I bought a 2022 TCL 75C735 last week & had been frustrated with the amount of artifacts in high motion content. All my previous TVs have been Plasma so I wasn't familiar with the settings available with this QLED TV. I was at my whit's end in regard to removing/reducing the motion artifacts. Thankfully I discovered this video and now my problem has been resolved, the culprit the Motion Judder setting. It was turned up to maximum (10), reducing it to three solved my problem while still retaining a small amount of Judder reduction for screen panning, etc. Thanks.

@@colin7225 bit of a late response, owned mine for 6 months - great, I mean great tv for its cost. - Sure the hardware isn't the most powerful to run crisp motion scenes 100% of the time on it's own ( occasional home menu studdering ) but plug into an xbox/playstation and movies just became a whole lot better. great colour, great brightness, great experience 8/10.

I followed the set up instructions on the video step by step, yet the picture on my brand new TCL C725 was awful. I went back to the picture settings I had before watching the video, and the picture is now good.
@@TVguyDarko I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t make a note of the settings because I changed them again. Sometimes the picture is OK, and at other times it seems too dark, a lot depends on what I’m watching. I’ve tried adjusting as I go, but I’m still not happy with the result. My previous set, which is now in another room, is a Samsung 55 inch 7 series, which has a great picture, but does not have the features of the TCL. Unfortunately, Samsungs have a long wait time as they are hard to get, which is why I went for the TCL. I’m sure I will get it right eventually, but it’s a bit frustrating, plus my 84 year old brain doesn’t work as well as it used to😁
Hey Darko, very dumb question but I followed these settings as close as possible for the C725 (settings slightly different) but I kept brightness/contrast at default 100 - unsurprisingly I'm getting really bad eye strain from the bright whites but all other colours look perfect. In your view, what settings should I tweak to reduce the brightness of the "white" without compromising overall colour?

Hi Darco, great video. I'm having a problem when watching movies on disc. If a scene fades to black or goes to complete darkness the screen like switches off and comes back on when the bright comes back in the scene. It doesn't happen on streaming, only on discs on various machines and tried different HDMI cables too. So it's not the players, or cables. Have you any idea what this is or / and how to fix it ? Thanks for the video! Do you have any info for the settings when watching things in Dolby vision? I tried your advice of turning on Dolby Dark which made my picture look more washed out. However on Dolby IQ I lose the option to turn off motion blur which gives Dolby vision movies that soap opera effect. Do you have any advice for picture settings in Dolby dark mode?

My C725 unfortunately has serious "banding" issues, I wonder what can cause this, but I have to consider returning it. This is disappointing as the overall image quality seems really great...

Hey, my unit had good uniformity, but that can vary from unit to unit. I think they did improve the quailty and that if you carefully install the TV without pushing the screen, you should be OK for watching that type of content.
Hello Darko, I bought your PDFs to set the colours for my TV but Live TV picture is yellowish when I set WARM temperature, and colours are not well displayed. As an example, this morning a red colour was similiar to violet. How can I solve that please.

Anyway this can be only correctly adjusted by performing the calibration on your unit.
Hey, gaming options are explained in my files available in my store (link in the description). In general, just use Game mode, it is accurately adjusted by default.

Hey Sami - I haven’t tested the C715, but from what I’ve seen in the past upscaling has improved. In regards to brightness, it is not great like on Hisense U7QF which is also a midrange TV, but it is more similar to what other manufacturers are offerening in this class.
Hey Darko Recently I've bought TCL 55C728 and also found your review and tips very helpfull. But regardless to that I have some questions and issues to resolve... 1. Since I own X-Rite i1Display Pro and using Displaycal and Calman for calibrating my monitors I've noticed only in your video that you have DDC service option in Expert Calibration settings. I've done all the browsing through the manuals and menu settings but nothing. Also I've updated TVs Android OS to latest version but still not showing? Can you help me and tell me what am I doing wrong? 2. I bought this TV for casual gaming also to pair it with my new Xbox Series S console. Im using original cables, correct HDMI inputs and Advanced standard is set to ON but anyways I get blank screens for a brief moment between loading scenes for example theres no backlight turned on for a brief moment if picture is not showing it act like its just completly off. And also with some games that use HDR10 or DolbyVision for gaming colors are completly off but not like washed out but rather completly faulty like theres filter overlaying the image or appearing like there is a filter overlay on the screen that completly destroys color gamut, gamma and contrast - I've checked the settings and everything is defaulted. When watching movies/shows in HDR10 or DolbyVision everything works just fine 3. from time to time, when TV is idle or when I'm watching series or movies Google Assistant / Voice control is turning on randomly. Theres some days when its not happening but theres days when its randomly showing up/turning on couple of times trough the using For all of the questions - I've factory reseted the TV and updated again - no luck. TV is old maybe 2 weeks now. Is this factory problem and should I contact TCL service for this issues and ask for replacement? Thanks in advance!

