Greetings from Canada Anton. I’ve been considering the VK version. I’m primarily interested in harmony but your demo was very helpful for the other functions. I could see using the tone function as I play in a loud band and the tone function would help compensate for proximity. I could always add a bit of bottom or roll off some top on the mixing board when using the tone effect. The compression and de-essing would be a welcome addition as well. Excellent noise floor comparison with identical mics. I wish every review would do that. Wonderful voice you have and an excellent review, thanks.

I will go and get one. the only thing I wish you included was the use within a home recording studio., which I think is pretty straight forward, mic in and out to the preamp and use the phantom power button for condenser mics. right??🔄
Yes, you can use it that way but any effect used will be recorded and you won't be able to change it later. As most effects are available in a home studio anyway, you may be better off using those as you can alter to taste as you record. Good luck.
Pitch correction in this is designed to be transparent- so in the video when it is enabled his voice just sounds more in tune- he is really good without it, but with it the pitch is pretty much perfect.
great demo,, surely the pitch only works on the doubled tracks ? no? does the TC gtx have a pitch on off so it doesnt sound processed , if you dont want it to? ... whats the most natural sounding one youve ever used? thanks
Excellent review. Right to the point and plainly explained. I like your no "fluff" approach. I just auditioned for a band and got the job as lead singer. I'm not playing guitar much in this band 90% vocals so I think this unit will do the trick. Like many bands we don't have a full time audio technician running out board so on the fly adjustments will have to be done by yours truly. To do an entire show without some variation in the mic would work but I think some effects can add to the show. Some other TC Helicon units are a bit over the top for my taste. So by your Excellent review think I'll spring for the dosh. I wasn't certain which mic was which in the first half of your video but I liked the sound of the mic in your right hand.

In any case, it was great to hear it with a male voice, as it seemed to me to work more naturally with a male voice than a female voice. Loved the demonstration of how much the compression (Tone) is useful for scat or superfast rap. Great review!
I think the main thing that you would be hearing is the delay introduced by Perform-V. It converts from analog to digital and then back again, this adds something like 4ms of delay. You would hear your voice acoustically mixed with what you hear in the headphones- this will be the biggest difference in the sound of the mic with and without the Perform-V.

Thanks I have had this processor for over a year almost two. Im still learning. I know that I can get way more out of it than I am. I do use the free app for effects but Im still not using it to the fullest

I’ve just ordered a Starlight I’m so excited! Have you tried Palomino pencils? Literally the finest pencils I’ve ever used, I figured that if you dig nice pens... The pitch correction in the Perform-V is only subtle and general. If you want more control, best look elswhere, I imagine. Probably the same for the VK. I don't know about the Duplicator.
With all the mics you try explain it to us, why not give us an idea of the Rode mic & Sound system you're using, it seems to me better than the rest, worth to know more about it .
