"The Tea Company released just this one LP in their active period in the late 1960's. The sound of this New York based band is highly psychedelic/trippy and I can say that I dig their sound very much. The material is a mix of short and long tracks. "You Keep Me Hangin' On" is a very nice cover and I enjoy all of the songs on this strong psych rock classic.
I remember when I listened to this album for the first time some years ago I didn't find it to be anything special. But after more listens it has really grown on me. Nowadays I find this LP to be one of the finest examples about the late 1960's American psychedelia. Highly recommended if you're interested in the genre."

Hey Jon - How do you edit the tracklists with the BLUE MINUTE indicators, so that you can go direct to a track? Would appreciate a reply as I intend to do that on my uploads. Thanks

@@groovedohg Hi, Paul! You simply type the numbers in a digital clock format without any special code. For example, in "Easy Peasy 23:45", the code sees the colon then automatically reads the numbers on either side. Formatting it into a clickable link. Voila!

@@travellingbarrett Hey awesome man - I really appreciate your quick reply. It is always good that people not associated with the upload take the time out to edit the lists. It is so convenient. I will try it out shortly - Thanks again

@@groovedohg I'm glad to help. Little things like this mean so much more these days. Also, I test every link I create. Leaving, at the very least, half-a-second of silence before the next track. Wherever possible, of course. Please feel free to reach out anytime.

If we were having tea, we wouldn't be sipping it, we'd be smoking it. A fine example of American Northeast psych. The entire New England area was fertile ground for underground psych bands. Garage bands that created upper echelon psych music. This LP was definitely a trip. Make Love Not War was part of the lingo of the day just like peace, groovy, far out and Got any acid ?

Over here in the Netherlands we had 2 bands with tea in the name. The first was the Tee Set and the other was After Tea. But this band is another cup of tea. Much more psychedelic music. Very good stuff.

In the fifties beats (beatniks) called marijuana TEA due to it’s resemblance and of course to confuse the cops and squares. Like much of the beat words ( cool, hip, etc) it was carried over into sixties freak (hippie) slang.😎✌🏽☮️🎸

The band was briefly called the Lip-Tin Tea Company but unsurprisingly they had to shorten it to The Tea Company so not to get in trouble with Lipton.

@@jerrythepeddler4014 You're right, they were originally called The Naturals, way back in 1963, but they were later called the Lip-Tin Tea Company. Unsurprisingly they renamed themselves the Tea Company to avoid lawsuits from Lipton.

somewhere I heard that they played around the same area of NY as Vanilla Fudge in 67 and opened them here and there, and was sometimes in that habit of covering there songs before the VF would come on.Just as to terwk them off, I guess. Witch would explain the cover of You Keep Me Hanging On that blends into a Ultimate Spinach melody.
