Here is a GREAT example of a teachers payslip for a full time primary school teacher in Ireland.
In this video I explain each part of a standard payslip for a full time primary school teacher in Ireland.
I also touch on understanding a tax credit certificate.
Thanks for watching

Hello, wow!!!! I am surprised to receive this video of the teacher's pay slip. I know Ireland has an acute teacher shortage and that you need primary teachers. I taught as an UNQUALIFIED PRIMARY TEACHER WITH MY B.A. DEGREE. I have reference letters but I do not speak Gaelic. I need to study my PRIMARY TEACHING DEGREE. I sympathize because I know Ireland like other countries are short of primary teachers. YOU REALLY NEED THEM!!!!!!!! Thanks for connecting.

Great video, many thanks. One question, what makes up the cumulative Pension on the bottom of your example payslip? When I add 'Pensions Grouped' + 'Addit. Superan. Contr' + '1.5% Sp. & Ch -Pen' I get €171.29 for this payslip. Since this payslip covers 2 weeks and it was up until end of Jan (assuming 4 weeks in Jan), but 2 x €171.29 = €342.58 and not the €504.51 on the bottom of the payslip? What am I missing here?

Do you know where the (1.5% Sp. & Ch -Pen) contributions go if you die in service/while in receipt of your pension but you don't have a spouse/children?

I'm not 100% on this - You should consult the provider. I believe it is Cornmarket.

Hi, thanks for the video! If I multiply my basic gross fortnightly pay by 26 it doesn't match the scale I am on like what my gross annual should be. Is that normal or does it seem like a mistake? It is out by about €700 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Denise I would check this out with your payroll department. I have seen this happen a lot in my payslip consultations. Some people are on the incorrect scale or the gross payment is lower than it should be.

Department guidelines are to actually use 26.09 to calculate gross earnings, not 26. Try that and see if it adds up for you 🙂
