+Mateusz Molęda And opss sorry for the dual language .... I am fluent in english except in some occasions when the emotions overwhelm me.... then I can only express myself in spanish.. ...
I have been listening to this piece of music for a long time. And now, I see gamers everywhere in the comments x). I guess it's nice to make people knowing Tchaikivsky's music by video games :)
xpk ryanx- I would like to remind you that the days of the former classical era, the era of live musicians everywhere at every event, have passed us by, and hearing classical, romantic, and baroque music live is the only way to really experience it. So, what do we do? We can instead listen to the music within the context of a story. In a film, a game, or even as part of a presentation. Music is a living thing. It needs to either be heard live or experienced as an influencing force on something else. Food for thought.
We played this in my high school symphonic orchestra too and won many competitions playing it. I'm sitting here watching this video 6 years later as it is STILL my favorite piece we ever played. Best of luck to you! It's so rewarding to learn and play.
THAT JEWISH GAMER in terms of gameplay and actual plot, yeah, the sequel is way better although I find the first one to be better in terms of raw horror. I just wish they stuck with that Italian guy to be the main boss instead of just the Act I antagonist
Maestro, if I may pick your brain...I'm an aspiring conductor who also teaches high school orchestra here in the states, and was leading through a reading of the waltz when I found that I couldn't quite bring the violins back in from their fermata right in the very beginning. It's not evident in the video as the camera focuses off of you at both moments that fermata occurs, so I ask how do you approach getting into and out of that fermata clearly and in a way that doesn't micromanage the violins too much? Thanks!

Dear Will, thank you for your message! I feel very much honored that you took time to listen so carefully to our performance. I stay in full bars until bar no. 32, doing only a slightly ritenuto, then I conduct bar no. 33 in three but with a very clear one, doing the fermata on two, followed by the three which is the upbeat for bar no. 34 but back in the tempo of the beginning. But probably the best advice in this case which I can give you are Maestro Karajan's words: "The art of conducting consists in knowing when to stop conducting to let the orchestra play". It is only first and second violins, they will manage, trust the concertmaster, trust them. Don't subdivide in three too early, it will only make them nervous. Good luck and all the best, always open to answer your questions and discuss together! Greeting from Germany, Matt - info@mateuszmoleda.de
Alyosha Skvortsov "Your death will be art!" I love the inclusion of that character- a shunned and insane Italian artist who is strangely capable. He alludes to knowing some fencing too when you actually fight him.
Like a lot of people that were kids in the early, mid, and late 50s I heard beautiful pieces of music like this as . . . soundtracks to Walt Disney, and Tom & Jerry Cartoons! It wasn't until many many years later did I 1) hear them on a classical-only music station so as to put a name to the music, and, 2) hear the music in its entirety. It is truly wonderful. In a way, those cartoon-makers set us up for this!
The world is a better place because of animated cartoonists and video game creators putting samples of great music into their works! It's often the only time millions of culturally deprived kids will ever hear it!
Over 40 years ago, I asked my music major brother for some classical records for Christmas; one of his gifts was the London recording of Georg Solti with the Israel Philharmonic performing this piece. I played it over and over while studying in college. I had largely forgotten how many memorable themes it contains. Thank you for a wonderful, balanced performance of one of the loveliest compositions of a great composer.

Hello Mateusz Moleda, Lovely beautiful and relaxing. My uncle shared this with me and I first listened to this at the beach in SF. What a gorgeous soundtrack to a gorgeous backdrop of the city and the Golden Gate bridge. Magnificent! Is this concert available to purchase on CD or download? Thank you!

+Diana Miller Hello Diana, thank you very much for your compliments, I feel very touched and honored at the same time! Unfortunately the concert is only available at the moment here on RU-vid. It was originally broadcasted by the Korean TV channel MBC.
Just learning more classical. Started watching ballet, and was distracted by the beauty of the piece. Oh how l wish there were a mass return to the classics, and ordered thinking. lt would society much good. Thank you to the musicians, and composer! You've made my heart GLAD today. :)
This is how I always think Tchaikovsky wanted this piece played, void of the "big" sound from too many string instruments. Intimate, refreshing and each phrase expressing the subtle sounds of what the composer wanted. I only wish the audience would never applause between the movements, rather to reflect silently on what beauty they just heard. This is after all a stunning, moving piece of orchestration.

This was beautiful! If I hadn't watched the video I would have thought there were more instruments in the orchestra... such wholeness, balance, range. Bravo, maestro

Thank you very much! I feel very honored that you like our performance! All the best for you!
I've always thought that conducting for a composer such as Tchaikovsky would be the hardest simply because much of it is powered by emotion. I am curious, who do you think is the hardest to conduct for? (I'm no conductor myself)
I have heard this piece many times (it's one of my favourites), but this rendition is such an emotionally evocative orchestration, as to be beyond perfect! Very well done!!

My favorite composition, best performance by Maestro Moleda....such a great way to enrich time in this pandemic and quarantine. Bravo! I am a violinist, and this joy reaches us in Tampa Florida.

Dear Carol, this is so kind of you! Thank you very much for your warm words! Lots of greetings to Florida from Germany! Matt
Very nice! I like the tempi of the movements which are very characteristic of Tchaikovsky and dance movements. This conductor is quite good. Direction is clear, concise and not too flamboyant.