Hi Darko, I´ve bought a TCL X925 75". At the store they had an option to calibrate the tv before delivery (small fee compare to the price of the tv) but the salesrep convinced me not to add this option, since a "real" calibration can only be made in my house with professionals coming and measuring "light" and sizes of the environment. Now I´m trying to find a calibration guide for the TV, but can´t find anything specific for my x925 which is user friendly. what is your professional opinion, how can I get the most out of my tv? all the best! (ps right now I´ve used the tips that you guide us through for the C-series. but i presume that it´s maybe not the best options for my tv?
Hello Farzad! The sales rep. was right and definitely for the TV of this class (and size) a true calibration at your place is recommended for the optimal performance. In addition to that, seeing the calibration process and understanding why is something done is another important aspect of the process, though this depends on the calibrator and how much he is willing to explain and with which level of complexity. You can always do some basic adjustments yourself, like selecting recommended picture mode which is closest to the calibrated state and if the menus and options look similar to those in this video, you can use it until you get the TV calibrated. Hey Mark from my neighboring country. For Xbox I would recommend Game mode and you can put motion blur to max if increased input lag is not affecting your gaming. If you want lowest input lag (fastest response) then turn off all the motion controls.
I was expecting a collaboration between tcl and calman, but it seems that it didn't work out in the end. I calibrated the c835 model today, and this product is missing the DDC menu itself.
I cannot share more except that they are still working on it. I agree that it looks like it didn’t work out since they’ve published the news about it middle of last year and nothing thus far.

TCL 55C725 apparently has 60Hz panel so it cant display 4K120Hz. There´s only the MEMC system. The Australian version seems to have 120Hz panel that enables VRR.
Sir, iPhone 12, 13 look warmer so it's more accurate? Also, my pixel 4 look warmer than iphone XR. Does it simply my pixel well calibrated? Cause, google tweet the pixel 4 use warmer than cooler.
Hello Al - it is very difficult to know which warm image is more accurate - sometimes picture is too warm and that is also not correct. Ideally you should measure it with a colorimeter to find out which is closest to the industry standards.

Before and after the calibration on football matches the image cropped. Do you have any solution of that? On my old LED Samsung the picture is nice and smooth on any sport or movie. On TCL sport is hard to watch.
@@TVguyDarko If you turn on some sport on the TV, e.g. Soccer, the picture starts to stutter and you have the impression that the TV was not 50 / 60Hz, but "30Hz" or had about "20-21" frames per second. None of the settings I found on the internet help. Even when all image enhancers are turned off, the TV in sports lags. The only things that are displayed smoothly are movies with low dynamics.

i found out what cause this issue , when i connect pc with the tv and activate game mode that happens, so i just disabled game mode and vrr then the settings reappeared

I calibrated everything according to video Thank you very much. Just two days ago, I was playing game on my TCL 728. Then I decided to fiddle with picture settings. Enabled dynamic color for just curiosity. To my surprise everything look more alive and real when it is enabled. Especially grass, distant objects and objects reflecting sunshine. Is this normal or am I weird?

I own a c735, which is the newer version of the c728, but I can't trust the default picture modes. The PC mode is very hot, and the game mode is too hot. I don't know if the problem is with my TV or what, in general I use the PC to watch movies. What mode do you recommend?
@@TVguyDarko Exactly the picture is very warm and very yellow as if you have turned on the eyesight protection mode, what is the best mode for watching movies and anime on the PC
It is movie mode, but if picture is too red then you will need to tweak White Balance - for two points reduce Red value a bit. Pause some scene with people’s faces and gradations and see how it works.

Interesting! Perhaps you need to turn off intelligent picture modes? Is this happening on all inputs and for both SDR and HDR? If so then it would be best to see if software updates are available and if not do a complete factory reset.

Hi, I have 75C728 TV but the Android TV interface only outputs picture in 1920x1080 resolution. Do you get 4k output? I didn't find any settings for resolution. If i plug in HDMI cable i can use 4k, but not with integrated Android TV. Can you help me?
Hey, it is normal that Android TV interface is in Full HD resolution that TV is upscaling to 4K. This will only happen on Android TV 12 - 9to5google.com/2021/07/14/android-tv-12-4k-ui-beta-3/
I see now the price is 140 euros higher for C825 where you get better mainly better contrast and HDR. For movies for sure it is an upgrade and the price difference is not that high.

Which screen size is 500 USD? It depends how will you use it and what you need - if it is gaming and watching Netflix and similar services better to get C728 which has new platform and works faster and more stable.

I'm desperate I have a tcl p815 50 ‘’ for a while I have noticed an effect of dragging, splitting or haloes in the subjects on images that does not allow me to play a football game and much less watch games on TV. Doubt I'll be testing that one, but I can say that it is not as good as C728 and it has older platform with known issues (stuttering in VOD apps, slow system, etc.).
Though both use same SoC Realtek RTD2851, C725 is newer, has Android TV 11, support for CalMAN Autocal and I would assume many bugs were corrected. Based on my testing of C728, TCL is solving a lot of issues from past years, so now this TV works really well and has good picture quality without any stuttering when displaying 25p content via streaming apps.

"The first thing to do" .... Dude, the first to do is yell : DO NOT F...KING BUY TCL ! These lame reviews make it seem like it's a decent TV. It's GARBAGE ! HDR is useless. The TV does a lot of image processing that deletes all the details. You are left with vivid blobs of colors. It's atrocious.
