Dude thank you for this! The stop function (around 8:00) is gold for me. Especially when you’re playing and singing. You don’t want to have to focus on holding the button down or clicking twice. I have the single-button Ditto but will more than likely upgrade to the X2
I've watched the 'official' tutorials and even those by 'experts' but I have to say this is the best of all of them. Easy to follow and understand without all the hype. Even this 68 y/o guy can follow it!! Thanks Jake, appreciate your effort.
My daughter bought this a few years ago. I didn't know anything about loopers back then (a little more now). So now I use it. It's pretty basic but this video at least outlined it all for me. I think I'll mover on to a new looper pedal. Thanks man!
There are two small switches inside the battery compartment. The first I don't know about but if you flip the second from the default position the pedal is set so you can overdub directly after you've finished your first loop (Like a default boss looper pedal). Really important option to have if you're planning to record long loops and don't want to wait a whole length of playback time before you can overdub. You even mentioned it when you discussed the long length of the TC Electronic drum tracks. It's hard information to find, I read it in an Internet manual. Can't figure out what the first switch does though...
Jake - thanks so much - my Ditto Looper x2 been sitting on the floor unused for a while despite my best intentions. Your video and the loops at TC Electronics made it like Christmas all over again!
This is the Ultimate Tutorial for the X2. Everything on here. Well, except for the switches inside the battery compartment. Don't know what they're for. Great job.
At about 2:24 he mentions the loop switch having Rec/Play/Dub functionality. That's the default mode for the pedal. If you flip one of the switches (refer to the manual), then it will be put into Rec/Dub/Play mode. As far as the other dip switch is concerned....I can't find any info on that.

Five Star Review Jake. Thank you so much! My x2 seems to keep one (or the last combination of layers) without pushing the switch up to "store" even after powering down the unit. Seeing as the x2 has no bank, it's limited to one "stored" loop at a time with the ability to accept additional layers? I'm going to mess with it to figure out how to access the single stored loop retaining the ability to play around with looping independently without using or disturbing the one stored loop. TC Electronics should buy this review from you. It's easily the best in depth tutorial I've seen to date. Thanks again. Cheers

Had this pedal for ages. I've always used the right foot switch for stopping / deleting and so forgot you could wipe just the most recent overdub by holding the left switch. Very useful. One minor point I find it keeps my loops during power off even if I don't specifically 'store' them. I think storing is just for transfer to PC/Mac

Good job and thanks for the lesson. Cleared up my questions about my X2. A quick story about the Reecho pedal. Actually just the word . I had to read it in a sentence when I was in 2nd grade. To my second grade mind it was pronounced as 2 syllables “ reech-o” not three syllables “re-ech-o”. I had to keep rereading it and the class was cracking up. That stupid word fucking traumatized me for life. Rock on!
Jake you did such a good job covering this pedal, I decided not to buy it because it can only hold one loop at a time rendering it useless in a live setting. Thank you for such a detailed demo. Cheers
Clear and concise review! I like having that single-stop button feature. I should add that the single-button stereo looper version can be set up for single stop by adding a tap button but it goes into the stereo input which renders the stereo outs as two mono signals --bummer. That's why this version is the best!
one of thee BEST demo video i've ever seen on RU-vid !! GREAT job buddy...you should do demovideos on EVERY pedal, 'cause most demo videos the guys just show off their guitar playing ( pretty much theyALL SOUND THE SAME )....

Jake you did an awesome job explaining and training on how to use the Ditto X2. I also learned that because I can only store one backing track at a time, that I really don't need it for my purposes. For example, Beat Buddy gives you a digital original drum tracks that you can use. But playing with the download feature every time means taking it off the pedal board every time. Not what I want. Again great job! Keep up the good work.

Jake, I’ve owned a Ditto X2 Looper for a least a year or more and never used it. I have been staring at it, wanting to know how to use it for all that time. Now that I’ve found your video, I’m ready to do just that. Thanks! The only question I have is can I use is on a Spark amp?
