ADAM, thanks for showing BULLOCK'S WILSHIRE ,a very famous department store for the well to do! Many happy times were spent up at the TEA ROOM on the fifth floor. HUELL HOWSER did a very good program there! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Hope you have someone to spend Christmas with, since you are not going to Florida and madam the woo is out of town. Thank you for all you do to entertain us every day! Merry Christmas Adam!
I have to watch Christmas vacation every year right after Thanksgiving! It's the first xmas movie I watch..faithfully. I was trying to figure out my favorite scene but...I love way too many!
I love Christmas vacation. Definitely my favorite Christmas movie! I think my favorite scene is where Clark is going on his second rang and says, "We're going to be happier than when Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny f***ing Kaye!" Makes me laugh to the point of crying every time.
I used to get dragged to Bullocks-Wilshire when I was a kid by my mom all the time to buy stuff like underwear and socks. Only now as an adult can I appreciate its awesomeness ;) By the way adam, check out the "Fine Arts Building" in Downtown L.A...that building is incredible art deco too!!
I missed this vid for some reason but it was great Adam.Christmas Vacation is a timeless classic and i try to have it playing every holiday season. You said it perfectly,we all should be thankful for what we have! There are so many that are less fortunate.I think we all need to start finding more ways to be there as much as we can and help who we can.
There are so many good scenes in Christmas Vacation! It's hard to narrow it down. I do love it when the cat is chewing on the Christmas lights and gets fried! That movie is my favorite Christmas movie!
My Dad used to work there when it was Bullocks Wilshire Department Store many many years ago. He worked in the luggage department then went on to be the merchandise buyer.
Me too Adam.. I wish I could just make the world better for everyone with the snap of my fingers. I dont even go back to L.A. anymore but yeah tons of Hollywood history still to see. Merry Christmas Adam the Woo.
4 minutes into this video all he has said relating to the subject matter is that this building (inside) was featured in the film "Christmas Vacation". Extreme bloviating! He does love to talk....
My mom and dad make it a point to watch Christmas Vacation every holiday season. I guess that it's a tradition. We never watch it any other time...just the holidays. I showed my pops this vlog and he got a kick out of it! My dad has been having health problems this season and I want to thank you for getting a charge out of him buddy! Keep it up. I enjoy The Daily Woo, it's usually interesting and light subject matter. I also like your analysis of certain subjects because I find them insightful and entertaining man. Really cool brother.
Great timing on this vlog because I just watched ChristmasVacation last night. It's an annual event for me. I did notice something interesting about cousin Eddie in the pet store but it's not appropriate to mention it here. Thanks for this one Adam. NLCV is maybe top 7 fav movie of mine.
Adam, that same exact building was used as a 1930s era live radio station for an old Our Gang/Little Rascals episode titled "The Pinched Singer." Its the famous episode where Alfalfa sings "I'm In The Mood For Love" and wins the contest in Darla Hood's place after she gets her coat stuck.
If you want to see the inside just watch visiting with huell Howser Bullocks Wilshire library. It will give you a great view of the inside as it was during it's working age.
I used to work down the street from there on the other side of the Archdiocese where the Golden Monkey club was. I taught Graphic Arts & Web Design at a school there. I'd take some of the students on a walk around that area and that school was one of our stops. We got to go in and there's an equestrian entrance at the back. There's also a small room to the left of that entrance that was once the perfume counter. The weird thing is we could still smell the smell of the perfume. I love Art Deco. The Ray Chandler mystery/detective novels mention locations like that all over LA when Wilshire Blvd. was the Miracle Mile. Nearby the school was the Ambassador Hotel and across the street was what was left of the Brown Derby. So Cal lets these historical treasure's just melt away.
So with that first building I imagine some people actually got together and tried to decide what the building should be named. How interesting to see that they decided on Bullocks.
At 8:38 ya hit an emotional coard... Merry Christmas my friend Adam, happy New Year and peace on earth. Looking forward to a Plethora of Woo goodness in 2016!
I learn a myriad of little tidbits from your vids, Adam. Thanks for all of your vids. You have often brought a ray of sunshine to my day with your humor. I am very grateful for that. Merry Christmas. :)
The real Christmas Vacation house is at Warner Brothers Ranch in Burbank. It's still there next to the Lethal Weapon House still looks the same. I film there once in a while.
Adam! Robocop and robocop 2. Filming locations in Dallas and Houston, Tx. The opening scene for R2 was filmed in my hometown of Baytown, Texas (east of Houston) I watched some of it from about 100yds away. Put it on your list!
Ive seen the movie 100s of times the part that cracks me up everytime is when he plugs the lights in and it dont work and he has a fit god that gets me everytime
I can't make my mind up as to which is my favorite christmas movie, this or home alone, both are so different and have classic moments. as far as the best moments of the movie, that's equally as hard to say as I watch it multiple times throughout the holiday seasan, and every time I watch it it's as funny as the last time I saw It. What's even more interesting is that I think i catch some new subtle line or nuance every year. What i also find amazing that how both movies you'd swear were made within the last 10 years until you see the family running through the airport in hom alone trying to get to a phone, and realize that cell phones wouldn't come out for another 2 years. lol. Both movies really hold up to longevity. Just so many great scenes and they usually involve cousin eddy. I actually have to resist watching those movies during the summer so as when the holiday come around they're still fresh. I watch home alone every thanksgiving evening; I think it's on network TV too that day, and then will come along CV at some point, and many more times to come. I wish the cast would keep making moreof them while they're still with us as they're iconic characters.
Adam come to harriman TN... Do the October sky locations I'll show ya every location from the movie... I'm your biggest fan for real it would be a blessing to hear from you I seen every filming location video of yours man love what your doing
Your videos brighten my day! Christmas Vacation is seriously one of my fav films! You should pull favors and try to get some time in the house used for the filming. It's on the Warner Brothers Ranch property.
Actually, I think you actually said "actually" fifteen times in this vlog. But I actually still enjoyed it very much. I actually didn't want to leave this comment. I actually thought it was a bit overdone, but actually I thought that it would be more helpful in actually making your vlogs better than if I didn't mention it at all. I wasn't actually going to write this last sentence but it actually gave me the opportunity to write "actually" three more times. Did I mention that I actually really love your videos. They are actually quite entertaining. So keep on keeping on, if that actually makes any sense.
Great vlog adam. We are indeed blessed. Xmas vacation is an awesome movie. Didn't you film the house at the warner ranch? I believe the bewitched house is next to it as well. Well merry chrismas eve eve haha.
+adamthewoo love that movie it is a classic thank u for showing us that filming location and also u very right we are blessed to have what we have i feel same way when i see people struggling it is very sad
Christmas Vacation is also one of my favorite Christmas movies. It is right up there with A Christmas Story. Chevy Chase movies are great! Thank you for another great video, Adam. I will talk to you later.
wow you talked about rolling your windows up. the is an area in knoxville that is like that. The street is called Broadway and it has three different shelters for the homeless there and a interstate bridge goes over it. people hang out there under the bridge and you have to watch out or they will walk out in front of you ., you have to slow down there as there are two stop lights there in that stretch of road. I think they want you to hit them with your car. I always roll up my windows and lock my doors as they scare me. Hope that does not sound bad.
1270 yes l think you showing knowledge an information that is not common knowledge is awesome an l learn a lot from your vlogs so thank you very much an love you to
