going to be a 5 star read, so naturally I’ve been postponing picking it up. I’m glad your reading this book as part of your book club as it’s going to motivate me to read it as well
You have some great books there! 1984, Parable of the Sower, A Man Called Ove are the ones I know from this batch, and they are all excellent! Happy July Reading!
Haha those are all the book club ones! You are ahead of the game, as always 😊 I’m excited for all of them. I thought the pile turned out a bit weird but now that I’m looking at the stack, it looks pretty good!
That's a great list. 1984 is one of those books that I'm glad I've read but I don't think I could read it again. It's hard hitting and challenging- in a good way!
Thanks! I’m bracing myself, everyone says it’s challenging in some way. I’m looking forward to it though, it’s one of those books you are just supposed to have read, I feel like. Thanks for being here 😊💜
Loved A Man Called Ove and 1984 when I rad it in school (time for a reread). And I's love to read Parable of the Sower. "Long" fits perfectly with your Big Book Summer read! The Hunger Games is dystopian - so, yes, that is considered sci fi :) It's also outstanding! You haven't read it yet? I really want to read This Is How You Lose the Time War - I love time travel! Enjoy them all!
@@SueJacksonDE Perfect, you are welcome to join and read along if you want! Right? I feel like that was meant to go for that and I didn’t need to choose another one! Besides, I had two because As long as the lemon trees grow is also over 400 pages! I haven’t read The Hunger games! I have see the first movie, maybe the second one, but I would really like to read it at some point. I’m reading This is how you lose the time war no, listening to the audiobook, and I’m very confused! But it’s short so I’ll push through. Might need to get a physical copy though. Let me know if you join in on any of the books! 😊 I hope you have a great month of reading either way!
Yeah, excited to hear what you think about Parable of the Sower! Oooh This Is How You Lose The Time War is a perfect choice!!! I'm already planning to read it for Christie Anne Jones' Patreon book club ^^
I just found a copy of A man called Ove at the thrift store so I'm joining you for the book club read. Can't wait :) You've got some excellent choices as well from the jar!
I'm planning on reading "A Man Called Ove" for July. Also, I had wanted to read "The Wager" in June, but it did not happen, so I am carrying that one over to July. I will be listening to "A Prayer for Own Meany" in July on audiobook in July - several of us are buddy reading it with Pat @BookChatWithPat
Sounds good, I’m happy you’re joining again, in whatever way works for you! 😊 I’m carrying As long as the lemons trees grow over as well, have a bit left to go in that. Buddy read sounds fun! I don’t know what the book is, I must have missed that! I hope you’ll enjoy it though 😊 (Looked the book up, maybe fun isn’t the right word! But you know what I mean :)
@@Danni.Dabbles How come? I think his books are emotional but I don’t think you need to be intimidated! There is humor as well, subtle maybe, but it’s there ^^ No rush though! You’ll be welcome to join the discussion whenever you get to it! Thanks for watching! 😊
Ooh, those are some interesting books. I might join with A Man Called Ove, but my TBR is very over-ambitious (as usual), so it'll depend on if i manage to get to it
some great choices there! ❤ I think dystopian is considered a sub-genre of scifi, so The Hunger Games would definitely have worked. But I‘ve had This Is how How You Loose The Time War (never sure with this title either) on my radar for quite some time, so I‘m looking forward to hearing your thoughts 😊
Yes, I checked in goodreads after filming and it does say Science fiction on there, so I could have picked that! But I needed some audiobooks anyway, so I think the Time War one will be good for this month! I’ve started it and am very confused so far, but I’ll report back eventually! 😊💜
Interesting! Did you read the other books in the series, or what were the other two books? I think there are three books in the earthseed series, right? Thank you, I hope so too! If I get through all of them, my boyfriend promised to make me a three course dinner 😂
@ellenmadebookclub I think it is just a duology. The other two were Wild Seed (very good but made me so angry, not sure if I will continue that series anytime soon) and Fledgling. I read Kindred the month before. I am late to the party but can completely understand the hype. You'll have to hold your boyfriend to it and get that three course dinner!
