For the most part, they are just revenue collectors for the government. Any fun is seen by the government as deviant behaviour and an excuse to milk you for more cash.
This "mechanic" hasn't a single clue what he's talking about, the "cop with no mechanical knowledge" is correct though. He even says these are his weekend tyres and that he has a set of tyres for during the work week. He's basically admitting that his tyres are illegal and that he is aware that this is the case. Look beyond the title of the video...he's not being "fisted" he's being booked as a persistent repeat offender who's knowingly driving an unroadworthy vehicle on our roads and then trying to claim victim status. If he has an accident his insurance will be null and void because of his vehicle being illegally modified and therefore unroadworthy, and the victim, assuming that they survive, will have to chase him personally for compensation and it's pretty easy to see how that would go. He only shows what the cops were looking at, not the fines he was rightly issued with. Easily the dumbest "mechanic" I've seen in a while.
I'm not a mechanic, but as I drive a 4WD and prefer not to be pulled over and defected . . . it's in my best interest to have an understanding of the Australian Road Design Rules even though each State has slightly different interpretations of those rules, so it's in my best interest to have an idea of what I can do to my 4wd before it attracts interest and possible defected. ARD say's you can only go 2 sizes above the OME Tyres and Wheels Combination. Tyres are not permitted to protrude beyond a vehicles wheel arch guard line when in straight track, even at a glance you can see he's tyres are well and truly outside the protection of the wheel arch flair line at the rear, Bullbars and bullbar attachments etc etc . . . I have a Codan HF Autotune Antenna, it would had been easier to mount on the Bullbar, but ARD Says otherwise so went on the rear of my canopy, so it goes to show, there are Mechanics and there are Mechanics.
As a mechanic he should know better. He was giving them attitude as well. Understandable given the circumstances, but if you don’t want to be pulled over don’t attract attention. This car looks like a bush pig.
@@andrewwalker3756 actually caveman, she said "your car is running, you are using your mobile phone, so if you want to turn your phone off?" then he turns off the car, standard police officer mind games

i mean if anything a 4x4 would be more safe on our shit pot hole roads then my slammed 86 is 😂 i got pulled up for havind to dark brake lights.... the brake lights are legitimately over 2x brighter then stock and the law simply states they need to be visible at 200m which they obviously are yet the cop dog doesnt even know the laws there enforcing. i hate cops period fuck the cunts off we dont need them to hassle us we need them to stop actual crimes
How about crossroads being bridged? Isn't it about time these idiot politicians remove these waste-of-time traffic lights they installed everywhere that is causing massive bank-ups, delays and sick people? Let's face it, if you travel for kilometres on a traffic lights filled main road and stop on not all of them but at least stop so many times that is wasting you well over half hour and in need to use the toilet or burst your navel, do you think that this is not going to make you sick? And if you use that road over and over, times and times again, do you think you're not going to get chronic bowel syndrome, where you're forced to remain on the road longer than necessary? Start taking notice and see what I meant. Almost everyone goes to the toilet after learning that to use a road to get home after work takes up to one hour or more because traffic lights sometimes give you more green, at other times you get more red, sitting at each of them a minute or so enough to gather some in-car cobwebs, see how you start to aching to get to a toilet, but you hold on, hoping you can get home on time. In turn this starts to cause pain and... What will you do, wet your pants? Even doctors recommends that you go to the toilet the moment you feel the urge, because if you don't and hold it on, the bladder stretches, caused urine to reach the kidneys, build kidney stones and resulting in painful urination and blocked prostate urethra, causing urinary tract infection, while you sit at the lights and ponder when the f*** are you going to move and get home or a nearest public toilet, as public toilets have been removed due to vandals and gay activities and service stations toilets are no longer around. Yet, because of this shitty attitude at installing traffic lights at every intersection and no bridges in sight on ordinary roads (even country highways) since the early '70, and traffic has increased tenfold, do you see any improvements made at intersections? No, only on freeways. Even freeways are a pain in the ass with ramp traffic lights that increases considerable delays. If they can't cope with the population explosion, why bring in more migrants, refugees, etc.? I bet you in the next 50 years we will still be stuck at traffic lights controlled intersections. I hate this kind of pathetic attitude. 😠
@@freerider8737 because be can call on you to help us. I say release all the crooks from the bighouse. If there were no cops I could rape all the woman in the world. Your clever
If the vehicle is engineered, the cops don’t have the qualifications to dispute a licenced and accredited engineer for the registration authority. And don’t answer ANY questions from police. They are NOT your friends.
