www.tcelectron... Every guitar player recognizes the thick, syrupy tones of their favorite ‘60s guitar heroes blasting their signature licks through a rotating speaker cone. Hendrix, Harrison, Trower, Gilmour, and too many others to list here - they all mastered the unique tone of the original rotating speaker. Now VIBRACLONE ROTARY brings that same lush, whirling effect to your pedal board, allowing you to explore everything from earthy and swampy to ethereal and spacy ambient sounds - all the way up to kaleidoscopic psychedelia!
• Vintage style rotary pedal with drive
• Choose between Chorale and Tremolo
• True Bypass

This video has inspired me to buy the pedal. I'm gonna be trying to recreate the inventive playing in this video. I love how you're voicing the notes as you would on an organ... Hands down the best demo of this pedal online. Thanks!

I just got one. The sound is amazing, it does sounds like a Hammond! The sounds does drop a little bit but I think is more that it goes a little deeper? idk how to explain it. Not dissapointed, very mellow cool vintage sound.

I've watched several channels cover this pedal. Yours is the only one that made it and your guitar in the first half of the video sound almost exactly like a Hammond B3 through a rotary cabinet. If you could tell us how you did it that would be great, especially since I have one on order now because of your video amazing video. Thanks for opening up with some Steely Dan!).

You know this pedal isn't designed to make your guitar sound like a Hammond, right? It's just to give the tone of a Fender Vibratone amp, which was designed for guitars.

It sounds like a guitar when played with a pick, and like awesome Hammond when played with fingers. That way you lose the pick attack.

@modestoney1577
@modestoney1577 3 года назад
@@ricmel8008 i guess it does in a way, but not so much a real drop in volume, more like a perceived one. It is probably not the pedal you want to kick on for a solo. I used it for rhythm guitar parts and it works like a charm. Think "Let It Loose" by the Stones or some of the Beatles guitar tones around the "White Album"/"Magical Mystery Tour" period.

This pedal has quite a few shortcomings. The lack of an output level knob makes it hard to use live, the drive needs to be at 2 or even o'clock to match the dry signal. At zero drive, there is a big volume drop. It also cuts a lot of bass and especially treble. This may be how a real Fender Vibratone sounds, but the ability to decrease the frequency shaping would make this pedal a lot more versatile. And of course, the tiny little switch makes the ramp up/down effect useless in a live situation. A second footswitch is absolutely needed. I would gladly pay extra for these features; it would still be way cheaper than most rotary pedals. The pedal is also quite noisy, especially on higher drive settings, but that may be its smallest problem.
@drzontar
@drzontar 6 лет назад
I have a couple of problems with this video: 1. You never turn the drive below 11:00. Why? What does it sound like with the drive down? Can you get unity gain with a clean sound? . . . and 2. Why is there still a little bit of a doppler effect when the switch is on "Tremolo"? Thanks.
@popintothechemist
@popintothechemist 6 лет назад
Rich Johnson unity gain is around 11:00... it’s not true Tremolo, just a variation on its core sound. It’s definitely a one trick pony. But in my opinion it does it well and it’s around $50....
@markharwood7573
@markharwood7573 3 года назад
Drive is not exactly a gain control. It thickens the sound and increases the effect. The Tremelo is similarly misleading. It's just the fast range, whereas Chorale is the slow range.
@YoughpCornejo
@YoughpCornejo 4 года назад
I just got one. The trem and chorus tones sound rich and lush enough. You'll enjoy it, but only when you're able to get past your frustration from the volume drop that this pedal causes when engaged. Does anyone know how such a problem can be fixed?

Huge shame there’s no footswitch to change between tremolo and chorale mode. A big oversight.
@limerot
@limerot 6 лет назад
I agree, a big oversight. I modded it with an expression output. Works great, but a momentary footswitch should have been implemented as standard.
@kingstumble
@kingstumble 6 лет назад
But you wouldn't want to change the tremolo/chorale mode mid song would you? Don't see the problem myself.
@Timrobrus
@Timrobrus 6 лет назад
Er...yeah. That’s kind of the point...
@limerot
@limerot 6 лет назад
You are probably correct. But a way to change speed easy would be great. A version 2 with expression out would improve the design. Version 2 should come with an active treble control, too.
@fgonzalez90
@fgonzalez90 6 лет назад
Why not? I think using the "one-mode only" approach on a rotary speaker is horribly boring... One of the best uses for a rotary speaker (real or sim) is to wisely use both modes during a song to add more "tension" and "resolution"... think about setting a chorale mode for verses and change to tremolo for chorus... or setting a chorale mode for chords and change to tremolo for solos, etc. So much FUN!

@TheRealcdawg22

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. It sounds muffled, maybe out of phase. I spent very little on this and I generally really like TC Electronic stuff, but this one isn't cuttin' it. I can't put it on my board as it is. I like this series of pedals though. The Echobrain is a phenomenal value. There are a few of them that they should have upped the quality and price. I think the Vibraclone, as it stands, is in that category.

I loved the sound of this pedal but the volume drop made me sell it. That said, I dont think most users realize the drive acts like a cut. Keep it past 12 o'clock.

I sold mine months ago, I went for the boss 500 series modulation/verb/and delay. Never looked back It does everything great and can be bright or dark because everything has a tone control and is super editable. Does what a strymon does for almost half the price.
