Where I come from, we still use old school chalkboards. My high school didn't need any high tech boards. It made us pay more attention to what our instructor was writing.

Yes, there is a delay and it is normal. Although it can be a bit awkward at first, one gets used to it pretty quickly.

you mean "front projectors". This one uses a projector too, but it is located behind the screen

We have 1 of these in the computer lab at school but we never use it. Public school ftw

@DerCrossi good point, but all they have to do is update the hardware and it will perform faster. Problem solved

Haha, my high school had one in every single classroom. Really great for powerpoints, taking notes but there is nothing like seeing math problems done a good old chalk board!

in our district we have 4 in each elementary, 10 in the middle, and 20 in the high. there are 5 elementary schools so we have 50

@tralfazz I do not think the technology will be obsolete, hardware is pretty simple, and besides the cost of the board once your school or company owns it you can get the Notebook software for free. It's not the board itself that's magic, it''s SMART Notebook that does wonders. I wonder if the OP still uses that? Looks like a SB585?

yeah, so i went and counted, we have 47 in HS, 43 in MS, an 74 in all 3 elementary schools (combined), so....164 smartboards in my district, and more coming

smartboards are a huge waste of money right now. You can use all the same software on new projectors without the board at all. Smartboards are 10-15 years behind the curve. Why don't you run out and buy newtons while your at it.

This is just confusing. She is jumping every minute to some other sausage chain of formulas which make no sense whatsoever. How can a poor sudent who is trying to understand the basics make any sense of that?
