I am so pleased to hear you say that by finally watching 'Psycho II' as you did for your watch party, that you will no longer regard it with embarrassment or by the bad experience you had, when someone asks you about it.... what a brilliantly cathartic tea time that was!! And that's a pretty good sized mug....that's the kind I like. VERY interesting episode today. Fascinating to hear about your time making "Valmont" & your fellow cast members. I haven't seen that one in years but that's indeed a fine film ! Today is the first time I've actually heard construction sounds from your neighbor. What a hassle that must be for you & Don to put up with that all day long ! I have Irish blood too. Years ago one of my cousins on my mom's side did a family tree & traced one of our ancestors directly back to Ireland. On my dad's side I have German ancestry. And I'm sure there's some Anglo/Scot blood in there too. That's fascinating stuff about the Chinese calendar. I was lucky enough in 2009 to see the Chinese New Year Parade in Washington DC's Chinatown. And how sad that appearing in "Psycho II" was a bad experience for you. You certainly can't tell from your fine performance. I'm reading a biography of Anthony Perkins ("Split Image") that I got for only a dollar at a local thrift store. A shame he didn't treat you better. He was a deeply troubled soul. On a lighter note, do you know what another term is for belly dancing ? NAVEL MANEUVERS ! 😂

Hello Meg----- The cast of "Valmont" was so perfect in my humble opinion. That said: Fairuzas' Mother, Cathryn Balk, a.k.a. "Farideh" passed away on 10/4/2018 in Vancouver, B.C.. There were no services but there is a memorial page dedicated to her. Her daughter Fairuza was outstanding in 'Valmont".

I’m sitting in my camper van at the grocery store parking lot watching tea time, lol! I got the notification and here I am….haaa

Henry is still very busy acting still - he is a frequent collaborator with writer-director Mike Flanagan, whose scary mini-series such as "The Haunting of Hill House" and "Midnight Mass" have been hugely successful on Netflix. Henry co-starred in both of those, and he's currently in Vancouver with Mike Flanagan again working on the next mini-series - an adaptation of Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher". In a coincidental bit of trivia - when Mike filmed the 2019 sequel to "The Shining" - titled "Doctor Sleep" - he cast Henry as the ghost of Jack Nicholson's character from the original movie.

It is heartwarming to hear that Psycho II has become a cozy zone. Have you read the 1959 novel?

Hey Meg. I just rewatched 'Valmont' for the umpteenth time and wondered how you are getting along in the world. What a lovely surprise to find your bubbly self with your own YT (apparently pandemic era and a bit beyond) channel. I really wish, I had bumped into you at the time for tea and biscuits, as your brightness would have helped lift my spirits✨ Just to say, apart from appreciating your wonderful work in the film very much, I always wish that you had been given more of an extensive role somehow, as it feels like you are missing too much at times. I just feel like there should have been a little bit more done to develop your character and relationship with Valmont. Anyway, I am of course glad for the moments you are on screen and will always continue to revisit the film in future and appreciate your performance I hope that things are going well for you post pandemic and all and thanks for brightening up my grey cloudy British evening today, even if I am a couple of years late for your upload of this one. Hi Meg I think psycho 4 is a very good movie with Henry Thomas playing Norman Bates as I really like the Flash back scenes In the movie showing Normans child hood and revealing how he became who he was, It was the last time Anthony Perkins Played Norman Bates, but I always thought the movie had a Happy ending to a certain extent and that's what I like most About It.

Have you seen Palm Beach? Bryan Brown & Rachel Ward made the film. She directed it. It started as an idea because Bryan had been dealing with anxiety. I haven't see it yet, but I intend to. It came out in 2019. I so enjoy your tea times. You always make me smile.

Me again. I just watched Palm Beach. It is a very well done coming of age 60s or 70s film! Rachel Ward and Bryan Brown have been long time proponents of equality of women in movies etc. Rachel only got to direct this because Bryan Brown was a producer. She hired a lot of talented women for production. I liked it. Thank you for reading my babbling. More men are learning that axiey and depression don't only happen to women. It is such a big step in this area. area.

I thought they would have used someone elses backside for that scene with Colin. Because it only shows her looking down, and him facing a bare backside. I thought that must have been awkward scene to do but then thought, maybe it wasn't hers.

Bonjour Meg! 😊 It's been a while since I've commented but I'm still happily following your tea times. 😋 I got a chance to see VALMONT again the other day and wow, it is a beautiful film. Milos Forman was a master of making epic timepieces. Coincidentally, AMADEUS was on last night and I had to watch, for the 300th time. 😉 Watching these films are so visually stimulating particularly due to the flawless detailing of the costumes and sets. While I believe VALMONT deserved a better reception, I've learned not to care too much about box office returns and awards. It must have been the experience of a lifetime making it. Henry Thomas was in the 4th PSYCHO alongside the great Olivia Hussey as Norma Bates. It was quite an intense story but it gave much insight into understanding the character of Norman. I apologise if you answered this question before: What was it like working with Vera Miles? I'm a huge admirer of her work from the Classic Era. She is still with us but has been reclusive for many years now.

I know I’m kinda late to this because I just saw this video, but I just wanted to say this episode was wonderful. 😊 also, I remember watching “Valmont” for the very first time when I was 16 (I don’t remember how I came across the movie), and I kinda felt weird at first because prior to that I’d only seen Colin play fatherly roles. So yeah. It was quite an odd experience watching him play a not-so-good guy. It also didn’t help that I was about the same age as fairuza’s character. 😅 Anyway, I did enjoy the movie and I really liked your performance. 😊 I also relate to that feeling that a lot of folks have regarding going out again. On one hand, there’s that desire to go back to normal, but on the other, the pandemic is still very much present so you can’t help but feel like it may not be super safe yet even if you practice all these safety measures. You do have to kind of take everything one step at a time. This pandemic hasn’t been the easiest for a lot of people, so if you have some apprehensions regarding going outside, it’s completely fine. Thanks for such a wonderful episode. It’s always a delight to hear stories about your experience with specific films. Take care and stay safe. 🧡

You & Fairuza Balk have a lot in common, aside of being women & actresses. You both were born in California then your families moved to British Columbia & both grew up here, then later moved away to establish acting careers. Small world.

Is it difficult for you to watch yourself on film? I've read that some actors wouldn't attend screenings for movies they were in just because of that, regardless of how good their performance was
