Alex is the least likely of my friends to enjoy a Tokusatsu and we're on a mission to try and find one he might enjoy. In this video we finish watching some of the Title sequences from Super Sentai
30:54 To clarify Don Brothers is VR mixed with the Tale of Momotaro, a piece of folklore that get referenced in a lot of places. Granted this themeing get extend to folklore/fables, with the addition of Don Doragoku/Torabolt and Don Murasame, who are not shown as this is the first iteration of the op 33:37 Not doing Kingohger’s?
Ah, nice to know! I dont think i was able to find the OP for Kingohger at the time, just a trailer. Thats why we watched that at the end instead of an OP.
Donbrothers is based on the tale and characters of Momotaro. And actually more than they've run out with themes Ninjas, Dinosaurs and cars are the one who sells best in toys with japanese children P.S.Have you ever noticed the Gold ranger from Go-buster is the same actor as Magiyellow?
@@GoggleVision nice2, ima give you the links just in case you didn't react to ones that's outdated or badly edited. Openings - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6mb8sw3d1dE.html Henshin - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qf80JzhsmVo.html
to be completely honest its very jarring to be disappointed that the show openings dont give you enough info about the show (given that they are just openings and arent supposed to go in depth), then go to a show's *preview*, something meant to give a show's synopsis and familiarize the viewer, and praise it for that
Previews. That would basically be watching all the trailers for every series right?.. Is there a video of all the previews out there we can watch? Or would I have to search up each one individually. Because we really wouldn't have had time in a recording session to do that... I can understand not worrying about the plot if you are a fan of Tokusatsu already. You already enjoy the tropes that come with the franchise Alex is coming into this with absolutely NO nostalgia. Not for Tokusatu, not for Super Sentai and not even for power rangers. Unfortunately the Suits and mecha on their own aren't going to do that for him. In contrast to the Kamen Rider openings they still managed to give him a slight feel of the era or the vibe of the show without giving away too much. (Though i was giving him what knowledge i had) We do still have the Sentai henshins to watch, and i will be throwing some ultraman videos into the mix as well, as even im new to that, but in all honesty i cant see Alex choosing to watch anything that doesnt have a slightly more adult vibe than Sentai.. Maybe if we can find a series he'll watch between Riders, Sentai and Ultraman im hoping he'll be a lot more accepting of the slightly more 'goofy' Tokusatsu series.
Why didn't you use the wiki during the reaction to give a brief summary over what each sentai was about? To me anyways, openings aren't meant to be used as a hook for a series, especially if they aren't even subbed. It's more like the final string pulling you in should you find the premise intriguing.
Dekaranger are not futureistic in terms it takes place in modern day japan, I despise power rangers, super sentai is superior and everyone should watch donbrothers, kiramager, modern classics top quality, king-ohger so far has been really good, I never someone not been grip by ops, u the only person I know who seems to struggle, because anyone else it not hard
Apologies. 70% of My knowledge (Ozzy) is unfortunately from the PR versions. I have watched a handful of Sentai versions and agree SS is vastly superior! Dekaranger isn't one ive seem yet though. As for Alex, remember that he is coming into this with absolutely NO nostalgia. Not for Tokusatu, not for Super Sentai and not evern for power rangers. Most toku opening reactions you tend to find usually has the viewer at least being a fan of power rangers as a child, so the style of show doesn't necessarily throw them off. The goal of this video series is to try and find a Tokusatsu that might interest him. Unfortunately the flashy suits and giant robots aren't going to do that for him. We do still have the Sentai henshins to watch, and i will be throwing some ultraman videos into the mix as well, as even im new to that, but in all honesty i cant see Alex choosing to watch anything that doesn't have a slightly more adult 'vibe' than Sentai. Maybe if we can find at least one series he'll watch from Riders, sentai and Ultraman, im hoping hell be a lot more accepting of the slight more 'goofy' Tokiusatsu series in future.
@@matthew4076 When do we ever say that? I (Ozzy) am a big Sentai fan and agree with most people when they say Sentai is vastly superior to Power rangers... Alex is completely new to Tokusatsu all together. He didnt grow up with power rangers, or any toku. He has no nostalgia what so ever. The plan is to find one he might like and ease him into the genre. However he is more into drama and realistic plots than the comedic or goofy.
