Old: Price of 1 banana = x For 40rs we get = 40/x After increasing: Price of banana = x+(10%x) For 40 we get = 40/x+(10%x) Given after increase in price we are getting 4 bananas less in same price i.e, 40 Bananas before - 4 = Bananas we get after increase in price 40/x - 4 = 40/1.1x Solving this we get x = 10/11 (before Increase in price) After increase in price = 10/100 * (10/11) = 1 Asked the price for dozen bananas = 1*12 = 12 Before increasing in price we get 40*(11/10) = 44 bananas After increasing in price we are getting 40*(1) = 40 Difference 4//

option : C 10% of 40 is 4 Rs with an increase of 4 rupees .. u are unable to buy 4 bananas which means each banana is 1 Rs 12 bananas= 12rs

Given: Percentage increase in banana price = 10% Let the original rate of banana is Rs x per banana Quantity purchased = 40/x New rate = x + 10% of x ⇒ 110x/100 ⇒ 11x/10 Quantity purchased = 40/(11x/10) According to question (40/x) - (40 x 10/11x) = 4 ⇒ 40/11x = 4 ⇒ x=10/11 New rate = (11 x 10)/(10*11) = 1 Rs per banana Therefore rate per dozen : 1*12=12 Rs Hence option c is correct

Option C 12 is correct Hence its deep solution- Let us assume that, CP of 1 banana is Rs.x.. Than, → Total banana he buy on Rs.40 = (40/x) given that, rate of banana is 10% increase and he can buy 4 less banana in rs..40 now. So, → New CP of banana = 110% of x = (110 * x)/100 = 1.1x . than, → banana he bought on Rs.40 this time = (40/1.1x) A/q, → (40/x) - (40/1.1x) = 4 → (40*1.1 - 40)/1.1x = 4 → (44 - 40)/1.1x = 4 → 4 = 4.4x dividing both sides by 4.4 → x = (4/4.4) → x = (40/44) → x = (10/11) Therefore, → CP of 1 banana = Rs.(10/11) → CP of 1 dozen banana = 12 * (10/11) = Rs.(120/11) = Hence, → Old Price of banana per dozen = Rs.(120/11) → New price of banana = 10% inc. = (110/100) * (120/11) = Rs.12 .
