Not surprised. I have been a Christian for 27 years and used to listen to TD Jakes a lot, as I live in Dallas. The more I studied the Word, the more I began to understand that what he was teaching was not Biblical. • He doesn’t believe in the Trinity. He believes, and has said so in sermons and interviews, that he believes God is one with three different forms. This is not what the Bible teaches. God is indeed one but is also three separate persons and personalities. • He lives a life of luxury, has a mansion at White Rock Lake in Dallas, drives a Bentley, wears thousand dollar suits and teaches the prosperity gospel. Just like Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Fred Price, he teaches that if you give, God will bless you 10-100 fold. This is false. God is not you personal genie who grants all of your wishes. You are not guaranteed to receive anything temporal for giving but spiritual, and eternal. Jesus made it clear a believers rewards are eternal, in heaven, not earth. The only thing you are promised in this life for sure is persecuted, trials and tribulation, and suffering because it’s within these that you will see God move. • He schmoozes with celebrities like Oprah (who believes all roads lead to heaven and God) and P Diddy. Some might say, “Jesus hung out with tax collectors and thief’s, so that’s all he is doing in order win them for Christ.” No, Jesus didn’t hang out with sinners, he called them and preached to them. He told them to repent and turn from sin. He never engaged in the same activities they were involved in but brought them to what he was doing. • He wants to be a friend of the world. He is concerned about his popularity, public image and being like by powerful people. He is focused on his status (as obvious by driving the most expensive car and dressing flashy with Rolexes and nice things to present to the world that he is successful. All while taking money from struggling black families living paycheck to paycheck in many cases. They buy into his lie of investing so God will bless you. Now I am not saying giving or tithing is wrong or we shouldn’t do it, far from it. But if your motivation for doing so is so that God will make you richer or bless you financially, you are making God out to be your personal genie and it’s really no different than gambling. I don’t know TD Jakes heart. I cant say whether he is saved or has really been born again, only God can. But he is walking and teaching falsehood to millions of people who buy into this lie. He needs to repent of his heresy and turn to the real Jesus for guidance, as he is obviously deceived. Maybe that’s why God let this all come to light. We all fall short of God’s Glory and have sinned. But as the word teaches, those in positions of authority are held to a much higher standard.
When TD bragged about his wife “twerking for Jesus” and his congregation applauded and laughed about it, l knew something was terribly wrong. God has been convicting me of saying things that don’t reflect the nature of Christ or glorify God and l have been repenting and asking God to transform me into His image. Its time for all believers to get sincere about a holy walk with the Lord. Ppl are watching and listening.

The Truth is that the man chose money over preaching the Truth a long time ago. I know a real man of God who preaches the unadulterated word of God, not famous, but dearly beloved by God. He ran into TD in an elevator, and God told him to tell him to repent, and go back to preaching the Truth. God gave him space and time to repent. God is even now, still giving him space and time to repent, but his time is almost up. May God have mercy on his soul.

It is a very powerful position to hold with so many looking up to what he preaches and now people have to make the choice to just worship our lord Jesus Christ for what they have been holding on to by listening to this man. We as Christian’s need to pray constantly for him and others in this nation to pull America back to Christ.
