Hey everyone! I’m not a melancholy soul, I promise, but here’s another song about unrequited looove. 😉"Teach Me" was written at about the same time as "Blind Boy." The idea came when I was sitting in my room, thinking everyone else seems to have a handle on this whole love thing a lot better than I do! I opened my journal and wrote the line, ‘If anyone knows how to fix a broken heart, then TEACH ME,’ and it took off from there. I hope you enjoy it! 😊

I feel we often forget that amazing people like Lexi have struggles too. Everyone has struggles, even those that seem like they have it all figured out. These people could just be forcing a smile... we never really know. Often times they will figure it out, and I’m sure Lexi will too, but sometimes they need some help... someone to teach them. Okay, Lexi! Here’s some thoughts from an old lady who has been enchanted by your voice for years! 3 things that don’t necessarily have to do with THIS particular song (though I still love it). I think it’s time for another trip back to AGT! I adore listening to your whistle notes! Lastly, even though it’s not a song that’s as powerful as the Frozen songs you’ve done, I think a sweet little song for you would be “All Is Found” which Elsa & Anna’s mother sings to them as children. Would love to see you acting it out with the kids from the choir. It’s sweet and gentle and would just be precious! Just remember, I’m old so I may be suffering from early senility. Obviously I just think you’re darling, so talented and have an incredible voice! I know suggesting the lullaby may be because I’m probably succumbing to hormonal shifts. I still think it’d be so dear. Forgive me. I get mushy about puppy and kitty commercials even when it’s about litter or the like. Just keep singing, sweetheart! You’re reaching right into our 💕 hearts!

Out on a limb just a bit here, but Walker and Hammerstein does have a nice ring to it. It may still seem some distance from Utah to Broadway, but destiny will prove hard to resist. Your voice infuses even sad songs with optimism. When you are old enough to look back, you will see more clearly how the broken heart of today opened the path to wherever life takes you. And along the way, we all hope you will continue to amaze us.

"How to fix a broken heart, then teach.." - Through childhood and youth, trees, sun, wind have always been there with me no matter what. I have always somehow felt support from seeing it all around me. So much so that no matter what anyone told me in youth or did that hurt me, I could still feel support and love when I just.. ran to a forest or a place I could be alone in nature. A poem I recently wrote: If all the stars in the sky would choose for whom to shine and for whom not, they could not be stars. If the sun would take vacations from providing light and warmth, it could not be the sun. There is no opinion that could out-rule the fundamental structure of nature and life itself. - note: and nature, life itself by its fundamental structure is supportive of life (itself).

Such a beautiful piece of music. I wish that someone could teach me how. The pain is so real that some people try to ignore it but not all can. doesn't matter how long it takes to fix that broken heart, because of no matter what someone else will break it and make the pain harder. I love how Lexi has moved onto the next plateau - her unique voice continues to mature and she shines and delivers...and she teases with a hint of playful improv - which I hope she explores.