Apart from the facts that it was only engineered for the lift. Which he voided cause he put bigger tiers on. And then they went around and checked everything else that was illegal which wasn’t engineered
@@antongaltthe 5" lift engineering is for the combination of suspension/body and tyres, he did not void his mod plate, he broke standard that didn't allow more than 2 inches/50mm of lift from tyres alone (he had 3") I know it's semantics but he was done for too large tyres, nothing to do with his "lift" necessarily, the cops even explain this in the video. The only way he could have above 50mm on his tyres (at the time in Qld of this video) is with pre-rego engineering.
If it wasn't for the overbearing and enormous nanny state Australia has, I'd consider moving back, but until that changes I'll stay here in Texas where I can have my guns and lifted trucks without worry
If something's blueplated they shouldn't be questioning the driver. The engineer is the only one who can 100% say what the go is. FFS! Can't stand these Untz.

A shit bar like that, different coloured panels and tyres beyond mudguards. If I was a cop I woulda confiscated that piece of shit if I could. Fkn disgrace to GU’s
@webnothing police put a defect sticker on a friends car once, and the only reason they could find to give him one was that his wiper blades were worn and needed replacing. They can be absolute assholes sometimes.
@webnothing i got a warning for not having a stamped load plate fixed to my towbar. I argued that the towbar would not have come with a stamped load plate back in 1991 when both the vehicle and towbar was manufactured. The copper was pretty cool and let me off with a warning. I'm not sure if it went on any record or not. I'm in NSW.
The dip shit probably never heard of Superior Engineering or the testing they do like rally driving, hill climbs, mud racing, towing, heavy loads and general 4wding. Superior should be send letter of notice for defamation.
By definition they are a hazard, I've got a 30 year old hilux with a dealer fitted bulbar that has a major forward lean and i get harassed by highway patrol all the time , even though it is as stock as it comes from the dealer
ive been done, in my 2016 79 series land cruiser for my 5 post bull catcher with side steps in QLD, (cars registers in NSW), but went to court about it and got it taken away
Meanwhile, old lady calls copshop after getting burgled or whatever and is told, "sorry we have insufficient manpower to attend your call at this time"
Madeulook in itself it isnt the most credible statement but in the context of the video i think some of the police officers comments would take the cake for “most retarded comment”
Madeulook only if you know nothing about cars or 4x4s, superior engineering is a company that makes installs and then engineers the cars to be compliant to state regulations in regards to aftermarket modifications, the fact that it’s been engineered to exceed stock max standards means its legal. Ps the tolerance limits the cops a reading is for an un engineered car
@@maxellis9908 A lot of Superior Engineering parts, as good as they are, require secondary engineers inspection in your state of registration & approval numbers added to your rego details to be road legal & insurance approved, you can't just fit their billet radius rods, track correction diff or a set of aftermarket seats & runners & be road legal. O'l Wilfred was trying to baffle the coppers with bullshit.
its pretty obvious what goin on here and you dont need to be a genius to read between the lines ,both of these coppers are building a monster ball tearin rig to go off road and theyre takin pictures and measurements to get a head start on their own projects, this whole roadside exercise is a joke, yes its a slow day no your not travelling in inner Melbourne Sydney ,sometimes the jacks need to use a bit of common sense
They are. How would you feel if someone ran over your child in a vehicle that was illegally modified to the point that it would fail a brake test? You can bet your arse that he didn't upgrade to bigger brakes when he fitted those wheels. Oh, and illegal modifications mean that any insurance that he has is null and void. Any halfway decent mechanic would know this. Good luck chasing him personally for compensation. Strange how this "mechanic" says he works on a turf farm...
