I’m a brand new pilot a month old , and my Crossfire just came today! Thank you for your Video’s it was my go to for setup right out of the box. Updated it and installed it on my Jumper t-12 , connected that with the Beta 115hx with crossfire . Up and Flying, Huge help Many thanks.

Hey Lee, as you probably know there is an even easier way to do it that cuts out all the messing around scrolling through various screens and menus on the Tx to find the correct setting to adjust. Just set all your controls/switches to the positions you desire for FS then simply select Failsafe function on the XF Tx unit and press....job done.

Great post Lee,thanks to your paetron for the question,that combo with Taranis and Crossfire is bulletproof,been using it for years,and with Ezuhf as well,never had any issues. Your Channel is 2nd to none.

Love your videos. Any chance of doing some examples of the Crossfire's beacon mode? I can't find anyone that has shown some examples of using the beacon mode of the crossfire receiver to find your downed wing or quad. I'm getting ready to build a Caipirinha 2 with a Crossfire Diversity Nano, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about stuff like this so if I do crash somewhere far away, and the battery ejects, I can still find my investment.

I’ve been wondering what is the set failsafe in the tx is for. Thanks!

Awesome tip. I guess I have to repeat the process for all the rx I have ? Or the tx updates whatever rx it's binded to, on the first connection?
@Painless360
@Painless360 3 года назад
You can change it when the receiver is connected and it'll update it. Try it and see.. Best of luck!

Great video - failsafe is such an important topic but can be confusing to even the most experienced pilots. Your videos are awesome and help reduce the confusion. Would there be enough material for an overview of failsafe types & modes? Failsafe on the Tx, Failsafe on the Rx, and Failsafe in flight controllers. Pros and cons of each. IIRC, for example, failsafe needs to be set when a Rx is bound, so any time we need to change the Rx we need to reset failsafe. Are there specific situations when one might choose No Pulse vs Hold vs Custom on the Tx? Again, awesome stuff - thanks, Lee!

@@Painless360 OK - did see that one and totally slipped my mind. Thanks for the reminder! Also thanks for the reminders to everyone - these features can and should be tested easily before being needed. Cheers!

What about the other ch(s) like sticks? Will they also follow the positions as they're when you hit the FS set?

I'm still confused :) , how do you setup failsafe with crossfire and ardupilot? I cannot get ardupilot to detect that I turn of the radio in ardupilot. I have it set to cut signal in case of failsafe, but that does not seem to work. Could you shed some light on setting failsafe between crossfire and ardupilot? I'm using a matek f765 wing.
@Painless360
@Painless360 4 года назад
Use SBUS. Lots of options for failsafe; via sbus failsafe flag, no pulses or setting a channel value that goes outside the range for normal in mission planner. No difference for Crossfire. See the Ardupilot docs on failsafe and my Ardupilot builds... best of luck

@@Painless360 Thanx, I will give it a shot. It's currently set to PPM, that might be the problem.

I have x9d se 2019 can you make a quick video to enable tbs crosf
@Painless360
@Painless360 4 года назад
You'll need to re-flash it with OpenTX as FrSky don't add the support for Crossfire sadly.. Such a shame they can't do what pilots want..

How do you regain control ?
@Painless360
@Painless360 3 года назад
You need to be back to receiving enough of a signal. Could be via a fail-safe RTH or the model moving into a better orientation for the antenna..
@Madginger2112
@Madginger2112 3 года назад
My problem is that the quad comes back, turn tail in, but does not land... (it does when manual RTH switch)... so when i power back on the radio (tango2) the only reaction i can get is when i thr to 0 or disarm... both drop the quad from 5 meters...
@Painless360
@Painless360 3 года назад
Make sure the radio is set to armed/throttle up for the reconnection, Ideally with the RTH mode selected too.. Best of luck
