Haha! Sam I had the same issue when I arrived in France six years ago. I hated my accent and I vowed to speak better. Six years in, my husband and I speak only in French. And people still ask me if I am either American or English. The accent stays no matter what! But from my experience, the French finds our accents charming. It will get better. But watching this video reminds me of me when I first arrived. Bon continuation!

You are soooo cute ❤️ I'm peruvian 🇵🇪 but I speak some french and english, so I can practice a little with you guys. By the way, Sam, your accent is so pretty when you speak french and your husband's accent when he speaks english too. Keep in mind that accents are always beautiful and for me is sexy as hell when a non-native speaker makes an effort like that to speak spanish.

Al -B is so encouraging to you Sam. And he’s right. You’re doing great, and you both sound sexy. I’m sure it’s that awesome chemistry between you both. You’re an inspiration to me Sam, because I just started a new job teaching ELA in a second grade class. I have several ESL students and a couple are fluent in both languages. I am making a serious effort to learn Spanish because I want to communicate one on one with them. I find myself saying things in both languages. It’s so much fun teaching and learning. The best way to learn a language is through conversation so don't be embarrassed to speak to French people even if you mess up. Most appreciate the effort when Americans try to speak the language. People were always impressed with me and my 3 daughters to hear us go from English to Spanish. And back to English. They learned proper French in school. I bought tapes as well.

A good way to to learn French is by checking out simple children books from tbe library that you can read with the help of Google translate . As you get better, graduate to more challenging books. Good luck.

Well, l learned English using that technique except I didn't have access to Google translate several years ago. I used a good old fashioned English French dictionary. Now Google translate will provide the pronunciation as well. Bonne chance!

I hope my French is ok. I can speak English, alittle Spanish, alittle French, alittle Italian, German, Swahili, Chinese and Japanese. I love to listen to other people speak their language and try to learn it. As well as visit their country. Also teach my children and grandchildren.

girl first your french is very good. i know we always feel ridiculous when we learn a language but don’t worry cause us french think it is nice and cute because you are trying to speak. that is why we like it. tu parles très bien et ne t’en fait pas tu vas apprendre beaucoup plus au cour du temps que tu vas étudier.
