I completely respect and appreciate that you are a Christian concerned with teaching our youth about who God is. I too am a Christian, though because I currently do not agree that God exists as a triunity, I understand that many, and perhaps you as well, would question or deny this. I am not trying to argue or convince you of any other view of Jesus' ontological nature, but I should point out that the apple illustration is not am apt example of the Trinity, but more of an old heresy as the skin cannot be compared to its core etc. the three parts are not equal and the skin of an apple would never be considered the apple. Also, "eternal" as used in the Bible, does not always refer to eternal in the past (hence John 3:16 is not a reference to our having always been saved in eternity past). Aside from this, I would encourage you to search the Bible for a teaching of the Trinity. I understand that we are able to infer the Trinity through Biblical teaching (there is one God, The Father is God, Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God), however, there is no teaching in the old or New Testament that attempts to describe how these three "Persons" relate to one another. Not once does Jesus in the gospels lay out the Trinity for us to better understand and submit to; not once is it clarified in the book of Acts, where the church is seen in its infancy and where there are many other issues dealt with; not one time in any of the letters of Paul, Peter, Jude, John and Peter does the Holy Spirit feel the necessity to help us describe the Triunity of God. This should concern any firm believer in the Trinity. To clarify, I am not a Jehovah's Witness, a Mormon, a Unitarian, nor a Oneness Pentecostal. I would agree with you that Jesus is not demonstrated to be a mere man, angel, one of many Gods or the same Person as God the Father in the Bible and therefore I do not subscribe to those specific denominations either. Again, I am not trying to convince you of any other denominations understanding of Jesus' ontological nature, but merely ask that you recognize that Jesus is not taught to be one member of a Triune God. The Trinity is an inferred doctrine. Man teaches these things, but the Bible does not (hence there were no Scriptures quoted in your teaching). Inference is fine and good, but lets not confuse it to be the Word of God. Thanks.

cool person, I thank you for caring enough about me to offer what you believe will save my soul. I wish more people were able to share their faith in a genuine way. You are correct in the story of the woman caught in adultery, 1 John 5:7, the last 12 verses of Mark, etc. Though I must turn down your offer. I like that you've looked at the Bible, even in an adversarial manner. I think it's important to have a basic understanding of another position and history in order to form a more objective opinion. That being said, I would like to point out that the knowledge of these verses as not being written by the authors is part of the reason I do trust in the Bible. We have around 5800 manuscripts of the New Testament in Koine Greek alone and though none of them are perfectly copied, the thrust of the manuscripts has remained the same. One of the reasons I am more doubtful of the Quran is that the Kalif, Usman, when he compiled the official Islamic scripture burned each and every source from which he copied. I therefore have more faith in the Bible being the word of God because there was never a time where a single person had complete control of the manuscripts and could have changed them to fit their specific understanding. The very thing that many would point to, as you have done, to deny the New Testament is the very thing that I point to in order to demonstrate its authenticity. Though some have changed certain sections of the a manuscript that may have been copied by others, we have enough streams of manuscripts to compare and come to the truth of what was written by the original authors. There is nothing like this in Islam or Mormonism. In your case, you must blindly believe that Usman was faithful to everything that was written by Muhammed and eventually handed down verbally, not in writing, until there was such infighting between the scholars of what exactly was originally written that Usman ordered an official manuscript be compiled, which he got 100% correct, without bias. I hope you do not take offense at my criticism and invite any and all others to be equally as cordial and patient as you have been, when reflecting and posting a comment. true. but also note that jesus called himself as the vine..which is an analogy also...and describes his work of spreading outward and sharing the good news that he and his way is the offer of salvation. surely a vine is of and from a source such as a seed. i have the tree analogy on my channel
