I've watched quite a number of TCL 728 reviews on RU-vid. I like this best as it goes into great detail about picture quality and how to use the picture enhancement features. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy this after the other reviews. But this review makes me want to buy, even though my present 4k TV (non-QLED) is in very good condition.
The C728 surprisingly is using a rather higher-end Mediatek-based SoC, and with an additional GB of RAM totalling to 3GB. This is hard to come by with TVs of the same price range.. even the OLED models are using inferior SoCs and with only a measly 2GB RAM to work with. This hopefully explains why there are artifacts on the other inferior model :) Another cool info. This TV is capable of emulating PSP games and even PS2 games. That's how powerful the chipset is haha
Did the GoogleTV interface come preinstalled? I got the C722/5 here in Europe. The TV came with GoogleTV UI and also written on the box, even though it says AndroidTV in the ads. I had to return it due to screen uniformity issues. The replacement came with AndroidTV UI (also written on the box), with different remotes. When I inquired from the seller why same models could come with different UIs I was told that I was lucky to have gotten the GoogleTV variant. To me that is inconsistency. Top brands are consistent!
TCL TV is very good picture quality, but the mid-range and high-end models are not found in those retail shops, thus we can only buy those Samsung LG brand, it's glad that they finally brought in such model, any possible this youtuber to review the mini-led series ?
Hi, Don't you think the TCL Qleds suffer from a lack of detail in dark scenes (movies, series, etc.) ? This kind of black crush is usually found on cheap budget TV's and it's strange that TCL still can't fix this despite vibrant colours...
@@alfredng3116 i think the c728 is only 330 nits peak brightness where the Q1E/Q1 is up to 1000 nits... massive diff if u ask me... but according to MADS the c728 seems to be bright enough
Hi MADS! Thanks for the great review! I've been trying to compare xiaomi mi 4s 65 vs TCL 65C728 VS TCL 65C815 but haven't found any useful reviews.. Could you share if you have any thoughts on these and how they compare? Thank you!!
the tv model you compared with is not the same level tv, c728 is the best for sure since is QLED, the two models you compared are just normal 4k tv only. C728 has 120hz, the rest just 60hz only. the spec is quite a big difference. however, it will depend on your budget, in terms of price point, i can't see any competitor that has the same price range with this spec.
Hi @@james6541 , thanks for the reply =) about the xiaomi, I was asking more in terms of comparison of value for money.. I understand the xiaomi is inferior =) And about c728 and c815 - as far as I know the 815 is QLED too, and has a 120hz panel. the main difference that I found between those are that the c815 has a good built in sound bar, and the 728 has a better processor. Anything else I should consider? Which one is best between those two in your opinion? Thank you!
@@victormartinov8836 happy to share my opinion. I suggest you get C728 reason below 1: google tv OS 2: processor speed faster with greater respond 3 : colour presentation
Don’t expect a smart TV with built-in Google TV/Android TV to perform better in terms of video/audio processing. The specs wasn’t enough to handle fast moving motion, high frame rate etc. Instead, get a separate set top box like Nvidia Shield or Apple TV so that the video/audio processing is done on the box itself; which is often more powerful than the TV itself. Eg: Nvidia Shield has an 4K upscaling for HD content and Apple TV has TV calibration feature that uses your iPhone’s camera to calibrate colour & brightness.
I thought that too! I agree with you that Apple TV and Nvidia have better speeds But during my tests, I connected Apple TV and it performed poorly side by side. Eg. The motion processing is still better on this TCL RU-vid than Apple TV RU-vid. Thou the Apple TV is connected to a gigabit Ethernet and TCL through Wi-Fi Apple TV's Dolby Vision is just not as smart as Dolby Vision IQ. It's too rigid- cannot make small adjustments to picture profile. And Apple TV performs best at Dolby Vision 4k. Changing to 4K HDR profile didn’t perform as smooth. That however doesn’t factor in the environment brightness. No light sensor. It shows RU-vid with too much gamma and washed out. I am looking at it now side by side as I’m typing this to you. The same RU-vid video appears clearer and sharper on the TCL. Both are QLED. I also connected Apple TV to TCL C728. Same picture quality from Apple TV as described above. I do like my Apple TV but in this case it lost in motion smoothing and Dolby vision alone.
Yeah I’m looking for a c728 and u7g comparison too. Very similar specs. Hisense sgd200 cheaper too. Checked out the c728 at the amk TCL showroom but couldn’t find a u7g display model in sg.
@@ispacemanspiff321 singapore version u7g no support 120hz,in website they did not put. Salesman also admit this, they say dif region dif specs, so be aware. Hisense using same model number to trick people.
TCL indeed is a good brand, top panel technology after LG and Samsung, it's way better than those prism,Xiaomi, but sadly their marketing is not aggressive as like prism.
aiyo, now so confused wanted to get iffalcon k72, but then saw c825. then now c728. all different price point. which of the interface do you think are smoother or easier to use?
Hi Mads! Great review and channel! Just want to ask does c728 has a new version with google tv?? In our retail store it says android 11. Please waiting for your reply. Thanks! Sub!
Hi Mads, fellow SG here! I noticed for TCL on shopee, there isn't a swivel mount option for 75 Inch (not sure why), in this case would you recommend TITAN brand mount (from XIAOMI 75 Inch review video) as an alternative?:)
🤣🤣 oh wait i read too fast! I’m third gen singaporean but like many chinese - we forgot our grandparents are from China. So yes can’t deny we are all proud Chinese!
