Is this a Japanese group of students? Cuz the pictures for the days of the week seem to correspond with the kanji for those days of the week, which is a pretty great way to bridge that mental gap for each day of the week to have the kids have an easier time jumping from their native language to English. If it's not, then it's a pretty big coincidence.

G Sánchez it's magnets, those kind of black boards are metal behind the writing surface, so they stick. You can use any kind of magnet and they are sold at pretty much every bigger supermarket or home depot for example

sista you can kill it if you started recording your classes every day and posting them as lessons. You could monetize it for home schoolers.

I personally didn't like this at all. I love her attitude and enthusiasm, however, the pics and motions did nothing to help the students remember the word or what it meant. I would put the day of the week with a rectangle below with 7 blocks. Then fill in each box to match the day of the week they were learning. I know this is a way to engage the children etc, but I think you can engage them AND do so with meaningful engagement. Now I don't know sign language, but if you are going to have them move with the words to use movement with memorizing you might as well use actual sign language movement for words so that it again is - meaningful. Just my opinion...i may be blasted for this opinion. It is in no way meant to disrespect this teacher or TPR, but I would do it differently - no matter how many 'experts' came up with this method.

The characters for the days of the week in chinese and japanese have the meaning of the images in the pictures. ex. thursday in japanese is 木曜日、木 means tree in japanese and i'm assuming also in mandarin. Friday is 金曜日、金 means gold, so she has a picture of gold.

wsnell Knowlegde is power...If that is correct, then awesome. That's exactly what I was meaning and apparently why what she was doing!!! Great!!!

No wonder, I'm a native speaker of Mandarin, and yeah 木 means trees in mandarin.

In English the days of the week also have meaning, but the kids would have to know the Gods from Scandinavian myths, because the days of the week in English are called after those Gods (Tuesday to Friday; and Saturday - Sunday = after the planets: Saturn, Sun and Moon). :)
