TDG: Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition (2024) 

The game that got me into gaming... I have always loved Axis And Allies (my wife cringes with the cost). I even got to the point of actually painting the minis. They look so good on the board painted.... But I digress. Great review.

I’ve no idea how or why I was so blessed, but after I married my lovely bride I discovered that she actually loved A&A, and we used to play a ton before our first son was born. Of course, I also learned that she loved cats too. I guess you have to accept trade offs.

I thought my requests for no more Axis & Allies videos had been processed and certified. I see that they have not. Please stop making it sound fun. Thank you. (I really need to talk my group into getting a game of this in. I've still never played!)

Yeah, this is my personal favorite A&A version. I even bought IPC "poker" chips that someone online made for this game. They weren't cheap, but it was a nice addition to the game. I already had the paper money, but the chips are just nicer/easier. :-)

Just recently I was looking for the Anniversary Edition and was disappointed I couldn't find it. Now they've re-released it, lmao. Seems almost too good to be true, unless I'm going crazy and seeing things, which is highly possible!

Cody you should try Axis and Allies 1940 world its such a bigger level game than anniversary edition. It adds the six countries in the anniversary edition plus France, Australia and China. The map is so much bigger when you combine the two games. I don't know if its just me but i find that i don't have to play the Anniversary edition after playing the game that way. Give it a try if you can.

I love A&A and I really love the Dust universe. Really wish there was a Dust version of the rules/setup…

I really thought the punchline for the opening joke was going to be "I was blown away"! Oh how wrong I was 😢

I think this is the sweetspot forworldwide Axis & Allies. Big enough and still interesting global choices. Just a bit unbalanced but easy to fix with a bid or minor setup changes. The production looks teh same from yoru vide as my old game. Meaning good!

Version 1 of the Anniversary tournament rules

We know you like War Room better than A&A. What are the things WR does better and what are the best player counts for both games?

Greatest WW2 version of A&A! The 41 scenario does have to be play balanced - at least according to my grognards fellow gamers.

I actually prefer 1940 Global to this…slightly 🙂

Can someone confirm me that the italians have the same stats than usa in combat resolution ? That would be unrealistic. And 2 things I don't like : - Manchuria is not painted with japan color. Although it was controlled by japan since 1930's. - Italy does not have specific figurines, they are a mix of japan and generic.

Where exactly can this new edition be purchased? I don't see anything on Renegade's site.

I've always shied-away from A&A (too much of a toy factor for us serious wargamers) ;^}) How would you rate other global WWII games that are not too complex and can be played in a reasonable time?

Pity the poor player getting Italy.

This game has 1 flaw. Its simply too long.