So 1st and foremost this vehicle is illegal in Australia because the tyres protrude further than the wheel arches. Anything beyond that is simply gravy for the Unexpected Revenue Department.
I’m not a mechanic of 30years and all what cops said made sense to me. Tyres sticking out is always a no no As a young person I’d probably be pushing all bounderies but as I get older keep right away from all the hassle. Problem is if an accident occurred all vehicles would be scrutinised for defects. Then the one with and possibly deemed most dangerous would cop it. Any deaths makes it even worse.
most 4x4 like this are just plodding around causing no issue cops should maybe do some real police work people get motorbikes stolen and cops dont even get off there ass
Bull bar straight out of Mad Max, wheel track way out past the flares, one flare missing, trailer looking like a playground slide..... mate, you're asking for trouble. That shit can't be engineered and you know it.
he's your typical beard stroking, blue singlet wearing piss creekian bogan who thinks they know everything making the roads unsafe for everyone else. so glad this idiot got caught again. keep that death trap off the road and away from my children
She was measuring from a uneven surface, witch would cause inaccurate measurements. She also looked like she could of being measuring from the gutter which is not the height of the surface that the Tyers are sitting on.
also the car is not level therefore inaccurate measurement. and when she was measuring the tyres she was eyeballing the tape measure. should have had a straight edge to get a true reading....tossers
What a pair of heroes. Much easier to just extort good people that have hurt nobody then to go after actual criminals. They'd have to actually work then.
Right up until he runs over a child with an unroadworthy vehicle... If this guy is an actual mechanic like he claims, then he's a bad one because the police are correct and he is breaking the law in Queensland. He should know this if he is.
@@trevorpom If he runs over a child, I don't think the track width, lift, or wheels are going to make any difference. It's a fucken 3 ton brick. What's the difference if it was road worthy???
In Australia they have trucks called road trains a few trailer lengths long driving on dirt roads with bullbars designed to run over cows and horses. This 4wd is much safer to drive than those trucks but yet they are legal and this poor guy gets harassed. Australia has changed a lot.
Way to go, pulling over some guy earning a living minding his own fucking business. No wonder there's no respect for cops. There's shit boxes with rust through the floor wells getting around yet they pull over a guy that actually drives his car for a hobby and earning.
These are highway cops aren't they? Do nothing to solve crime, revenue raise to justify their job. A CIB cop o did a job for said they are known as jury fuckers amongst real cops.
With all the violence and youth issues in FNQ these cops obviously have way better use of their time. They are unavailable and incapable of doing real ploice work and are focused on revenue raising. The fat woman is incapable of performing actually police duties. Sad facts are this type of stupidity is a massive issue that needs to be addressed.
Police attitudes aside, this owner was honest when he said he doesn't know. He really does not have any idea about vehicle safety or engineering. And the simple point he made about having a spare set of tyres to fit is a clear admission of guilt, he knows full well those tyres fitted are illegal. The tyres height (circumference) is not a suspension concern but an issue with the effective vehicle braking. Irrespective of allowable vehicle height, the larger tyre the less effective are the brakes when the rotors and calipers remain the same.
Good to see they have all the trade certificates to determine wether a car is road worthy or not By the way there talking they go no idea about anything They should have to do a mechanic trade just like us mechanics

I’ve personally taken a few defects to court to get them cleared because as I have proven time and time again, police officers are NOT mechanics. They may know some things about the law but they can not know every single thing every single car came out with. I respect officers in what they do in THEIR job but don’t try and be something you are not.
