This loss hit me at an all time high being the fan that I am, she died at the peak of her career. We didn’t get to see her become legendary. Today she would of been 41 and by this time I would assume she would’ve had multiple Grammys, clothing lines, Oscars, top charting albums, been on tour at least 5 times , married with kids. I’ll never get over this loss man, the way she went just wasn’t right, wasn’t fair.😩🕊🤧❤️

Exactly , Knowing she would have wanted her fans to have access to her music . I remember her saying on her MTV Diary Episode she said after she was happy with her music that she wanted to put it out to please her fans because it was all about them . She would be highly disappointed to find out that her uncle and her cousin were keeping her music from us . They should put it out to help continue with Aaliyah's Legacy . Well the day I have kids , my children will definitely know Aaliyah and her music that IS out and hopefully love her music just as much as their mommy does ♥️ 💯 💯 It will played all throughout my house along with the rest of some other Incredible Musicians .

One thing that I really loved about Aaliyah and that people rarely mention, is how humble she was! Beautiful, flawless woman but she didn’t let that stop her from complimenting someone else! Even when she became a celebrity, she still kept that down-to-earth, kind, humble personality. And for that, is why I will always be a fan!!! If only other women and celebrities could be that way. She didnt deserve to go like that. Just imagine how everyone felt seeing their death infront of them? All the evil people in this world & aaliyah had to go like that? It sucks man She wasnt even supposed to leave that day. Filming was done early so she left. I could understand if she was ill our old but *NO!* she was perfectly healthy & had to be taken out of nowhwere. Shes just that girl. PompadourJohnson23 y do people think that commenting she’s irrelevant or the synonymous makes those claims true. Not even realizing they themselves just took the time to search, comment, and watch someone whose been dead for almost 2 decades.

How did all 3 of them manage to be wearing the same color? I remember watching this on tv in 2001. Aaliyah had grown so much and it certainly reflected her personality and style! No one could have ever imagined she'd be gone 4 months later.. So sad, I truly miss her..

One of the things I used to love about 106&park and the AJ and Free era was they color coordinated with their set design and guests wardrobe. I remember an interview from back then where their wardrobe stylists Lisa Smith Craig, and Demetrius Armstrong mentioned how it wasn’t just a video show but each show was a visual production.

Her death was one of my earliest memories I was 6 years old my father came from work and told us she passed away I was shocked and still remember the year before we watched Romeo must die and I would always listen to her song try again

Aw, I was 6 too. I remember the day. She was a big part of my family, they always bumped her music. I just remember MTV playing her music all day and everyone being so shocked. One of our neighbours at the time looooooooved Aaliyah, we already knew but he came straight to us to tell her the news and I remember him and my mom just talking outside for hours

I didn't know much about her when she died. I happened to pass by the location where her memorial was taking place, so I went inside. It was very beautiful, some of her songs were playing softly. I have enjoyed her music since then and saddened that such a beautiful spirit left us so soon. One of her last videos, "Rock the boat" where she is swimming up towards the sunlight is hauntingly amazing. I have no doubt she would have became an amazing artist.
