Mele Kalikimaka from Hawai'i. I am so very glad I found this! I think this is the most wonderful, mysterious, well danced, and magical version I've ever seen. Really! I will have to look into the story of the Christmas/Yule figures. I like them a lot...elemental...again, Mahalo nui loa.
This is superb! Much better than the NYC Ballet, which is what I'm going to see tomorrow. I love the dancing, the costumes, & the interpretation of the music & characters! I wish this dance company could perform this in NYC!!! Fabulous! Simply fabulous!!#
It was quite a surprise to bump into this version 22 years after... Exactly at this time I was working as a guest ballet master for the Royal Swedish ans could recognise quite a lot of them. Good memories of a great winter!!!!!!
Interesting version of the Nutcracker Suite ...one thing about it is that there is a different spin to it from one place to another ... never a dull moment ...be it city or country .... a well deserved congratulations to all ...
I love t their vision on how they interpret The Nutcracker Ballet. Refreshing to see a different spin from the traditional ones. The choreography was equally as beautiful and the dancers brought it to life. Well done!
This was by far the best Nutcracker I've seen this year. I love the way they mix the Swedish story of Petter and Lotta and traditional Swedish Christmas traditions with the Nutcracker story. The dance was spot on and the Nutcracker/Cavalier is soo hot! Love it!
Wow. The storyline is original, the costumes and choreography beautiful and at times very funny, and the GPD stunning. If I were to take a child to see their first ballet, it would be this.
I've watched several versions of The Nutcracker Ballet this season... sampled the best from all over the world... this one is by far my favorite!! Bravo for a beautifully crafted production filled with humor, whimsy, unique costumes, and well-acted choreography that enhances the improved storyline to perfection. I can't get enough!

I really enjoyed this different version of "The Nutcracker". The dancers were animated and excellent. And the staging was quite beautiful and in keeping with E.T.A. Hoffman's quite dark original Nutcracker story. Thank you for posting.
Christmas Essential! The only insufficiency is the video quality being non HD, but it is totally fathomable after all the filming of the video is dated back to the year I born.
Elsa Beskow saga for children. Every Swede knows she syory of aunt Brown, aunt Gredelin and aunt Green and the the children Petter and Lotta. Then in the 19th cenury it was the Christmas goat nowdays Santa Claus in Sweden too......

Needed more dynamic choreo in the first scenes in the house, it did not flow well, there is a problem with the corps not being synchronized., the snowflake costumes were awful and needed a more elegant choreo with more interesting patterns and jumps. These dancers just need to be pushed further and I think they have the ability to go to the next level. I actually liked the boy and girl idea but it has to have better choreo, I dont think its the dancers that are weak . If you are going to replace the original story then you need to make it more exciting and more beautiful scenes. All around needs major costume improvements.

I really disliked this version of the Nutcracker! I believe that they have never gotten a libretto for this ballet. You can have some freedom in what you can do on stage but not what they did. And whole ballet is very gloomy and dark, really no much of a backdrop, costumes are white or dark colors. Nutcracker has horns like a demon. Only thing I liked is that all dancers are exceptionally good. I would fire choreographer though.
