Great videoo! I am currently debating on two Tv's one is a 85" Q6 the other being a 75" Q7 . Which would you recommend? I mainly would be using for movies and occasionally watch sports and gaming
The TCL Q650G is way better, it has more peak brightness, best contrast "according to Rtings" and for games is a lot better, it has VRR and 120hz up to 1440p. Also, with LG you have the risk to get an IPS panel that beside it has very bad contrast compare to a VA, also in low end tv's with no full array local dimming an IPS/ADS panel will look just horrible in dark scenes "example a horror videogame", the image will look grey, cloudy and washed. In my opinion if you want a price quality TV go for TCL or Hisense, the big companies like LG, Samsung etc... their low gama do not worth it, they charge you an overprice just for the brand.
If a TV like the TCL Q6 that barely reach 500 nits peak brightness damage your eyes, then I can't imagine then if you ever try a TCL QM8 or a Samsung QN95D for example which have x3 more brightness. In my opinion, buy a TV which one of strengths is the brightness for after dim it down extremely doesn't make lot of sense. Better to buy a cheap tv with a peak brightness of 200 to 300 nits to watch SDR content.
