What a lovely, happy, and very humble man. He speaks about what he knows only which is very wise. The questions were great and I learned a lot more about the man, Alfred Brendel in that lovely interview. His joy and the joy expressed by the interviewer is a wonderful thing to see.
It was a great, great honor to hear Alfred Brendel speak about music, as he is one of my 5 all-time favorite pianists. My box set of complete Beethoven sonatas is Wilhelm Kempf, and I am thoroughly.pleased with it. I also have the complete box set of Beethoven String Quartets by Emerson Quartet I purchased in the 1990s. Then my Dad brought home two double CD packages of the Budapest String Quartet of the 1940s playing all Beethoven, but not all the quartets. Even an ignoramus like me could immediately tell the difference. God Bless you, Mr. Brendel- your recordings will live forever!
I really missed the maestro I haven’t heard of him about one or two years. I hope he’s in healthy condition. Could you invite him for another tea time?
