Before you throw away you tv remote or purchase a new one, you need to try these method first.
1) Change your battery
2) check for corrosion on battery terminals / if so clean battery terminals and used rubbing alcohol.
3) If all these checks are done and still not working. Pry open your tv remote damp a napkin with rubbing alcohol and clean the tv remote circuit board thoroughly.
