As a Samoan, this hits deep. Not only is this being sung with such love, loto and mana, I just feel how our people are so connected. Our Moana truly unites us.
What a beautiful rendition. Faafetai lava. The Maori culture has always been beautiful in my eyes. This so emotionally beautiful. To hear the samoan language being honored in this way especial with the Maori culture and language magically woven in is such a beautiful display. Such an honor to watch this magic unfold before me! Faafetai lava!! Kia ora!!
As a new Zealand born Samoan Tongan, Ever since I started primary school all the way to college and even still we were taught Maori Waiata, Haka, Basic Maori words And our very own Pepeha. And I realized that learning their language and culture was my way of paying respects to the tangata whenua and Maori ancestors that toiled these lands. And hearing this kapa haka group sing a tribute song from my beloved Samoa really put me to tears and really did make me proud to be a Samoan. All the pronunciation was on point. Madluv to all my Maori brothers and sisters❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am Samoan/Mexican and I reside in Los Angeles and couldn't help but crying as I watched this intense performance from our brothers and sisters from Aotearoa. Kapai, kapai and what a job well done.
As a Samoan, I am so moved by this version and the Kapa Haka group for choosing to sing this for those who were affected by the measles back in Samoa. Thank you deeply for singing it with such grace, heart and mana✊🏾❤️.
@@rahmason5055 This song is sung by Lole Usoalii - Tu i Luga (Rise) lyrics. You'll find the lyrics there both in Samoan and English. This awesome Kapa Haka group, made it sound powerful with more than one voice, which made the song even more stronger. And for them to translate it into Maori is beautiful ❤️. Hope that helped ☺️
This performance just gave every Samoans around the world the goosebumps and the passion we have as a proud nation , ka pai whanau te mātārae I ôrehu this is awesome dedication ❤🇼🇸🇳🇿 #ProudSamoanKiwiBorn #PolynesianArohaAlofa
I've watched this more than I can remember over the last 3 years. The pronunciation and transition between both languages is flawless. The delivery and conviction in and of their message has me humbled as a Samoan. This is pure and beautiful, and not just from a cultural perspective. I was norn and raised in Samoa and moved here before I was 10 with my family. Over the years of living in Aotearoa, this is my favourite display of both cultures as one. On any stage. Ever. Thank you for this... 3 years on, and for as long as I have the means of watching it.
The first time I heard this song I Thought!!!..... their singing In a different language or I’m hearing Things and then I came here to read some comments which clarified my Thought lol🙃
As a Proud Samoan 🇼🇸 Man this gave me goosebumps this is a reminder of how beautiful our Maori and Pasifika cultures are Faafetai lava for the audience of one ☝️ #United
I'm a Puerto Rican living in New York City. Maori/Samoan/Poly music and hakas always make me very emotional. I think it speaks to something deeper in my soul. This was no exception, and I think I wept through most of it. What incredible voices, and what a gift to the world. Thank you.
Seki love this performance not just because their singing a song of my people but because every time maoris perform they sound like they pour their heart and soul into everything they do 🖤🇳🇿🇼🇸 Alofa Aku

I love this, our samoan, tongan, niuean, cook island, Indians, Asian and all cultures have stood and performed with us in our native tongue, I'm proud to hear their native tongue sung on stage from our people. This is Acknowledgement of love and respect. We all bleed the same, go through the same pain, and we suffer the same. LOVE THIS SOMETHING LIKE THIS SPEAKS VOLUMES.
As a proud Samoan born in New Zealand. I have nothing but the utmost respect for my Maori brothers and sisters. This was absolutely beautiful whanau. ❤️

I regret watching this! I'm on the ferry to work. I'm half samoan half maori and this made me cry like a baby tena ra koutou a te roopu mo to rangatiratanga. Manuia
This was awesome! And like many kiwi Samoans, we were immersed in the Maori culture growing up and have many Maori 'brothers and sisters'. Even though there were times I was treated 'less than' for being Samoan, I would tell my younger self now, that it is okay and to stand strong and proud coz we were all fighting the same fight as kiwis.
I'm a samoan born in nz now live in hawaii I am so proud to see our brothers and sisters in this incredible kapa haka group sing an amazing rendition of tu i luga by the beautiful lole ❤️
Uniting two Whanaus as 1 Samoan and Maori. Thank you for doing this. MY nan passed away and she would appreciate this with a Samoan song. I know someone in this group he would resonate with the song as it was sung. Never forget your roots and what you committed into. Beautiful waiata whanau always!!!!! SAMAORI
Sang this song as a tribute for my people , when they were fighting the measles outbreak 😔 hearing this in Māori , takes me down a whole new path .. growing up i've always respected the māori culture and seeing you guys sing a song so close to my heart makes me appreciate the culture even more ❤ Thank you for taking me down a story that i will cherish forever 🔗 Reasons why i love the māori culture is because New Zealand itself is such a diverse country, but you all share one ahurea ❤ This world still needs to see what impacts you Māoris / polynesians can make 🔗❤
The peoples who dislike this beautiful video are the ones that they missed out and dont know anything about how beauty of Polynesian culture around the world even spreading in Hollywood im so proud of my Polynesian heritage
This always hits the soul. Im Samoan German and Fijian. I speak Samoan fluently but i grew up with the Maoris all my life. So i can now say i speak maori and i even have a ta moko which has mix maori designs and samoan in it. Love my Māori brothers and sisters
Thank you for this tribute, goosebumps crawling all over my skin. Samoa also has a connection with the father of the action song Apriana Ngata. Much love family
I cannot believe I’m only now seeing this... 😞. The alofa and mana felt through this beautiful rendition, sent my spirit soaring. Absolutely Stunning 😭😍🔥🔥🔥🔥.

Our top kapa haka groups don't muck around. They know to do things absolutely right or not at all. This is out of respect of course to the lyrics of the waiata they sing. Nga mihi x
Te Reo Maori is one of the most beautiful languages and to have them sing a waiata in both Samoan and Te Reo was so touching I couldn't stop the tears. This was beyond beautiful 😍
