I mean you'd hope so considering the students are like 18/19-20 at the earliest and that the education directly costs money. If you wanna goof off then fine, no skin off the teacher's nose. You're the one who wasted like a grand on classes, not the professor. I honestly have to respect that because it's just like the real world; being wasteful doesn't really affect anyone but you, and maybe your family, and expecting to be pushed forward despite not putting in any effort is a fallacy for 99.9% of people.
Yes but actually no. Really depends on the college. The college I'm at is more or less a split. The Aviation Program treats you as mindless cashcows and makes you responsible for uncontrollable variables. The Computer Systems Program has really great teachers that have inspired me to go above and beyond and to really try and enjoy my work, I felt comfortable communicating to them I was having mental health struggles.
GOD created us to be with Him. (Genesis 1-2) OUR sins separate us from God. (Genesis 3) SINS cannot be removed by good deeds. (Acts-Revelation) Now what's stopping you from reading the Bible and learning who God is?
Idk about high school but im a Canadian and some teachers are still mean but some are nice. Just depends on the school I guess but I go to a private school so it might be different in a public school
I had a girl literally reach into her pants and pull out her bl00d smeared hand and just look at the teacher like 😐"Now you see it. I'm going to the bathroom."
That's actually horrible. My dad died this past semester and I had to miss a week of classes, and was able to take two exams later. Professors understand that life can be shitty
When my grandmother passed I decided to go to school anyways, my professor told me to go home, and email him when I get there, he emailed some of my other teachers who didn't know what was going on, and also gave me a giant lollipop for being sad to try to cheer me up.
Once went to a college class with a profusely bleeding knee after I fell on the way there. Teacher looked horrified and told me to go get it checked out ASAP. I was so confused.
This… actually reassures my fears to a degree. I’m feeling dreadfully unprepared for college, and my study skills are bad as it is. The freedom college offers is both comforting and concerning.
Try to set aside time every so often to study. It was hard for me to get in the habit as well but college is very personalized and it doesn’t really matter how you get the information in as long as you do. You can do it :)

Some professors aren’t nice, but there are people to help you, and if you have a problem with a professor and need to report them, do it. Seriously. If they’re being a jerk to you, they’re probably being a jerk to others.
Is that Hannah having a seizure in the back of the class? Someone tell her that she needs to finish page 73 of the book " how to grow grass" she could really end up needing that.
That is literally this one really mean teacher at my school. This girl was being sick everywhere and the teacher just said “Stop overreacting and turn to page 12”
who are also toxic "managers" at jobs that don't pay nearly enough to begin with. Yet with their attitudes they assume their petty paying jobs are not a dime a dozen.🐢🐢🐢Cara
Tip for anyone who has a period: If your teacher refuses to let you go to the bathroom, or see the nurse for that matter, just get up and go. Screw what they say; let your parents deal with it after the fact. It's better than bleeding through your pants and being in pain. I know this may take courage, but a teacher should hopefully realize the severity of the situation and won't have a leg to stand on when you tell your VP or guidance counselor that your a-hole teacher is refusing to let you deal with a biologically uncontrollable thing. :-)
@@stayhalalfolks grab the period pad and slam it on their desk. "If you want me to stain my clothing, i'll just respectfully change it right in the middle of class next time." If it happens again, stick to what you said (don't get up and exhibit your privates just do it at your desk, if you can bring a towel to cover up) and then put it on your desk) You stayed in class AND avoided staining your clothing. You followed every rule.
I'm doing online school (currently 4th 'year' - mostly credit wise) and I think this is very accurate. Seriously. I purposely didn't work extremely hard on a short essay assignment because I was super busy but wanted to put _something_ down. Also late. Usually we get ten percent taken off of what the grade could have been. And yet I get my grade and it's 54/55. _what_?? I've had others where if I tell them maybe it was a stressful day or I was having trouble with the assignment and they're like "oh okay...well take a day to rest and then send me what you have and we'll see what's going on" high school was more like "oh it was stressful? You're 15 what do you have to be stressful about????"
you'll have a few crappy college profs but a lot of them are really nice! I do dual enrollment so while I'm in hs I take some classes at the community college and my favorite class is english composition at the college! The professor is so nice and while there's definetly a good chunk of work there's no busywork and it's doable!
I loved this! These are so, so funny and it really feels like you’re actually interacting with the teachers! It’s just really animated, lively and relatable! IThese are rather stupid questions to ask but: 1] Are college professors actually this nice? 2] Are professors nice in universities? 3] Are highschool/secondary school teachers that bad? 4] WILL I PREPARED FOR THE REAL WORLD?