@@tibbarasden Yes you’re right, it’s a duology! Kindred is definitely next on my list. It is hard reading the things that make us angry. It feels important but there has to be some balance as well, to keep us going. Haha I will, I just have to get through the books first! 😂
Thunder in JULY? Me living in California... what is water 😂 Now it makes sense why it's so green there! A recommendation for Sci-Fi is the murderbot diaries for Audiobook for the future! I heard it's pretty good 👀 Hunger Games is considered dystopian, I believe! I can't wait to see what you think about 1984!! I'm going to read that after I'm done with my library loans 😂
Haha oh yes, there is almost always rain on the horizon here! It can get dry during the summer, but mostly there’s rain 😂 There’s a classic Swedish summer anthem called Summer is short and the lyrics go (roughly) “Summer is short, most of it rains away, but it’s here now, so enjoy it, the sun’s shining today” 😂 It was on the radio as I drove to the cabin and any Swede will know the lyrics! Anyway!!! I don’t have murderbot on any audiobook app unfortunately! Yes, THG would have been sci fi, but my silly little brain doesn’t know things like that! 😁 I’m looking forward to see what I and YOU actually think of 1984! 😂 You’d better get to it or I’ll send you to JAIL by saying ellenmade book club book club pick three times in a row!
@@ellenmadebookclub Love that there's rain! We have a lot of dry heat, and honestly going out doesn't feel as nice since we just see dead grass here 😭Of course also the wild fires in the fall. NOOOOO I promise that I'll actually read it 😂😭 You somehow made a tongue twister for your channel. It should be a challenge for all those who watch you to give it a try!!
@@itsmimiduong I can imagine! The wild fires are horrible, they really should not be a thing. Yes that wasn’t my intention but I see how it came to be one ^^ But let’s just replace the second “book club” with the month! Problem solved! 👏😊
Love how you made your boyfriend leave before you moved on in the video, I feel that 😂😂 And fully support the decision to not add another long book, summer is not the time for that! Also I just noticed that it said on the cover of Parable of the Sower that it pairs well with 1984 and I don’t know if that was intentional but that works out really well, haha. I’m definitely excited for the July book club picks and otherwise I’m just feeling like mood reading! But I still want to do the TBR jar so who knows what my July TBR will look like 😬😆
Haha I’m so awkward filming in front of him! 😂 Or anyone obviously, but you would think it was at least comfortable with someone you live with. I’m working on it haha! Imagine you had to speak another language as well! 😆 I cut out the part where I shout up the stairs to make sure he couldn’t hear me 😂 Thank you for your support! I feel like I have long books as it is. I’ve noticed that too on Parable of the Sower, I’m not sure they meant “read these at the same time for happy summer” but we’ll see how it goes! I felt the same with a tbr for this month, but you could always do a pile of possibilities pick, just for fun. I don’t know why it’s so much fun picking words out of a jar, it just is! 💜
@@ellenmadebookclub haha I totally get it and yeah the language part doesn’t make it any easier!! My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years and there’s no way I would record in front of him, I don’t even want him to hear me from the other room 😂😂 Yeah you picked some great, light-hearted summer books haha! And that’s very true, I had to do at least a couple tbr jar prompts but I like the pile of possibilities 😊
@@LibrariesandLattes We’re going on year 13 😂 It’s ridiculous! We’ll get there one day! Good thing he actually picked a (relatively) lighthearted book to mix in with the tragedy and dystopia though!
@@ellenmadebookclub oh wow, well you here us beat!! Might never change then 😂😂 And yes very true, gotta have some sort of light summer reading mixed in there!
The prompt of having your boyfriend choose a book is something I've thought about, but it could either be a great idea or a really bad one 😅 Also things have been so busy lately, I feel like I'm so behind on watching videos. Trying my best to catch up ❤
Haha what can I say, I’m living in the edge! 😂 Of course, life happens! Please don’t feel behind on watching videos! Watch what you want to watch when you want to watch it! So much pressure on us already, just enjoy 😊 Thank you for spending some of your time watching my video, I do appreciate it. But never any pressure to keep up! 💜
@@ellenmadebookclub you really are! But the book he picked looks interesting, so I hope you enjoy ❤ hahaha but what if I want to watch it all? 😅 but truly there never is any pressure, I love watching your videos🥰
@@goodmornindreamer Well that’s a different thing! 😊 I might be projecting! I feel behind on things too, books and videos and all of that, but it would feel better, for me, to say I have so many videos to look forward to, rather than feeling behind. Just makes it sound like work to me! But you do you! 😁

The whole time watching, I was wondering if long could mean the book that has been on your shelves the longest...like a long wait, or long anticipation. 🤔🫠. Anyway, great choices, can't wait to hear your thoughts.
