+NanaBorderCollie Aww that is so happy and sad at the same time, I can imagine he was very good at it, it looks like he was the perfect build for balancing. It is Voxel's favourite too, probably because it is impossible to resist him doing it :-)
I came for the thumbnail and to see other people's cute good ferrets doing tricks, stayed for the fluffy chunky beefcake at the beginning. :D Watching this video reminds me of my albinos from 10 years ago.
This video is helpful and hilarious. One suggestion I have is that you add another segment of the successful bunny hops at the end. I went back to the beginning after watching to see them again, but I think it would round the video out nicely to have them at the end as well.
Maddy Mitchem nope i decided it wouldnt have been a great idea since you have to dedicate lots of time for them and clean up daily but i got a hamster which is living happily since i bought an ikea detolf🥺💖
I was having a hard time trying to get my ferret to hop he just didn't want to. I spent weeks jus trying to get him to hop. We were both getting discouraged. I kept up with his standing and today he got it down. He would stand on his legs and jump for a toy, so when he did I'd treat him. I was able to remove the toy and just do treats.
What is not explained in any teach a ferret a trick vid is that a trick is a skill & ferrets use their skills for trouble. I used to teach all mine to stand up & roll over. Soon they were standing up to get at things. I had half doors blocking the kitchen and their room. One would stand & jump by the door every day. I kinda laughed thinking she wouldn't get over untill one morning I woke to a ferret that had got over 2 doors, dumped the recyclables & was playing with the empty bottles/cans. Took 2 tries of rebuilding the half doors to contain her but she still tried till she was too old & sick.
What treats are you giving your ferrets cause my ferrets are picky on what I get them. and it looks like your ferret enjoys the treats. so I was going to see if I could find the treats you are giving your ferret.
Sketchin'sanity yes!, they are very good at balancing, they even do it to look for things. I struggled with one of them because he can’t hear a clicker and is very uninterested in food.
Ferrets are escape artists. They will go through and climb over anything they can. Don't leave them unattended in a room. I had ferrets burrow into a couch. Sitting on them and stepping on them hinding in a coat sleeve on the floor, can kill or break a leg. I had one tear through a vent hose to the outside; use metal dryer vent hose with clamps. I love ferrets nothing like them. I own 8.
+Oxizee Ferrets (like lots of other animals including cats and dogs) have anal glands, ferrets can expel these when they are scared but because it only happens when they are very scared (or sometimes excited) it hardly ever happens (some of ours have never done it, ever), it's certainly not their main smell. The operation to remove the glands can be risky so I would say it's definitely not worth it. Having them neutered can reduce their natural smell quite a bit and washing their blankets regularly means they smell more of washing powder!
hehe, ok thanks, i will see what ill do. I have a small apartment (livingroom/kitchen and sleepingroom). I dont really have a other room where they can stay.
+Oxizee I live in an apartment and have had up to 6 ferrets at one time. Honestly, being really attentive about cleaning and taking out the litter, plus washing their bedding regularly will dramatically reduce any smell. People come over and don't even know I have a ferret until they see the litter pans. Hope this helps!
Christian Repenter At the start you click than give it a treat so it knows that the click means it gets the treat and that it did something right. so when you click at the end of a trick it knows it did right.
@@FaithandActiondotnet yeah I don't really get the point of a clicker when you can simply make a click noise with your mouth or just any certain noise for when they do something right
Yes, it’s funny but it’s a very bad idea! It might bring spinal problems and finally your pet will stop moving. All these jumps, standing is a bad idea, stop doing this circus and teach others to hurt their pets!
