I'm a Thomasville native, and it was awesome seeing you were in the area. I hope the storms weren't too rough last night! Tallahassee still has a Bojangles, and the one you went to in Valdosta is kinda iffy but great when you're starving. Funfact: that OM convenience store in Thomasville used to be called S&M! Naturally, they had to change the name, especially since it's on the same block as the Catholic church. Enjoy your stay in the City of Roses and may US 84 treat you well!
I'm so happy for you, that you get to do this. I've been to many, many small towns along the east coast, but usually just passing by. Being able to stop, and explore, at your own pace is such a blessing and a gift. Best of luck, and safe travel Adam....and thanks for sharing your journey.
That drone shot in the morning was amazing. I love seeing small southern towns, but it makes me sad that they're all dying. I lived in oneonta, alabama for a while. It had that dried up main street feeling where most shops were closed and lots were grown over. Drive safe, Adam. Can't wait for tomorrow's video!
It is great to see Adam back out on the road again going through small towns of America, there is so much to see if we just stop and look like Adam does. Thanks for the awesome vlogs.
I really enjoyed this vlog---like I always do ! Best part is that you seem happy ----we do worry about you and feel the need to keep you from harm !!!! Hope you can deal with all the love !!!!!! blessings--see you tomorrow.... Deanna
Hey Adam, you probably won't see this. But you should look into getting 3-4 deep cycle batteries for your RV. You be able to charge them and run electric at night and not worry about having dead batteries. Also, you should look into getting a couple of solar panels, so the batteries charge throughout the day. But it's all pretty expensive, and I'm sure you've already looked into it. Because I want to travel to country and full time in RV as well. Keep up the great videos!
What a neat little town, it would be perfect for a movie or tv show. I too have an obsession with old school Americana and the history of small and abandoned towns and I live in Canada. Great vlog, lovin the large Marge.
hey Adam, if you're going to be in your rv for a long time, you might want to look into solar panels for your roof and batteries and a inverter so you can run your microwave, TV or computer, and have LEDs that can run off the 12 volts. it would be more energy efficient and you wouldn't be so dependent on your generator.
I envisioned the next Farmer's insurance commercial when Adam drove between the cars. "Tight Squeeze"- famous last words -"I think I got this... " followed by expected crunching sounds and "Nope I don't got this".
Hi Adam ! If you ever get back Tom Hope andmsouthwest Arkansas, find your way to Old Washington Historic State Park. There, you'll find Hames Black's blacksmith shop where the Bowie Knife was made, The World's Buggest Magnolia Tree and a very old printing press whose type was gandmade and set. There's a lit of other cool stuff, too, but that was just a sample to wet your appetite ! Best time to go is in March during the Jonquil Festival. (I grew up 4 miles from there. What a cool childhood,, huh ?)
A lot of stores here in California now charge you 10 cents each for a bag - so we have to bring our own bags. Those little plastic bags they used to give our were filling up the landfills and never never disappear. I hate that I have to pay 10 cents for a bag but it is heavier and lot more durable than those flimsy ones.
Adam, May I suggest changing the format of your videos to more of a commercial travel vlog. If you post them by area and include maps, the videos would be helpful to people visiting the areas you are discussing and have a wider appeal (foreign visitors). You could be another Rick Steves. I have followed you since your van days. Good luck on all your adventures.
Now that's an Adam the Woo opening...water bottle and all! Seeing the "Big Foot Travel Center" reminded me of the "Monster Mart" in Fouke, Arkansas. Was there at the filming location of the movie "The Legend of Boggy Creek" the old 70's horror classic. Got to meet some locals and hear their stories. Cool destination if your in Southwest Arkansas. Interesting to see Georgia still using the Confederate First National flag as a basis for their state flag. Guess those who wish to wipe out our history haven't figured that out yet. Some of those Georgia towns are looking like the sets of Walking Dead. Lock your doors at night! Biters!
Holy Moly! You were in the Valdosta/Lake Park area! That's wild! It's crazy seeing you explore the area that I lived my whole entire life in. I wish I could have said hi in person!
Love the drone footage. Looked like Deland, FL at first glance. Would love to see your stops at Mom and Pop diners, dives also. Get a UPS box Adam! Great job.
Hey Adam, love your videos! If you don't already have 1 get a water pressure regulator for your RV. Some campsites water pressure too high for Large Marge components.
While you are on this adventure you should take pictures of all these awesome signs and make a coffee table book out of it. I would kickstart that, or just buy it normally.
I second that remark, LoLoadventures... Adam does have a pretty awesome family. You can tell that they support him doing the "AdamTheWoo" thing...the video's and the vlogs...everything and for a dad or mom not to tell you "Get A Job and stop wasting you're time, money and energy on this" is really cool, not all parents would understand is all I'm saying here...love his families support of his endeavors (:
Be sure you make your way up to Plains, Ga and see the birth place of Jimmy Carter. Also, if you love good southern food, swing by Yoder's Deitsch Haus Restaurant and Bakery in Montezuma, Ga. Lots of beautiful old towns in my home state.
Wow I´m Impressed by how abandoned this small towns are..... kind of makes me sad.....does anybody know why? I guess as not american these are the things that we don´t see of the US. Love this daily vlogs and your channels!!! Keep going Adam!
I miss the whole "downtown" era. Most of it has been obliterated from so CA... I should do a then and now tour of Orange County... youve inspired me, Adam :)
I'm watching this video on two devices so I can comment can't do it from my ps3, love it man I've always wanted to see all this history from round the states, so cool! Thanks mam
You just popped up in my recommended videos, I decided to take a peek and coincidentally you are also in Georgia right now! Enjoy the trip. By the way the numbers are not Rumanian, but Roman. LOL
HEY! Before I finish watching this video, I wanted to say I notice you're drinking Zephyrhills water dude! That's the same water I drink, I'm in Zephyrhills! FRIGGIN AWESOME.lol. At least you know the city I live in. You should check out the old Zephyrhills train (where live stock was) and the airplane that's like a b24 I believe it is or such, or the old auction grounds where they used to have live stock that Ozzi and other famous people have performed at, not a whole lot here but we're known as "Sky dive city" due to so many people skydiving here, if you're ever just passing through one day maybe near Lakeland Florida again (I seen the pillars you show cased). The city is growing a bunch more now but it used to be like almost a retirement community hehe, not anymore, although I wish it was.
Hey Adam, those trailers are used primarily for hauling peanuts. Thomasville is a great town. Thomasville is also the home of Flowers Bakery, the makers of Sunbeam bread and other breads.
Subscribed today. You're much more observant of your surroundings then most and have a knack of uncovering interesting details. Bought a new 26ft. Class C this year. You can get a 300W to 400W. inverter that plugs in to one of your 12V. outlets for charging your electronics when you don't want to run the generator, they're about $50.
I love how they claimed that there wasn't any 90 degree angles on the property of that house and yet you could clearly see several perfectly square rooms sticking out of it. Haha! People must have been gullible or didn't know geometry back then.
I feel kind of sad about that town and all those abandoned buildings. It looks like it's dying and soon will be a complete Ghost Town. I hope I am wrong...
Robert Moore small old towns seem to only survive near big cities or out in mountains with nothing around. the oldest hardware store in Cincinnati is still surviving. its located in overtherine next to downtown.
You were exploring my stomping grounds! I can't believe you missed Metcalf and the cool abandoned plantation house on 221 outside of Quitman. Please dont miss these next time!