1. It depends on which school you go to and what professors you have (use ratemyprofessor before agreeing to classes to find out what other students have to say about the professor in order to save you the mental anguish of ending up with a professor you dont like.) 2. I go to Tyler Junior College so i dont know if university professors are this nice or not, but mine have been. 3. Yes to me high school teachers are horrible. They stack on lots of homework, always want you quiet, dont allow for food or music use in the hallways or classrooms, expect you to use the bathroom in 1 minute between classes and then still get to their class on time all while only allowing 2 kids in the bathroom at a time, not letting you go in the middle of class, and getting mad if you walk out or talk back to them, etc. 4. With high school, no. The most you will know comimg out of high school is how to test on a standardized test. The testing is way different in college. Its a pencils up, pencils down situation, and then if you do it online, some schools use a proctoring program to watch your screen and watch you through your camera on your computer to make sure you dont cheat. Also, your high school counselor or college advisor should become your best friend. They know everything about all of the stuff you need to get to get to college, how to sign up, what tests to take, ahat documents you need, deadlines and dates, etc. Also, if you go to school in the US there is a test called the TSI in order to be accepted into any college. Make sure to do everything in your power to study well, memorize the answers, and try to get your school to pay for it because its like $60 (at least it was when i took it my junior/senior year of high school 3 years ago.)
1. So long as you're respectful, YES! 2. See #1 3. Sadly, yes. 4. Don't know. The world is constantly changing. Sometimes you luck out and learn things that will be very useful. Sometimes you learn something that ends up obsolete in a few years. The best advice I can give you for the real world is: Respect others. If you don't know, say so, and ask questions. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
For the high school one, it's exaggerated but it's pretty bad. I can't answer for the college yet since I have a week before starting, but I believe you can do this. Try to find people that will help you, do your best, and I believe you can do anything.
Our college professors appear too strict but they're actually too chill. Our department head teacher was too kind. They even told us we can take a leave if we're not mentally well and that the school guidance welcomes those who need guidance if they have no one to talk to. But after those you gotta do a lot of activities and assignments which is understandable co'z you gotta make up your credit.
High school: “ You need to go to the *BATHROOM?* NO, they wouldn’t let you go in *COLLEGE* College: “ Omg Tracy, you can just go, you don’t have to ask me “
I got the luck of my current school *actually* preparing others for college. It's an art school so understandably more loose, we're allowed to wear basically anything (Have seen multiple people wearing cat ears and wore my own bc why not, no issues, not even w/ the bells constantly jingling) there's plenty of time to talk to friends, their entire system is "If you gotta fix it after you turn it in, go ahead, as long as the initial turn in has some effort", the teachers will tell stories and stuff, and it's super inclusive and everyone's respectful (including the students!) and the best part: My advisory teacher said, quoting directly here, "If you wanna skip class go ahead just don't hide in the bathroom that's gross" Ngl such a great school, I got lucky af to get in
I never learned it and I’m in 8th, it’s the end of the year and exams are coming up so they can’t teach us any more new material. Ig it depends on the school district?
I was having trouble transferring a video for an assignment to my google drive so i emailed my teacher the night before apologizing and explaining as I'd gotten in trouble for the exact same thing the year prior but this teacher literally just told me to show him the video in class. Plus he always talks to me about music despite the fact he's my tech teacher, he's honestly the best considering I go to a really shitty school
But these are true. When you have the chill instructors that's when you score. This feels aimed at two of my professors (one of them holds a test open for a week and finals were basically just what we have been doing through the semester)
My college professors were not understanding or lenient about weddings, funerals, or ER trips. The homework was still due. The tests still happened. It would be reflected in my grade, no ifs, ands, or buts. [Edit: I did have one that was understanding about me having to miss a presentation because I was in the hospital going into potentially early labor, but that was it. Yes, I was pregnant in college. I was 29.]
@@jogle9013 I was kind of worried people would think I had a kid at 19 while in college when I was actually a non-trad. The crazy thing is I temped in the university's business office a year after graduation and they couldn't believe I had a kid. They thought I was too young because of how I looked, I guess. I'm like "well...I'm 31..." But you know, even if I did have a kid at 19 and stayed in school, that's nothing to be embarrassed about. Good for anyone who does that! It's tough but don't let go of your dreams!
