In this episode of the Foundation Worldview Podcast, host Elizabeth Urbanowicz discusses whether and when to teach children about slang words related to sex and sexuality. As parents, should we be the ones who introduce these terms? Elizabeth shares her insights on age-appropriate discussions and the importance of building a positive biblical theology of sex and sexuality before our children are exposed to deviations from God's good design.

This was so good. I've got a 3 and a 6 year old and I've really been struggling with how to tackle this with my kids because it wasn't done well with me. I'm honestly grateful that this topic keeps resurfacing in some form or other because I definitely needed another reminder to start teaching my kids instead of waiting to fix something they were already exposed to. Thanks Elizabeth and team!

My 7yo baby actually asked me what does “what the f***” mean a couple of months ago. I was so glad I had already talked to both her and her sister about sex from a biblical perspective. It made it a lot easier to explain the slang, why some people use it and why we won’t be using it.

I'm trying to find this lovely Psalm 1 you sing in this episode, but I can not find it on spotify. Also, my preschooler had an argument on the playground at age 3 with classmates on whether boys could marry boys and girls could marry girls. We had not talked about God's good design yet and I was so disappointed I didn't get to start the conversation on my terms. So take Elizabeth's advice! Start early! When we talk about this topic I remind them that this is a topic every child has a right to learn about from their parents so if friends want to talk or have questions remind them to ask their parents.

NO. You should absolutely NOT be bringing up anything sexual into your children’s lives at a pre-teen age. WTF is wrong with you people.

Did you watch the video? Children who aren’t homeschooled will likely be exposed to some words and concepts well before they are teens. Do you really want other children putting your children on the wrong path? Age appropriate conversations are a must.
