Love your vlogs!! You bring such joy to the classroom. It’s so refreshing and inspiring. Watching you read tacky the penguin to your students was the sweetest! My goal this year is to work on differentiating (especially for my higher level learners). I was actually just talking about how I was discouraged about my differentiation this week in my vlog lol. I would LOVE to hear more about how you differentiate without adding an enormous amount of work on your plate!
Thank you so much! Joy is always my goal and I’m feeling so grateful and happy in the classroom this year. Differentiation is sooo challenging but super necessary. I’ll definitely be talking a lot more about this in videos more often! 💛
Wow, your vlog #7 is amazing. Your students are so lucky to have you as their teacher.I retired from teaching in 2019 after teaching 41 years. I have taught first, second and third grade. Most of my career however, was in second grade. First, your classroom is so beautiful. You have a knack for creativity which is so obvious. It is so thoughtful of you to buy books for your students. I used to do the same thing. Scholastic is a great source to buy books cheaply, the free gifts are a bonus. They made it so much easier now that you can do everything on line. In my beginning teaching years you had to collect money from kids and send it in to Scholastic. It use to be a chore, so glad they had improved it over the years.. If you can I would try to buy more of the Tacky books now for next year. If I recall, they change the books they offer each year for $1. I used to love teaching about text features, your lessons look outstanding and I love how you have students repeat after you when learning new vocabulary and definitions. I used Whole Brain Teaching in all my lessons, it really helps the kiddos remember. You look like you are using WBT strategies as well. I look forward to your vlogs, it brings me back to the 41 years of teaching elementary kiddos and they lessons that I used to teach. Till your next vlog, Keep On Inspiring Young Minds!