"you should`ve told your grandfather its a bad time to pass away" How you gonna do that "Grandpa dont die yet i have an test on friday" or "Grandpa don`t die yet I have a exam on Friday"
I do genuinely wonder why this is such a common thing. Is it like a generational thing and they're unable to see that times have changed, or are they just projecting their own hardships they went through onto you?
I’m currently in high school, and one of my teachers hates when you have to go to the bathroom. You cannot go to the bathroom until we’re 10 min into class. WelL, I got my period during class, and we were only 6 min into class. I raised my hand, and then once the teacher called on me i said “may I go to the bathroom?” He said “no, you have to wait 4 more minutes” and then he continued teaching. I raised my hand once again and coughed to get his attention. He said “yes Samantha?” I said “may I please go to the bathroom, it’s an emergency.” He said “well if you need to go so badly you could’ve gone before class started. You know the rules.” And once again, he continued the lesson. I was annoyed at this point, so I raised my hand, got up out of my seat, and without waiting for him to call me I said “ sir, I am currently on my period. If you don’t want me to stain my clothes, and bleed onto this chair, I advise you to go let me use the restroom.” The whole class stared at me, he didn’t say anything. So since he was taking so long in responding I said “well? Can I, or can I not go to the restroom?” He said “yes you can go” very quickly and quietly. I’m still in his class and now he never questions wether or not I have to go to the bathroom 🙃
My school didn’t let us leave the classroom 20 minutes after a class started and 20 minutes before a class ended. Luckily some teachers are more flexible than others on that rule.
4:51 I would literally throw the assignment at the teacher and walk out. Idc what happens, if he says this bullshit, I’m not entitled to respect him anymore.
6:37 Sir you missed teaching us about factoring polynomials its not like we'll have a calculator or Google in our pockets all the time i mean can't your family wait😂😂😂
3:21 i dont see any bl00d- OKAY DO YOU WANNA SEE IT SO I CAN GET YOU FIRED??? nah jk almost all my teachers are female and we dont ask to go to the bathroom 😂
5:45 no bro just no. Sophomore year of High school I had this english teacher who doubled as a baseball coach and one day randomly had us read "alas babylon" and every 2 chapters had a "quiz" on said chapters which were actually just one question about the smallest and most irrelevant details in the book. its like he wants to trip us up so he can watch us fall.
When he asked her if she can hold her period I started yelling from the top of my lung”ITS BLOOD SHE CANT HOLD IT” my brother to scared to approach me just peeped in from my door to see if I was okay
Depends on your teacher. Some can be rather mean. But typically they're pretty chill. Also, as someone who also went to uni (before dropping out to go to college), I can 100% say that uni teachers are demons. Some of the worst people I've ever met. College is heaven by comparison.
Depends on the teacher but it's pretty accurate. Maybe not to that extent but one of my professors made an exam take home because at the end of class she asked, "okay, what are things you guys are struggling with but you can't say the whole thing" and when it was silent because everyone's answer was "the whole thing" she just made it take home. Additionally with that one, I fully slept through that exam because the day before I'd pulled an all-nighter and slept through my alarm. I also had another teacher let me leave early because she could tell i was in a bad way and wasn't doing well. Granted both of those examples were for classes that weren't like math or science but so far most of my professors have been really understanding about a lot of stuff which has be amazing
In my experience yeah, though I am mostly in the humanities. Each professor will have their own standards, but as long as you clear that, they'll generally treat you like a human adult, which is nice compared to the number of middle and high schools that will give you work for work's sake and treat you like a robot with nothing better to do.
Depends on the college I think. The more prestigious a college is the stricter the teachers are. State colleges and community colleges, stuff like that? Super chill professors!
Honestly, I can confirm this is very true although our highschool is a bit like a college rule It's not really that strict even eating while at class is allowed lol
I had to do an essay in speech and didn't know what to write, so I just wrote my life story and started crying when I was giving it and my professor gave me a passing grade even though it was my worst college course class in the high school duel enrollment. Our psychology teacher just gave us slides with worksheets to fill out.
I had an English professor who once hid an extra credit assignment in the directions for an essay layout. It was submit a photo of your pet or just a cute animal
I remember being someone that always drank a lot but some teachers probably thought I was cutting classes for asking to go to the bathroom often. Once they denied me and I couldn't hold it anymore. I learned at that time to rarely drink water in school so that won't ever happen again and that I won't have to go to the bathroom ever again at school.
