Thanks for the video, you answered a ton of questions I had about my new build. The tip about the 3d printed parts was super helpful, thanks for that in particular! Subbed!
I was able to mount my vista securely. I took an M2 screw and threaded a washer on it and it will not pass through the M3 hole. Mount another washer and it will secure the m2 post in the frame and will alow the vista to sit off the frame a bit for some air flow under the air unit. put a washer at the top of the vista to lock it down and should be all set. repeat for other three holes.. Cheers
Ah some nuts or m2 washers would be a great idea to mount a 20x20 at the rear. Tho I wanna caution you about grounding your frame which causes poor video feed if your m2 screws are metal and passing through the vista mount holes. I covered this in a previous video if you have a moment to check it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GP_RNWKytnE.html
do you need separate screws for the motors to sit comfortably on its thick frame? im thinking of getting xilo stealth 2207 motors and i dont know if their screws are long enough. thanks
I would say make sure the arms are filpped the right side up and at the correct angle. Currently haveing to redo this because my arm were too close to the body and the props were touching lol
I would start with your preferred online shopping platform. Searching “m3 screw” “30mm” as keywords If your looking for physical shops, maybe 3d printing shops or hardware/ computer shops might land you some screws
Here you go bro. Im not an experienced 3d modeler but here's what I whipped up: drive.google.com/drive/folders/16YFVfKVYL81ctArBzX9U6x5JKxHHx72W?usp=sharing Bumper type arms - bumper you saw in this video. Skids Focused arms - a new one I modified for a friend, its taller for better protection of the bottom of frame. XT60 's also in there As well as a modified gopro mount I made which I think is good.
Thanks for this video. I have a v5 frame on the way for my next build. I don't have a 3d printer. Any idea if anyone is selling the 3d printed parts for the V5 yet? Thanks again for your review and help.
One way is to search for a 3d printer guy who’s offering services online at your locality. Gather thingiverse.com (free) links to models by searching ‘source one v5’ and sort the results by newest. Get a quote for TPU prints for these. Compare it against searching for online shops selling source one v5 3d print sets. (I don’t think there are any official ones) What’s your locality man?
Hey thanks for your reply. I have been building drones for about five years now and I'm aware of the common stores both here in the USA and In China. I also have been doing searches for a while now and have only come up with the information to print my own parts. Since this frame is becoming popular amongst builders and enthusiasts, I was hoping someone came up with the printed parts for sale by now. Thank you again for this video and you help. Best of luck to you. P.S. I'm in Miami Florida USA
I've not owned the v3 so I have no comment on that. The Source one v5 - The arms are unbreakable based off the flights i do, tho my back deck cracked recently and I cant order the piece alone, had to just order a second frame. Clone Apex - I think is overall cheaper if you order from AliExpress. I personally use the ReadytoSky version. - they do sell arms separately like the S1V5, and Its actually cheaper than the S1V5 - I think it's a damn good frame in all other aspects, just disassembing it is a pain, if I crash into mud and have to open and clean, it's much more elaborate and terious compared to s1v5 - Only reason I dont fly it as often is an ego thing about the whole 'clone' frame I guess..

I have two S1V5s and just checked, yeah! one remained stiff but the other has arms moving, I never noticed it affecting my flights but when I hold it down and stress it, it wiggles. Seems to be the carbon issue, A bunch of guys on reddit seem to be reaching out to TBS about this to get replacement arms. Maybe you should too! www.reddit.com/r/Multicopter/comments/vwgvrs/tbs_source_one_v5_arm_movementwiggling_after/?context=3
It’s the one named bumper in here: drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/16YFVfKVYL81ctArBzX9U6x5JKxHHx72W?usp=sharing It’s my old design which I was not happiest, the bumpers are helpful but the skidding height was too short I’m currently using this design from someone else www.thingiverse.com/thing:5516214
So the camera mount takes a nano not a mini igot a foxeer mini razor and it seems a little to big for it or does it fit well havent really tried to put it on
Correct. It's measured to fit Nano 19mm width. I've previously tried putting the original DJI camera 21mm width and it doesnt fit. So to answer your question, the Foxeer Mini razor 28mm width will not fit. I'd reco to try searching for a 3d printed camera mount.
it comes with the Source one V5 Frame Kit, You could read it listed on the product listing, under hardware; www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:sourceone_v5
Also, if your looking for standoffs alone, I’ll suggest this listing on AliExpress I’ve previously ordered from if you need a specific measurement stand-off for any of your needs a.aliexpress.com/_mrsGEdU
hey, I don't order those online, I buy physically because It's very readily available at Hardware & bookshops, plus I prefer to see it physically because some of the ziptie heads are too big and makes the build shoddy
Hi tan, is there a way i can contact you privately? I’m Eugene from Klang as well. I just started fpv and building my first fpv drone which is tbs source one v5 but i couldn’t find much info about this particular frame.
Yeah man, I do not own the v3, but reading the spec sheet the source one v5 has thicker arms with 6mm. The arms are not longer. Both v3 and v5 arms have a wheelbase of 226mm for the 5 inch version. Which flys 5.1 propellers comfortably. The width of the v5 arm sits three motor wire comfortably, but not wide enough to protect single escs compared to the v3
