Sorry for the slightly squiffy audio in parts on this one. We recorded over Christmas (hence the pyjamas, no regrets!) which was before I'd upgraded my mic. Still, I didn't want to waste the footage because Dave worked really hard, bless him. What a great student, am I right?!
Far be it from me to get in the way of the apparent army of Daves that will soon take over the house! And I think you're right, the other day he asked if I think he would be able to crochet a hoodie, so definitely hooked! 😁
I was making an blanket once in a basic continuous granny square and my younger brother and cousin were watching with their mouths open as I was keeping my rhythm and speed to Ace of Spades, I had to slow down as I started to scare myself at the speed I was going.
Dave is so much fun! He did great. I love his personality. I think "duck" is perfect....it's a thing now!😅 I hope he crochets more and surprises us.❤❤❤
Honestly I was so impressed. From "which end of the hook do I use" all the way to "I think I'll make another Dave this afternoon", it was really interesting to see how quickly he developed!
Love boyes being featured! Ive just found out there is one in brighouse, which isnt too far from me, and my husband and i are planning a day trip there to go and check it out (plus a shed load of charity shops). This video made my day. Truly delightful stuff.
This video was hysterical! I laughed at all the duck stuff. You each have a great sense of humor! Thx for this Looking for brochet for my son who is teaching himself to crochet. Sent him yours. 🙋♀️🧶Linda in California
Some of its go to a ton of effort to teach our loved ones crochet. And *some* of us just have to make one comment about a duck and suddenly they're the star of the show 😤😂
We watched the video back before I was allowed to publish, and the look on his face at that part! I swear he just said random things while filming and had no memory of them afterwards 😆
I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to watch this. Total breath of fresh air. You two are brilliant together 😻 From someone who learned to crochet as a child, but never finished a single thing, I am totally impressed.
You two have great chemistry. I loved that video. Dave, you are a true gem. I’ve watched with my bf for a bit. He won’t crochet though but would like to have a drink with you two. 😂 thanks for sharing.
So awesome!! I can totally understand the duck theory, maybe cus I'm a lefty too, he did really well with his creations can't wait to see what you try together next 😍 my husband's first crochet (other than granny squares when I was learning) was a poppy brooch (they do like to dive right in don't they) also the bloopers were funny, I'd have laughed so much with a camera on me too
I'm normally not a fan of bloopers but ended up with so much footage of him unable to keep a straight face, it just had to go in! Interesting theory that left-handed folks see ducks in things more often than the rest of us...I don't know what kind of evolutionary quirk would cause something like that, but it is now officially part of my headcanon :D Love love LOVE that your husband crochets too! It's so relaxing, more guys need to look past the stigma and just try things imo.
@@TheGiddyStitcher my fella definitely isn't worried about stereotypes. Our kids can all cross stitch (and the Mr) I don't see ducks in all things mind, just meant with the crochet logic lol 😂 I also hold my yarn and hook different from most too 👌
Thank you so much for that video. It cheered me up and made me laugh. Nice job Dave on learning to crochet! Love the animals. And I completely understand what he's saying about the duck. I love that analogy. Michelle, have you done any crochet tutorials or can you recommend any? And is crochet easier to learn/do than knitting?
I've not done any crochet tutorials but do want to at some point. So many video ideas, so little time 😴 In the meantime though, I've seen a lot of people learn from Bella Coco. Honestly I think it is easier than knitting just because once you've learned one crochet stitch you've pretty much learned them all. But YMMV!
It was fun to make... but probably not fun to edit. We could probably do another full video of bloopers (which would be mostly just me failing to stop laughing!)
This was absolutely hilarious! I laughed many many times throughout the video! 😂His creations look so cute, especially the Dave Rabbit/Bird one! 😊I would definitely love to watch another of this type of video with another craft! 🤭
Crochet is the next thing I wanna learn. I've done some chain stitches but they're so inconsistent. It's been a few months since I tried but I'll get back to it one of these days. We actually have a box of yarn & some squares crocheted that I found when we moved in 2016. I showed my hubby (technically bf but after a decade I'm like whatever he's my hubby) thinking they'd been his ex-wife's but they were his! I had no idea he knew not to crochet! I was surprised but not cause he's very creative & learns very quickly. So maybe I should have him teach me 😆
Do it! One of us! I'm hoping to put out some crochet tutorials over the next few weeks because a few people have been asking me for pointers, so hopefully I can inspire you (read: be a terrible influence) 😁