Same. I love dehydrating myself for school. My school has got so controlling we can’t use the bathroom in between classes and we have to use E-Hallpasses to go to the bathroom and they don’t let you start the E-Hallpass if there is someone in the class already out. Or if more than 20 people (in the hallway/ or entire school I don’t remember) are already using the bathroom.
im in highschool right now working very hard to get into a good college. and i know this is abt americal colleges and probably not true for indian ones but it still motivates me a lot.
Its times like these when i’m glad i go to the highschool i go too… it’s basically a uni but with a bit more highschool stuff (probably cuz they need to pass the education board rules), the only actually bad teacher i’ve had (not one i just found annoying because of instinct) at the school i’m at now was clarified to me as “a bit strict” by other faculty! I’ve been to some bad schools and so far this one is the best (i currently don’t fiscally go to her class, i do the work in the building where people who’s classes have been canceled or don’t have a sub go, also people skipping, and usually the skipping is arranged with faculty as a thing that happens)
Word of caution for open note open book exams: if you're given one, chances are it'll be HARD. I had a week to turn in my take-home bio final this semester (open-note, open-book, you just couldn't directly ask anyone about the questions), and my god it was just awful. I had to use Google to find out what the professor was even asking in some of the questions. At least we did have a week to turn it in but I don't think anyone found it to be easy
My ASL teacher won't let anyone leave for the bathroom and its just like "Ummmmm lady what if its an emergency and no we don't have time to wait 4 mins for the people getting our of gym to change then go pee and run across school we only have 5 mins! and you constantly get calls and texts in class so what??? We are late cause we are trying to not get an UTI in class?? HALFWAY THROUGH CLASS?????"
On the topic of sleeping, my highschool had a Science Fiction class that I ADORED! But it was my last class and I suffer from insomnia, so I wouldn't sleep, realize it's 6 and go, "Guess I have to stay up." Cut to me in the middle of 4th period conked out while sitting in a chair. Missed half the plot of some of these movies but still had crazy wacky ideas. I'm surprised the teacher never got mad at me cause at the beginning of the semester she straight up said, "No talking, texting, or sleeping during movie time."
High school teacher: You're not going to have a calculator in your back pocket. Me: You mean the phone that everyone and their grandmas have with them at all times.
With the 'losing a pet' thing, I can confirm. One of my pets (my rabbit) died not long ago, and when I said at school 'My rabbit died this morning' this idiot boy who tries to be funny all the time said 'Must've been the best morning of your life' I literally started crying cos I missed my rabbit and he started claiming it was sarcasm, but anyways another kid told my teacher what the boy had said. Just before we went to another lesson, my teacher said he wanted to talk to me, and he said about how he knew how hard it was losing a pet because his cat had died like last year, and he said he was sorry for my loss ISTG HE'S THE NICEST TEACHER THAT I KNOW-
1:43 is so true in High School lol. They're like, GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP OR 9 YOU HAVE A TEST!! Then make sure you don't miss your Basketball game, your debate team meeting, and your homework read chapters 5-7 of your Science Textbook :). Like they are the ones causing sleep deprivation and they are the ones against it!? Hypocrite's XD
@@CoolioMateGD It’s all about managing your time. It could be tough, but it’s very, very doable. Millions of people get more than enough sleep in high school.
@@triple7marc I learned time management in early elementary school but middle school was hell because I was in a lot of clubs but I was much better in high school.
I’ve surprisingly only fallen asleep once in class, and when I did my classmates were the ones shaming me not the teacher, odd considering 95ish% of them fell asleep at least once
I had one kinda chill teacher in 8th grade shed just let us play games every Thursday and every other day we could either play games, do work from other classes or just hang out (depending if someone’s working if someone was doing some class work you’d have to be quiet or something)
8:04 made me gasp for 2 seconds because if you crashed and went to a complete stop you experience inertia, but your seat belts stops you from going far Also can happen when someone breaks hard and you are in the car or your re the one that braked. Honestly I think there is a big difference because, I believe some middle schools and high schools get you more prepared, just in case if you are faced with a teacher that isn't really understanding, like I saw that someone had some and mentioned about it in the comments.
My current teacher in school always yells at me for having too quiet of a voice. They also yell at me for crying out of stress. They also yell at me for getting upset. They also yell at me for not understanding the math lessons.
i'm sorry you are going through this. Do you have a trusted member of staff (vp, guidance counselor, teacher etc) to talk to? Or perhaps a guardian? It seems to may that you are under a lot of pressure and need someone trusted to discuss this with. I would recommend talking with your counselor or vice-principal(vp) about this issue; a teacher should never yell at you for not understanding or being stressed.
